70's Mike Posted 25 October, 2011 Posted 25 October, 2011 Handed in mine and 2 sons application for Skates away today, just have to sit and wait until e-mail appears on PC.
LGTL Posted 25 October, 2011 Posted 25 October, 2011 Any indication how many they've had in so far? I assume the majority will wait until at least Bristol City goes on the away count.
ladysaint Posted 25 October, 2011 Posted 25 October, 2011 I am going to wait until after Bristol City but as most of us have done all of them hopefully we should be OK. Have been told about 400 fans have been to all the games and about 1300 have done between 3 - 4 games but not sure how accurate this info is but does sound plausible.

Heard that too, bit of a grey area if the 1300 includes the first 400.
DJ_TOAST Posted 25 October, 2011 Posted 25 October, 2011 Any indication how many they've had in so far? I assume the majority will wait until at least Bristol City goes on the away count. aye I'll be waiting till got Bristol ticket. Hope that 3 away games is enough!!
saintscottofthenortham Posted 25 October, 2011 Posted 25 October, 2011 Me too waiting for Brizzle as that'll give me 3.
DJ_TOAST Posted 25 October, 2011 Posted 25 October, 2011 Wonder what would happen if you had say tickets sorted for those with 3+ games, then you had a 1000 applications for 500 tickets left for those who'd done 2 away games. How do you fairly distribute.

View From The Top Posted 25 October, 2011 Posted 25 October, 2011 Got 4 aways now but will wait until Brizzle which will make it cast iron.
This Charming Man Posted 25 October, 2011 Posted 25 October, 2011 I've been to every game bar Swindon in the cup so I'll be fine. Just thought I would share this insightful information with you all.
JRM Posted 25 October, 2011 Posted 25 October, 2011 surely surely surely they will put tickets on sale to non-season ticket holders? has this info not been released yet? the ticket information is often misleading, but in the interests of our support looking as good as possible i'd like the ticket office to be more pro-active, don't want any empty seats in our end.
DJ_TOAST Posted 25 October, 2011 Posted 25 October, 2011 That's why it's called a ballot. I still think it'll go to general sale - if they let it. So would be a lucky dip then if all was even. Thought they might look at away games last year if came to that but guess bit much effort.
CFSFC Posted 25 October, 2011 Posted 25 October, 2011 It will go to database only on general sale no doubt about it especially if we have 3200 tickets.
Thorpe-le-Saint Posted 25 October, 2011 Posted 25 October, 2011 5 aways this season...I'll see you at Fratton.
Barry the Badger Posted 25 October, 2011 Posted 25 October, 2011 We only have 1 away game each but I'm feeling pretty optimistic. Have spoken to a lot of people who just don't fancy it.
Saints foreva Posted 25 October, 2011 Posted 25 October, 2011 I've only got two away games, the two mates I will be applying with will have three, maybe four. Hope I don't let them down...
The Kraken Posted 25 October, 2011 Posted 25 October, 2011 We only have 1 away game each but I'm feeling pretty optimistic. Have spoken to a lot of people who just don't fancy it. I can't imagine it will do anything than go on general sale. We've previously struggled to sell out a reduced allocation before on the ballot, add in the "bubble trip" restrictions and I imagine anyone who has been to 1 away game will get a ticket if they apply.

Ian the Red Posted 25 October, 2011 Posted 25 October, 2011 Well last time the tickets didnt get to general sale, they were sold on the ballot. With our support away this season, think you'll need 3-4 away games to be sure of getting a ticket................ have 5 away games plus Bristol so I'll see you in the sh%6 hole that is home of the skates b!"£$%ds

