Britttherainking Posted 18 October, 2011 Share Posted 18 October, 2011 How come Pompey seem to feature on the DAB radio station more often than Saints (Maybe always - only just noticed last few games) when both clubs are playing? Saints seem to get the FM frequency - which gets a worse reception...?? Why, when we are top, and have a bigger supporter base (I would argue basing on attendances)? Any ideas? Britttherainking Posted 18 October, 2011 Author Share Posted 18 October, 2011 just reminds me of the old Meridan News bias...
DrZuess1979 the 2nd Posted 18 October, 2011 Share Posted 18 October, 2011 Isn`t it because we`re on the main fm signal (96.1)?

wimbornesaint Posted 18 October, 2011 Share Posted 18 October, 2011 Saints have a wider coverage area on 96.1, good reception in East Dorset/Bournemouth, Salisbury etc. Would have no chance of receiving the Hampshire DAB this far away!
the saint in winchester Posted 18 October, 2011 Share Posted 18 October, 2011 I think it is. But guys, I'm listening in DAB through my digibox on Radio 5 Live Sports Extra. Re-tune, it's great. Only problem is that Steve Claridge seems to think we don't deserve to be ahead! Don't care, Steve, we are ahead!! Get over it.
Whitey Posted 18 October, 2011 Share Posted 18 October, 2011 To be fair. I think FM radio is still considered the primary method of broadcasting.
Benj Posted 18 October, 2011 Share Posted 18 October, 2011 FM is the better one to be on. It better stay that way as well, I work Tuesday nights and no chance of a digital radio in the van, has to stick to FM!
adrian lord Posted 18 October, 2011 Share Posted 18 October, 2011 FM is simply far better sound quality, especially for music, than that ultra-compressed DAB ****e. The whole digital thing is an utter con. And vinyl records played on a good system **** on Cds, MP3s, and all the rest of that crap.

Ditto. 96.1 received well North of Winchester. Hampshire DAB - no chance.
