When is Barnard/lallana going to be fit?

Barnard had another relapse of his injury, so no idea about him. Sounds long-term to me.

Lallana was apparentley very close to being in the squad yesterday, but in the end he didn't travel - so you could glean from this that he's also had a recurrence too.

Lallana is the key, without him we seem to be poor, would love to the win percentage he has when he plays compared to not.

Lallana is the best attacking player in this league.

LB well i reckon its to do with this court case but he is also missed, i prefer him to DC, DC is better coming off the bench iMO.

Don't think so. We were outstanding against Derby without him, and very effective against West Ham without him.

Of course any team will miss him...but we've shown that we can still grind out results without him. He's very important to us, but I don't think we're poor whenever he's not in the team.

Lallana has suffered an injury to the arch of his foot. Scan does not show any major injury and it looks to be a short term problem. He had the same for 3 games last season but carried on with pain killing injections.

Barnard said last Tuesday that he expected to be back in training in a week. It is an ankle injury which he has had since last season and it keeps re occurring.

Adkins hinting on latest Saints Player interview (uploaded 45 mins ago) that Lallana will be available at the weekend vs Middlesborough: http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/articles/20111024/nigel-keen-on-teen-spirit_2264122_2492403

There again, I guess he would say that whether he was likely to be fit or not in order to keep the opposition on their toes

Sounds Lallana is close, would be good if he is back for Boro.

As for Barnard, well we cant keep the momentum of our campaign going with only one in-form striker, so this is becoming a wee bit desperate...

Loads of teams only have one in form striker, if that. We can and will score from all over the place as has already been demonstrated this season. Far better than only relying on your strikers

Adkins did say on Friday about Lallana on the OS that he was "sure he will be available for selection". May have genuinely thought that, or just misleading Reading

Would prefer to see him at least on the bench at Coventry. DC isn't doing it at the moment and I've been a bit disappointed with his contribution for a few games now. Didn't really influence the game when he came on last night. Barnard would be my first choice along side Lambert when fit, although I suspect there will be a fair few sub appearances before then. How long has he been injured? Since March or April I think.
