spyinthesky Posted 22 October, 2011 Posted 22 October, 2011 You are joking Ii thought he gave a pretty balanced view
Ewell Posted 22 October, 2011 Posted 22 October, 2011 He spoke a lot of sense to me. Was very positive about the club, fans, our players and the management team.
RobM Posted 22 October, 2011 Posted 22 October, 2011 Likewise, I thought he was very fair, especially considering he was there as an an ex-player of both Reading and Saints.
Aardvark Posted 22 October, 2011 Posted 22 October, 2011 Take it you weren't at the game... Take it that you're a knob.
CFSFC Posted 22 October, 2011 Author Posted 22 October, 2011 Signalling to reading fans and cheering at them leading... That good enough?? Luckily some loon started a murty your a c*** song to which everyone joined in and him signalling a crying face.

Luckily some loon started a murty your a c*** song to which everyone joined in and him signalling a crying face. Sounds like he has a good sense of humour then, good lad.
CFSFC Posted 22 October, 2011 Author Posted 22 October, 2011 Take it that you're a knob. Take that as a no. Armchair fan.
SaintNeil90 Posted 22 October, 2011 Posted 22 October, 2011 What did he do? I take it he probably celebrated the Reading goal, which isn't suprising when he spent so long playing for them and was with us for 2 years if that. --- I am here: http://maps.google.com/maps?ll=51.509133,-0.751033
CFSFC Posted 22 October, 2011 Author Posted 22 October, 2011 Sounds like he has a good sense of humour then, good lad. Yeah really funny that he's on our pay role and cheering us losing. Hilarious that isn't it. Should give him a pay rise.
RobM Posted 22 October, 2011 Posted 22 October, 2011 Yeah really funny that he's on our pay role and cheering us losing. Hilarious that isn't it. Should give him a pay rise. We didn't lose.

Keep justifying it.
Thedelldays Posted 22 October, 2011 Posted 22 October, 2011 how precious is that OP....fuking hell sound like a brighton fan
Saint_clark Posted 22 October, 2011 Posted 22 October, 2011 Yeah really funny that he's on our pay role and cheering us losing. Hilarious that isn't it. Should give him a pay rise. Is he really? I didn't think Sky used pundits who were the employees of the teams they're watching.
CFSFC Posted 22 October, 2011 Author Posted 22 October, 2011 We didn't lose. Quite clearly we didn't, helmet
CFSFC Posted 22 October, 2011 Author Posted 22 October, 2011 Is he really? I didn't think Sky used pundits who were the employees of the teams they're watching. Stuart Holden for Bolton last few weeks. Always have injured players on.
CFSFC Posted 22 October, 2011 Author Posted 22 October, 2011 how precious is that OP....fuking hell sound like a brighton fan Yawn...
marc_saint Posted 22 October, 2011 Posted 22 October, 2011 He was sat above where I was stood and when the Reading fans cheered his name he gave them a wave. fair enough. When they chanted "Murtey Murtey whats the score?" he put up one finger to signify 1-0. fair enough When we changed "Murtey Murtey whats the score?" he put up one finger on each hand to signify 1-1. fair enough

Aardvark Posted 22 October, 2011 Posted 22 October, 2011 Take that as a no. Armchair fan. It's a sofa actually. But if you must open that boring "only a real fan if you're at the match" debate, I am a ST holder and get to about 8-10 away games a year, work permitting. If you've ever missed just ONE game then you're a hypocrite. And your statements indicate that you're still a knob.
Saint_clark Posted 22 October, 2011 Posted 22 October, 2011 Stuart Holden for Bolton last few weeks. Always have injured players on. I can't find any evidence that he played for the reserves last week, or that he coaches for us. Or that he is even involved with the club anymore (although I remember rumours that he was being allowed to use the training facilities to get himself fit).
RobM Posted 22 October, 2011 Posted 22 October, 2011 He was sat above where I was stood and when the Reading fans cheered his name he gave them a wave. fair enough. When they chanted "Murtey Murtey whats the score?" he put up one finger to signify 1-0. fair enough When we changed "Murtey Murtey whats the score?" he put up one finger on each hand to signify 1-1. fair enough Well that answers the question about the OP being a knob then. This and the seemingly made up comment about Murty being a SFS employee.
beatlesaint Posted 22 October, 2011 Posted 22 October, 2011 (edited) I can't find any evidence that he played for the reserves last week, or that he coaches for us. Or that he is even involved with the club anymore (although I remember rumours that he was being allowed to use the training facilities to get himself fit). Well read the West Ham program then and look at the match report for the U21s v Exeter. There is your evidence for one part of your response. And Sky frequently use players who are out of their teams injured or suspended. Steve Gerrard to name but one. Come on Clarky keep up ffs :-) Edited 22 October, 2011 by beatlesaint