holepuncture Posted 25 October, 2011 Posted 25 October, 2011 not sure if i can be bothered with all this ballot and buses b*ll*cks... might just get to a pub instead
Benali Saint Posted 25 October, 2011 Posted 25 October, 2011 I have 6. But waiting for Bristol City and Donny
um pahars Posted 25 October, 2011 Posted 25 October, 2011 surely surely surely they will put tickets on sale to non-season ticket holders? has this info not been released yet? the ticket information is often misleading, but in the interests of our support looking as good as possible i'd like the ticket office to be more pro-active, don't want any empty seats in our end. I've just got this funny feeling that they will only be offered to S/T holders. Reasons: 1) No info at all regarding when going on sale to non S/T holders 2) S/T holders have procedure that takes 6 weeks plus to process, non S/T holders will only have about 2/3 weeks. 3) They know who is buying and think they can hold you to account more (revoke S/T if any problems) 4) They just want to restrict who is going (and how many) 5) I might be wrong
thornhill_saints Posted 25 October, 2011 Posted 25 October, 2011 I have no away games under my belt this season, but a season ticket holder all the same. I'm handing mine in on Sat morning.. What do you reckon the odds are on me getting one?

70's Mike Posted 25 October, 2011 Author Posted 25 October, 2011 Many quite like the idea of a bubble trip, makes them feel safe. until they realise they will be out for most of the day for a 90min game
Sour Mash Posted 25 October, 2011 Posted 25 October, 2011 Many quite like the idea of a bubble trip, makes them feel safe. Maybe, but how is that any different to previous trips down there where escorted coach travel was available?
Toomer Posted 25 October, 2011 Posted 25 October, 2011 (edited) Looking forward to the walk from Rodney Road round the side of Notarf with them trying to give the V sign but can't because of the webbed skin between their fingers. And them being held up trying to get on the M27 from about Fareham West as we go by. Edited 25 October, 2011 by Toomer
Raging Bull Posted 25 October, 2011 Posted 25 October, 2011 Many quite like the idea of a bubble trip, makes them feel safe. Would certainly feel much safer if I were taking the boy... Would care a toss if I weren't.
View From The Top Posted 25 October, 2011 Posted 25 October, 2011 Maybe, but how is that any different to previous trips down there where escorted coach travel was available? And IIRC plenty took up that option. Personally I think the whole bubble thing is total bol locks and a way of controlling numbers. It also means that 4 of us will have to travel down the night before and stay over!
View From The Top Posted 25 October, 2011 Posted 25 October, 2011 Would certainly feel much safer if I were taking the boy... Would care a toss if I weren't. I agree. I'm taking my lad because it is a bubble, otherwise it would have been on the train, no kids.
SuperMikey Posted 25 October, 2011 Posted 25 October, 2011 I'm hoping it will go to database sales, if it does then I wouldn't be averse to camping outside SMS overnight to get my tickets!
anothersaintinsouthsea Posted 25 October, 2011 Posted 25 October, 2011 Well I got a ticket last time despite having no other away games to my name. Pretty sure it will go to a General sale (database only) if they let it.
hamster Posted 25 October, 2011 Posted 25 October, 2011 You can stop at mine if you want vftt. House will be empty, proper empty as most of our gear will be in the new house in Kent with us.
Neil Posted 27 October, 2011 Posted 27 October, 2011 Will be easy to get tickets. So if I understand it correctly, it will cost me a total of £43.50 to get a coach 20-odd miles to watch Championship football in a ****-tip of a ground, when the game is on BBC. I can see their strategy! I wonder if the £43.50 outlay guarantees that I'll see kick off, bearing in mind I've missed the kick off the last two occasions despite following police advice. I would like the clubs to confirm that the game won't kick off until the opposition's coach travellers have all arrived...

