Ex Ringwood Saint Posted 22 October, 2011 Share Posted 22 October, 2011 You can park opposite the stadium, in several company car parks that are used weekends I believe.. However getting out after the game can be a nightmare...last time I went it took over an hour to get off the third story of one car park..since the works at junction 11 have finished, it has improved though... Saint137 Posted 22 October, 2011 Share Posted 22 October, 2011 Pretty sure you can't use the Park and Ride on a matchday. There are a few places on the trading estates around there that do parking for a fiver, best to use ones the M4 side of the ground if you can or on the old A33. If you don't mind a short walk the quickest getaway will be from anywhere south of the M4. Very little on-street parking in that area unfortunately, its a complete mare of a ground to get to. Lived in Reading for ten years and I could never be bothered with the hassle of seeing Saints away there. Reading supporting mates get to the ground early and leave late because of the traffic. The (park and ride) buses back in to town after the game aren't much help either - they tend to prioritise Reading fans and take an age because of the traffic (almost quicker to walk). Its about a 30-minute walk if you park in the town centre car parks (Oracle or Chatham Street) - distance I would say is from St Marys to the foot of Lances Hill or the other side of the Itchen Bridge. No boozers on route either.