Its in the echo online today. http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/9320738.Murty_predicts_Championship_classic/?ref=mr I'm OK with it, he clearly had divided loyalties today.
Saint137 Posted 22 October, 2011 Posted 22 October, 2011 He's a Reading legend, with a footnote to his career at Saints.
Super_Saint Posted 22 October, 2011 Posted 22 October, 2011 Over 300 appearances for Reading and 6 for us. Cheers when Reading score, shock horror. Never welcome in Southampton again? boohoo
NickG Posted 22 October, 2011 Posted 22 October, 2011 Yeah whilst playing for our reserves last week and being paid by us for coaching... Keep justifying it. don't think he is on our payroll. Think you have that wrong.
doddisalegend Posted 22 October, 2011 Posted 22 October, 2011 Oh give it a rest he will always be a Reading man he spent most of his football life there. So f ucking what if he celebrated their goal. Must all our staff be SFC fans? As it is tonight he will be comforting our captain at his house.
Windmill Arm 2 Posted 22 October, 2011 Posted 22 October, 2011 Should never be welcome at SFC again. HelmetTis you who is the helmet.
krissyboy31 Posted 22 October, 2011 Posted 22 October, 2011 IIRC Graham was a Reading fan, who worked for several years. Openly said that the only time when he wouldn't be cheering on Saints was when they played Reading. Fair enough IMO!
Raging Bull Posted 22 October, 2011 Posted 22 October, 2011 Better not let CFSFC know Hammond's staying at Murty's place tonight, he'll think it's a stitch up!!!!
doughnutman Posted 22 October, 2011 Posted 22 October, 2011 How do you know Hammond is staying with Murty?
RobM Posted 22 October, 2011 Posted 22 October, 2011 How do you know Hammond is staying with Murty? Murty said so post-match, he made a comment about not being too hard on him since he is staying at his place.
saintscottofthenortham Posted 22 October, 2011 Posted 22 October, 2011 Should never be welcome at SFC again. Helmet You have always come across as a helmet yourself. Perhaps you could could start a club with the guy who spent so many years with his club that he cheered there goal.
dune Posted 22 October, 2011 Posted 22 October, 2011 Hark at all the gobby plastics that weren't even there.
Jimmy_D Posted 22 October, 2011 Posted 22 October, 2011 He's a Reading fan, and played for them for a long long time. AFAIK He's not currently on our payroll, but we are letting him train with us while he tries to recover from his injury, for which he's very very grateful to us, but he's still Reading at heart.
doddisalegend Posted 22 October, 2011 Posted 22 October, 2011 Hark at all the gobby plastics that weren't even there. for such an well seasoned troll that ones pretty poor .........C- must try harder
dune Posted 22 October, 2011 Posted 22 October, 2011 for such an well seasoned troll that ones pretty poor .........C- must try harder I was there, as was the OP, but of course cyber fans like you know best.
doddisalegend Posted 22 October, 2011 Posted 22 October, 2011 I was there, as was the OP, but of course cyber fans like you know best. LOL still going to have do better......your trolliness seems to be slipping
supersonic Posted 22 October, 2011 Posted 22 October, 2011 Should never be welcome at SFC again. Helmet Get over yourself FFS! it's knobheads like you who really irritate me. Let me guess, you boo'd Mills from your armchair? He spent over 10 years at Reading so obviously has affection for them. I was at the game so don't know what his summary was but he always seems quite neutral and reasonable.

Had nothing but nice things to say about saints on the telly. If you were at the game (as was the OP and Dune -massive pat on the back for Dune) surely you saw Murty wildly celebrating Readings goals in such a disgraceful manner..............
St Chalet Posted 22 October, 2011 Posted 22 October, 2011 I like Murty. He is a good old-fashioned pro, looked good in the few games he played for us and is always very positive about our club. I remember whe he captained Reading to their Championship win, The victory parade went through Reading town-centre on a Sunday. I happened to be in our office there at the time. The office was on the first floor, so at eye level to the open-top bus. I was watching as they went my, Murty caught my eye and gestured for me to smile, I mouthed back " Saints fan mate" he laughed and pointed it out to the rest of the Reading team much to their amusement. A decent lad, having a laugh IMHO. The point is, he had some great times there and spent most of his career with them, bit harsh for anyone to have it in for him for having a soft spot for them.

Pretty sure they only scored one (non-plural). HTH
Dr Who? Posted 22 October, 2011 Posted 22 October, 2011 Reading legend!! They love him, and he loves reading. Paul Scoles has always been a huge Oldham fan, but I do not really think meant that he game less than 100% for Man U. I remember him saying once that He did a job for Man U, but felt really sad that they beat Oldham!!
Micky Posted 22 October, 2011 Posted 22 October, 2011 Is this thread for real, do we really have such helmet fans?
Justin C Posted 23 October, 2011 Posted 23 October, 2011 Should never be welcome at SFC again. Helmet You clearly don't understand football. People have soft spots for teams.
SuperMikey Posted 23 October, 2011 Posted 23 October, 2011 Graeme is, by all accounts, a nice bloke. He shops in a Tesco not far from where I grew up, and myself and a few of my Reading supporting friends have bumped into him on more than one occasion and he's always been very nice. I believe he's involved with youth coaching at SFC at the moment, as well as getting a run-out the other day for match fitness. Wasn't he linked with a move to Bournemouth a few months ago?
niceandfriendly Posted 23 October, 2011 Posted 23 October, 2011 think some posters are forgetting there will always be a small section of fans inspired by Football Factory where anyone who "fakin steps outa line gets a fakin smack. he fakin cheered a redin' goal? muggy little cahnt DO HIM". That sort of stuff. it's not big and it's not clever cfsfc and tory boy. have a cup of tea and enjoy life.
