Raging Bull Posted 18 October, 2011 Posted 18 October, 2011 Got a feeling De Ridder will start tonight.
saints-cris Posted 18 October, 2011 Posted 18 October, 2011 Wondering this myself - Echo says we are hopeful. Well, yes, we are all hopefull..... Is THEVMAN or Weston about at all? They usually know?? Wonder if its mind games by Saints, playing up that he wont be fit. Ya never know..!
sambosa75 Posted 18 October, 2011 Posted 18 October, 2011 Where has this love-in for John Carew come from? He's an absolute donkey.
warsash saint Posted 18 October, 2011 Posted 18 October, 2011 Got a feeling De Ridder will start tonight. Looking at his twitter from earlier, i think he may be

London Saint Posted 18 October, 2011 Posted 18 October, 2011 Where has this love-in for John Carew come from? He's an absolute donkey. please dont say things like this...its just asking for him to score against us
sandwichsaint Posted 18 October, 2011 Posted 18 October, 2011 Well if anyone does know either way about AL let's hope they have the good sense not to post it up here mid-afternoon. Was I the only one who was a little miffed to be reading that AL was out while making my way to the match at 13.55 on Saturday? Fair play to the guy that posted it up, obviously ITK and all that, but that and announcing the replacements too is a bit too much IMHO. Let's hope we are not sliding back towards a Puncheon/left back situation again? I think Warnock had something similar to say over the weekend about one of their 'fans' who posted up injuries and team changes on the Friday afternoon.

I see they've had that situation at QPR of late as well, not casting aspersions though.Twitter ?? I see that Cotterill is going to fine them £1000 a word for that at Forest.....or so he says.
100%Red&White Posted 18 October, 2011 Posted 18 October, 2011 It's the best part of 40 years since I first set foot inside the Dell and this period of our history is as good as any before up, there with the mid/late 70s and the Keegan era. Watching this team is a joy and I'm bang up for this game tonight, full stadium, top-2 clash, under lights. Good times (and most of them outside the top flight).
eelpie Posted 18 October, 2011 Posted 18 October, 2011 "Almunia: Southampton game like facing Barcelona": http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/news/West-Ham-Manuel-Almunia-compares-crunch-trip-Southampton-to-facing-Barcelona-in-Champions-League-final-with-Arsenal-article814523.html?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter lol -what he was actually quoted as saying was not quite so flattering: "The Championship’s style and quality may be different from a Champions League final, but I enjoy playing football *whatever the category." We're not getting carried away. 6-0 to Saints would do just fine after that (lol). In reality I will be quite pleased with a 3-3 draw after a thrilling and hard game. And a credit to CC football.
Raging Bull Posted 18 October, 2011 Posted 18 October, 2011 Why do some of you seem so keen to take a draw, they aren't world beaters. If we play well we will win.
ottery st mary Posted 18 October, 2011 Posted 18 October, 2011 Saints win 4-1 and Hammond will be in midfield with Cork. De Ridder to start please.. Spiderman and Chaplow from the bench.. If Lallana not playing......Guly Davis Richardson or Butterfield if not fit Fonte Jos Fox De Ridder Hammond Cork Lallana or Guly if not fit Connolly Lambert WIFM
trousers Posted 18 October, 2011 Posted 18 October, 2011 If we play well we will win. We played well against Derby but didn't win.

keithd Posted 18 October, 2011 Posted 18 October, 2011 Will I need an overcoat? I'll have a suit jacket on. Dont want to get chilly
Wade Garrett Posted 18 October, 2011 Posted 18 October, 2011 I think you need to check the definition of 'journeyman' considering DH has only been signed to 3 clubs his whole career. I also think Hammond has had a great season and you're completely wrong. I have in the past been a fierce critic of Hammond. But he has well and truly proved me wrong this season. He's been excellent.

I'm really looking forward to this game as well, but have a bad feeling that Allardyce will set his side up to stop us playing and it will be like some of those games in the last two seasons where teams set themselves up to prevent our passing game. Bad to watch and frustrating for the crowd, but typical Allardyce. Hope I'm wrong, but at least we have good experience in breaking down sides.
captainchris Posted 18 October, 2011 Posted 18 October, 2011 Just your opinion. I was there and thought he was very good. Their defence was terrified of his pace and it left a hell of a lot of space for Lambert and Lallana. De Ridder has put in excellent crosses and shows great movement. He'll get better as he gels with the other players more. We'll all allowed an opinion of course but 'invisible' is, IMO, bewildering. Yes it's a game of opinions........At least I must congratulate you on keeping the opinion friendly. Who ever plays, tonight is a biggy and in Nigel we trust......
Mattio Posted 18 October, 2011 Posted 18 October, 2011 Just spoke to theticket office, they only have singles left now!

dannysfc Posted 18 October, 2011 Posted 18 October, 2011 Will be leaving for the game in around 40-45 mins as I'm going with my Mate who I have a ST with n were getting the Bus in and then walking down to the Stadium and I for one am looking forward to tonight and am sticking to my guns with the 2-1 prediction to Saints as well! Will also be Good to look out to a close capacity ground as well! COYR !!!
saint_disco123 Posted 18 October, 2011 Posted 18 October, 2011 If we believe that we can win then we can, Stop going on about draws and focus on winning! COYR!
SNSUN Posted 18 October, 2011 Posted 18 October, 2011 I'd be inclined to say their strikers are better than ours overall but I think Connolly will be itching to get one over on his former club. Hope their fans don't boo him.
Um Bongo Posted 18 October, 2011 Posted 18 October, 2011 That's a big blow then. De Ridder to step up tot the mark.
Saint Fan CaM Posted 18 October, 2011 Posted 18 October, 2011 Mmm, can't see this being a low scoring game - I reckon 3-2 either way. On balance of probability I would have to say they will do us - possibly 2-4 even. Will be a great game though if the officials are up for it.

thorpie the sinner Posted 18 October, 2011 Posted 18 October, 2011 No he isn`t BALLS!!!! How long are we looking at? he would have made a big big difference tonight!
Window Cleaner Posted 18 October, 2011 Posted 18 October, 2011 cork dropped..? must have a knock Probably, although I didn't think he looked all that great on Saturday but as I am well aware I don't ever see the same game as anyone else.
Window Cleaner Posted 18 October, 2011 Posted 18 October, 2011 BALLS!!!! How long are we looking at? he would have made a big big difference tonight! I've kinda noticed that when Adam goes out injured it's usually for a couple of games at least.
Thedelldays Posted 18 October, 2011 Posted 18 October, 2011 Why is Cork on the bench? weird. not really...nigel is big on the squad thing and hammond was on the bench against derby...morgan will probably be benched against reading the players simply cannot play every single game
James Posted 18 October, 2011 Posted 18 October, 2011 Would rather have seen cork in tonight and benched for reading if that is the reason. He's our best cm and this is our toughest game!
Saint_Jonny Posted 18 October, 2011 Posted 18 October, 2011 Hammond in for cork seems mental to me. Not that I think Hammond can't do a good job, its just Cork was BRILLIANT against Derby until he was moved to right back.

Saint_Jonny Posted 18 October, 2011 Posted 18 October, 2011 maybe he is just not 100%...? I'd imagine that is the case, and that is fine, just a bit disappointed!
JoeShmoe Posted 18 October, 2011 Posted 18 October, 2011 Cork must have a knock, not sure about that midfield, looks very one paced. Would like to see SDR start
paris Posted 18 October, 2011 Posted 18 October, 2011 I think we mainly agree that NA knows whet he's doing however surprised Cork is on the bench...
