We are the masters of our own destiny. Leicester's managerial change is neither good nor bad for us, but I must say whoever inherits that team is a very lucky manager, aside from the pressure of getting success.

No surprise.

Their owners seemed to want big name and to sign every player who agents were whoring around.

Much prefer our owners approach.

Delldays was in awe of them in the summer with their 'names' signings thinking them and WHU had top two sewn up!

I was mocked when saying their signings were not better than their players!

Hope they have unsettled period.

Too early to worry about other teams - keep our home form as it is and we are up.

Not a surprise given their indifferent results, only down point is that we did not take advantage of it.

Whether its good or bad for us depends on who they get in.Martin O'Neil's name is bound to be linked, assuming he can sell his flat in Winchester.

MON's too smart to do a King Kev or Kenny not to mention probably doesn't need the hassle of dealing with insistent, ignorant owners.

...now go watch him join them.

Good for us...??

Bad news for us, now they'll get someone good in, and with the squad they've got actually get them performing the way a half-decent manager would. Surprised he has gone quite this quick, but said before season started that he would not last long.

Big spending Gus next as he drops into bottom half tonight!?

big spending gus....what are you on about...brighton don't spend money (according to NSC)

apart from their £90m stadium, CMS, Vicente etc

If Martin O'Neill gets the Leicester job I'd suggest that would make them genuine promotion candidates; it was a bit of a scattergun approach from Sven but he still signed some very good players for this level; even on 19 points they're not miles away, and as they've probably under-achieved so far if they get their act together with a new manager they could be a proper force yet.

I still maintain playoffs will be a fantastic achievement this year; West Ham will be up there of course, Leicester could kick into gear, even Birmingham look like they're now putting results together (4 wins and a draw since we humbled them) and could go second if they win their games in hand. Middlesbrough also look strong, which makes this Saturday's game very important to set a marker, and we're relying massively on our incredible home form at the moment.

Blimey they don't hang around.

I would say good. The retards in charge at Leicester obviously think spending **** loads of cash guarantees you a top team overnight.

I have followed " Svennis' " career as much as anyone. He is an ikon in Sweden, and his record of successes in Europe is quite excellent. He certainly needed MORE time and he should have been allowed a season at least.

He is a methodical person and has his own plan for forming a team..but it takes time and Leicester didn't give him that.

The Leicester Board must be lunatic and they deserve everything that's coming to them. Many of his dozen or so new signings were players who knew him and whom he has known from the past, and they signed for HIM.

How a new man will cope with them is bound to attract attention.

I cannot believe that he would ever consider Pomp*y, as he doesn't need the money and would certainly like a club with patience and ambition. Wait till a few Prem. managers have got the push and he'll be back on top.

Personally, I think they will self-destruct and it'll be one less club to worry about as promotion rivals.

Well money doesn't seem to be an issue for the foxes so unlike Forest and pompey they don't just have to look at out of work managers or ones so crap the compensation is dirt cheap. I wouldn't be surprised if they try and poach a good manager from another club.

This is my favourite bit about the whole story, taken from the BBC web site.

Academy director Jon Rudkin and coach Mike Stowell have taken joint control of the first team, with assistance from development coach Steve Beaglehole.

Yes, really.

Good or Bad for us? Neither I suppose. If Leicester improve under a new manager they will take points off other clubs, so thats not bad for Saints. But if the fault is in the scatter gun buying, the new guy will still have the same team so improvement isn't guaranteed by the organ grinders changing the monkey.

Quiet satisfaction over the press being proved wrong again when you look back at the attention they gave the celeb managers at the start of the season and now its 2 down.

Sven and McLaren. What a pair of jokers. How did these two idiots ever manage the national team?

Hopefully people will stop employing him now. He must have earned more than enough in pay-offs to never have to work again?

Has the season ended ? I thought the fnal positions were decided in May.

The dream team for me at Pompey would be Sven as manager, Tord Grip as assistant and Steve Beaglehole with the magic sponge. The marquee signing in January could be Steve 'the prolific' scarecrow Claridge.

Stranger things have happened!...

Adkins isn't on their fans' radar, acording to this poll anyway: http://www.foxestalk.co.uk/forums/index.php?showtopic=77247

Not sure why he'd leave anyway, same sized stadium, same league but we're higher, a squad of players here he already knows, plus he knows what the expectations are at Saints, already has what you can only imagine is a strong relationship with the Chairman, and potentially just as much if not more money to spend. Plus Cortese doesn't seem to be backward in improving contracts if necessary.

Always thought Sven was like a Swedish George Burley. Capable of spending vast amounts of money and achieving average results, but wont actually win anything. Speaking of which, I'd love it if either Leicester or Pompey appointed Burley.

P.S. I don't see why Adkins would go to Leicester. They have been more liberal in spending the cash, but we probably have more in the kitty.