100%Red&White Posted 28 October, 2011 Posted 28 October, 2011 It will be harder getting a ticket for the away game at Brighton. Bank holiday, new ground, close by and we only get around 2200. Another lottery of a ballot. As far as the skates are concerned, it’s not ideal but I’m quite prepared to accept a few hours of hardship, it’s one day ffs and the rewards could be great. I know the OB feel this ‘bubble trip’ isn’t infringing our human rights like it would have done to keep the skates inside our comfortable stadium for half hour last time but if they’re going to keep us sat on the coaches for hours on end I’m sure they’ll bring us all round a nice hot cuppa and sarnies to keep us going and give us the opportunity to take a ****! Although, with regard to getting us all in by kick-off, it’s more likely we’ll all be inside fartton 2 hours before! What’s the bet they stop you going in with any kind of drink and then sell nothing once inside. As long as we do the same to them at SMS. Still not convinced we’ll get the full 3200 to sell, I reckon they’ll keep big empty blocks either side of us in that end.
saints_is_the_south Posted 28 October, 2011 Posted 28 October, 2011 Been to every away game bar Swindon & Derby, so fairly optimistic. Going to wait until getting tickets for Bristol City, and Donny hopefully if they go on sale before the cut off date for the ballot application.
West End Saint Posted 28 October, 2011 Posted 28 October, 2011 The application is in we have Barnsley Ipswich Swindon Burnley Cardiff & Reading for our away games so feel confident that we will see you at NotarfKrap shame about travel arrangments not much chance of having a couple of beers but hey ho really looking forward to this game. I think anyone with 2 or more away games has a good chance of getting a ticket bubble or no bubble there will be some fans that dont fancy going to the hell hole that is Skateville
COMEONYOUREDS Posted 28 October, 2011 Posted 28 October, 2011 Thought Nick Illingsworth said you would need a minimum of 7 games? LOL
The9 Posted 28 October, 2011 Posted 28 October, 2011 Thought Nick Illingsworth said you would need a minimum of 7 games? LOL "In order to attend you will be required to be a Season Ticket holder, have attended more than 7 aways and hire a Saints-approved taxi".
aintforever Posted 28 October, 2011 Posted 28 October, 2011 I would like the clubs to confirm that the game won't kick off until the opposition's coach travellers have all arrived... I was told that when other clubs have done this the coaches get there stupidly early to avoid all the traffic and opposition hoolies. Also the earlier they leave the less time we will have to get ourselves tanked up.
for_heaven's_Saint Posted 28 October, 2011 Posted 28 October, 2011 I'm a bit stuck with this at the moment. I've done 3 away games so far, but only 1 is registered to my user number. I am not techincally a Season Ticket holder- according to the Saints records, but have a friend's season ticket for the rest of the season, as he bought one then decided to go travelling. Therefore I'm thinking of booking a Bristol City ticket on my friend's season ticket, then applying through that. My question would then be, will the person who goes to the game have to be the person who's name is on the season ticket with which they applied?
dune Posted 28 October, 2011 Posted 28 October, 2011 It will go to database only on general sale no doubt about it especially if we have 3200 tickets.` We don't. I spoke to a ticket office supervisor (sfc and not the call centre) and we have 2500.
The9 Posted 28 October, 2011 Posted 28 October, 2011 (edited) I'm a bit stuck with this at the moment. I've done 3 away games so far, but only 1 is registered to my user number. Therefore I'm thinking of booking a Bristol City ticket on my friend's season ticket, then applying through that. My question would then be, will the person who goes to the game have to be the person who's name is on the season ticket with which they applied? I very much doubt it. They won't care at Fratton as long as you have a ticket - they won't care in the TO as long as the name of the person applying has an ST against it, the only sticking point will be when they actually give the ticket out on the bus itself, and even then I doubt they'll know who is on which coach so you'll get a ticket entirely determined by the fact you're on the bus. Getting on the bus they won't check who you are either, only that you have a "bus ticket". So your friend applies as an ST holder with one match against his name and with your address on his account, you get notified, turn up on the day, and if you take the ST for good measure there's your ID if asked. It does to an extent depend on how they decide to cross-reference the ballot with the actual bus-boarding though - but having the ST (and no other ID) on you should bypass any bureaucracy.
