tpbury Posted 22 October, 2011 Share Posted 22 October, 2011 Wasn't that boxing clip linked to from here? Therefore NA reads this. Therefore NA - you are making a lot of people round the world very happy, such as my dad. He always phones me for the result, as internet is a bit beyond him, and he's chuffed to bits as well as being staggered at how well Saints are doing. Nice one, Nige! That boxing clip was linked her because Adkins said he made the team watch it.
STEVEADAMS Posted 22 October, 2011 Share Posted 22 October, 2011 A great read, only 13 months and he is part of the family indeed. Well done to all, but let's keep it going. COYR.
doddisalegend Posted 22 October, 2011 Share Posted 22 October, 2011 Seems like the press are starting to notice a nice article. Though I have to say their write up of tuesday's game against West ham is pretty rubbish http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/competitions/championship/8835067/Southampton-1-West-Ham-United-0-match-report.html

Though I have to say their write up of tuesday's game against West ham is pretty rubbish http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/competitions/championship/8835067/Southampton-1-West-Ham-United-0-match-report.html Did mention in the post match reaction thread that for SOME obscure reason the DT decided to send one of their two GOLF corrspondents to SMS to write the report on the game. I know it bores many, but when the golfing Race to Dubai thingy happens in first week of December I will find him and verbally beat the proverbial sh1t out of him for that. The NA one is a good article by a football man though. Still, lol at the Jordan SIbley Tweet about the Press Conference this week, must have been really busy for a change! CB Saint Posted 22 October, 2011 Share Posted 22 October, 2011 Great read. Our Nige is a clever operator - he continually use the phrases like "winning mentality" in every interview I read, and if you say it enough people begin to believe, fans, players, staff everyone. This is probably the his greatest acheivement - he has convinced everyone at the club that they can beat anyone who takes the pitch against us. oldsarum Posted 22 October, 2011 Share Posted 22 October, 2011 great atricle, Jeremy Wilson used to work for the Daily Echo and often gives Saints good write up's
rudi7s Posted 22 October, 2011 Share Posted 22 October, 2011 Great read that. Jeremy is also a Saints fan and wrote a book not so long ago about Southampton legends.

MongoNeil Posted 22 October, 2011 Share Posted 22 October, 2011 He WILL become one of the greatest English managers of all time I reckon. I just hope he does it with Saints.
Charlie Wayman Posted 22 October, 2011 Share Posted 22 October, 2011 We've won nothing yet! As Nigel would have us say, let's draw a blue line under everything that we have achieved so far and concentrate on the only thing that matters, the game at Reading today. It's that simple really! Tamesaint Posted 22 October, 2011 Share Posted 22 October, 2011 We've won nothing yet! QUOTE] I would have thought that winning promotion from League 1 counts as something. Or are you talking about Arsenal again??

Saint137 Posted 22 October, 2011 Share Posted 22 October, 2011 Its simple stuff really, isn't it? Five positives, one negative, move on, be positive and if you say it enough it will happen. Same as bringing up kids really - emphasise and reward the positive behaviours more than bollock the negative ones.

If I'd have read that a few seconds earlier it would have been a gob full of Pinot Grigio over the screen moment - luckily like a good girl I had swallowed every last drop. Saint137 Posted 22 October, 2011 Share Posted 22 October, 2011 Prompted me to check Wikipedia for Alf Ramsey (an ex Saint of course) and I hadn't realised that he took Ipswich up as champions from Div2 and the following season won the League Championship. Interesting parallels perhaps?

I was taught that you have to say 7 positive things to one negative if you want the recipient to take the message on board in a positive manner. I will go back to my teacher and tell him that he is wrong. If Nigel does it 5:1 rather than 7:1, then five it is!!

Be careful, I used to manage the most arrogant girl in the world and would also ways aim to say something positive before trying to change her attitude but all she ever heard was the positive...
