dubai_phil Posted 16 October, 2011 Share Posted 16 October, 2011 To have a stream for the game. Big thanks to Saint Clark for finding it for us regular DM listeners. It gave us a chance to see once and for all how far we have really come on as a team. Yes we all enjoyed the first game of the season against Leeds but watching how we applied relentless pressure, and the short passing moves for a second time just showed that we weren't a flash in the pan. We do look the real deal, we aren't world beaters by any stretch but felt a huge pang of jealousy that you regulars are able to go and watch us play football like that week in and week out. Now, if only our midfielders could take the chances that our forwards are setting up for them
suewhistle Posted 16 October, 2011 Share Posted 16 October, 2011 Seconded! Nice to have an English commentary, and very complimentary about us too, so didn't miss my regular esson on Rumanian football language. Couldn't say thanks yesterday as my subscription has run out. (PS Steve, I've sent you an email). I thought our ball retention was good, very few wasted passes, although penetration and finishing still lacking a bit. Not sure why people on another thread are moaning about atmosphere: maybe the mikes were well placed but sounded good on the box. What chance of a stream for the WH game? niceandfriendly Posted 16 October, 2011 Share Posted 16 October, 2011 I managed to watch about 45 minutes in total, the connection wasn't great over here. But from what I saw we looked comfortable and dominant.
saints-cris Posted 16 October, 2011 Share Posted 16 October, 2011 Agreed, got to see the whole second half no problem. SO impressed with how we play, cant wait to see us in action next 2 games live.
saints_is_the_south Posted 16 October, 2011 Share Posted 16 October, 2011 Watched it live on Al Jazeera's sport network which I have at home, nice bonus. They show a live Championship game most Saturday's, so the longer we stay at the top the more they might show of us.

Saint_clark Posted 16 October, 2011 Share Posted 16 October, 2011 It's actually Clash City Saint from the Saints Abroad forum that found it; The Football League Show is stating coverage of DC v Saints on Sat. night so the game should be found on http://www.firstrowsports.tv/ I've found all the other main featured games on TFLS here, check on the day. And Jonnyboy that copied it into this one. I just spread it about once I knew it was working. At any rate, it was pretty cool - and even more so for those of you abroad. I don't know how you bear it, in all honesty. I'd go mental.
Ohio Saint Posted 16 October, 2011 Share Posted 16 October, 2011 I gave thanks in the other two threads it appeared in, and give thanks in this one too. It was really special to be able to watch a game again at last. It was very encouraging to see just how well we can play, and gives some valuable insight into what we will only be hearing about in future commentaries. latter day saint Posted 16 October, 2011 Share Posted 16 October, 2011 was great to watch the game with English commentary. i may be wrong but i'm sure it was the same commentary i heard on the Football League show last night as well ?
Saint_clark Posted 16 October, 2011 Share Posted 16 October, 2011 was great to watch the game with English commentary. i may be wrong but i'm sure it was the same commentary i heard on the Football League show last night as well ? Interesting point - I thought the same, but there's no doubt in my mind that they must have re-recorded it. The blokes voice sounded very different, but he said (word for word) the same things as the original commentator. Then I noticed on FLS that he pronounced Gulys name correctly - whereas in the live commentary he pronounced it "Do Pranto".
markr27 Posted 16 October, 2011 Share Posted 16 October, 2011 Watched the first half clear as a bell (99-100 signal strength throughout) on the Sopcast link with foreign commentary, but it dropped out at the start of the second half. Swapped to the English commentary version and it was excellent, although somewhat fuzzy on a 40" TV
S-Clarke Posted 16 October, 2011 Share Posted 16 October, 2011 It was a great watch. We really aren't a flash in the pan, this isn't the ''momentum'' from last year carrying on. This is how good we actually are and it's going to be a fun season. How some of you overseas guys saw us play yesterday is how we play most weeks. It's a joy to watch. redkeith Posted 16 October, 2011 Share Posted 16 October, 2011 It was good, although I had the solent commentary on, in case the feed went, which was 5 seconds ahead, so I knew Feilding would save the Guly shot. The feed broke up for the last 15 minutes, any techies out their have any ideas why. Could it be my line speed slowing down, or does the feed build up a lot of temporary internet files that gradually slow down the buffering ? Thank you Saint Clark for the credit. As an exile in Portugal I've managed to keep my Sky Sports access and I'm able to watch everything I had access to at 'home' but for anyone out of reach of BBC etc this is a really great site as they show MOTD, TFLS, the League cup show and even MOTD2 along with about every televised game around the world. Every Prem game is shown live with one from the Championship every Sat at 3. So fingers crossed us ex-pats and arm-chair supporters will be watching every Saints game next season in the Prem. http://www.firstrowsports.tv/

svetigpung Posted 16 October, 2011 Share Posted 16 October, 2011 The game was also shown live on cable in Sweden , where they do a championship game each saturday. As the title said , it was nice yesterday to watch us again and we certainly dominated them. How can Derby be top five? Hoping we can get saints next week when its the late k-o Sky game.
