Colinjb Posted 17 October, 2011 Share Posted 17 October, 2011 It would be the death of English football if that went ahead. It would surely necessitate a split from the FA to happen... and therefore also UEFA and FIFA. That may ensure it doesn't happen.
pap Posted 17 October, 2011 Share Posted 17 October, 2011 Promotion and relegation are essential for the sport to remain fresh.

Window Cleaner Posted 17 October, 2011 Share Posted 17 October, 2011 http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/15336398.stm Thoughts? It just shows how much these lads understand about English football. The idea being that at some fixed point in time you make an EPL of 20 fixed clubs for ever;no ins, no outs. Next they'll be asking for an annual draft of players from lower leagues to make up the numbers in their "franchises". System just could not work,in fact why don't they all just f*ck off and buy into the NFL.
Super_Uwe Posted 18 October, 2011 Share Posted 18 October, 2011 I doubt very much that is what will happen, but the Premier League is all about money, money and more money. You can't rule anything out quite frankly, especially after the recent grumblings about the bigger clubs being able to sell their own TV rights. Dr Who? Posted 20 October, 2011 Share Posted 20 October, 2011 NEVER HAPPEN.....would not make any sense and would mean that only a handful of clubs would have something to play for. This is just another example of football being more about s business, now what business would not want a min £40million payment every year??
