That title will get the Brighton fans going again...

Saturday is a big game. We need to really notch up an away win and if, IF, things go our way could be 8 points clear.

Unfortunately Boro and Derby play each other so the most we can be ahead is 7 points if these two draw.

So much for all those who say its unimportant and that there is no urgency to start preparations early.

To be honest I can't remember anyone saying that. All I can remember is there being a debate around 'we haven't signed a big name yet' and another debate about how important the results are. The preseason under Pardew seemed pretty good at the time (lots of spin on OS) and I was quite happy at the time but once the season got started there were injuries and it seemed pre season was blamed for that. NA clearly has a better relationship with the physios (not surprising really given his background) and has a more measured interpretation of pushing the players hard in pre season - which started the same time as it did under Pardew. The evidence suggests he has got it right. We've learnt. We've moved on. We've got it right. Hopefully.

Absolutely, and hopefully it'll put to bed once and for all the notion that you have to work the players as hard as possible to get them fit. It always was ********, and we've finally had a successful pre-season which has shown that.

I must say, I wasn't exactly overwhelmed when be appointed Adkins but he really has proved any doubters wrong.

I like everything about him and he seems the sort of man to have long term. Hope we see a return to the old days when managers stay for over 10 years. I would be delighted if Adkins is in charge for the foreseeable future

"Course we can win the league! Did you see west sham the other night? Second best team in the league you're have'n a laugh bloody hoofball merchants. We're f ucking Southampton who f ucking want's some? .....................well maybe not

I find myself doing a mental checklist as I watch them...

"blue line" - check

"hard working bunch" yep that's there..

"pulling together in the same direction" yep

"not about 11 players.." check..

Radio Solent presenters but get very bored of his interviews..

Still think he comes out looking good as a result though...

They seem to not realise the 'cup final' comment was last season. This season he agreed with the reporter that we are there to be shot as, because we're top of the league.

I look forward to their match day programme with some sarcastic 'Cup Final' headline

To be fair everyone in that thread apart from the OP agrees with you.

Lol at Poyet on Sky's Football League Weekend tonight. 'Somehow we're winning games'. Feck me, have you seen the quality of our football Gustavo? Not much hoofball in there matey.

Is this is the Poyet that said people would remember Brighton won the league 1 title for years to come? yet reading the WHU forum before our match the other night a WHU fan said about saints...

Also they have just come up and are running on the buzz of winning a lesser division, one blip and the confidence will drain. Very important game this evening

Who's going down to the Amex to get our trophy back? Will break poor Poyet's heart that will people forgetting who one last seasons league title.
