11 games, 23 points = >2 pts per game = promotion form. Keep that up and all other views or arguments are, quite frankly, irrelevant.

This is the manipulation of statistics on a criminal scale. Truth is Saints have taken a meagre 2pts from 12 on the road which is frankly woeful and most definitely not promotion form - as a few slip-ups at home will soon confirm

How is it manipulation? We are averaging more than 2 points per game. Fact. If we keep it up we will probably get promoted. Fact. If we keep winning at home and not losing (i.e drawing or winning) away we will continue to average 2 points a game at least. We may dip below 2 pts, we may bob along slightly above at times, but evtything thus far says we can average 2 pts + pet game. To say anything else would be manipulation, friend. Just because what I stated doesn't fit your negative agenda doesn't make it manipulation. Read what I originally wrote again, objectively, and come back and tell me what I was manipulating. I shan't wait up for you.

A valid point.

Our home form cant last forever, however much we hope. When that changes, so will our position in the table.

Manipulation of the stats is wonderful isn't it? The truth is that we have taken 8 points from 18 - not that bad a return in this league if you ask me.

No, and our away form will change as well, we will win quite a few, it will be the average that counts and 2 per game will do thanks.

are you still taking bets that we will finish 17th?

I've asked about placing a wager with you a few times - but guessed you'd changed your mind about our likely finishing position

Haven't changed my mind at all ! Not at all. But, do come all self righteous if we finish 16th or 15th will you !

Those who say we could have won, if only are right, of course........if only the offside goal had been disallowed, if only their GK hadn't saved one of the on-target shots........ But we could have lost, despite bossing most of the game........ if their GK had managed to get a touch on the shot that Rickie scored from, or if another of their chances had gone in.

There's always an element of luck and it goes both ways. It's a fact of football life that no team can expect to win every game, and when we don't win a draw is better than a loss. And a draw away to one of the top 6 sides is a better place to drop a couple of points than in some other games. So, I regret not winning but I'm pleased with a draw.

Self-evident really, just as every other team's home form will not be 100% perfect. West Ham have already lost at home, and drawn; Boro have drawn quite a few at home scoring precious few, and Derby could not beat us at their place. Nobody is predicting that everything will go our way, home or away, for the whole season, nor that we are entitled to win every home or away game.

The point is, why look for negatives when - as things stand - we have made our best start in a generation and are averaging 2 points + per game? Of course things are going to go tits up at some point, of course we will have a losing run; one would have to be a cretin of the first water not to think so. However, most people on here and who, like me, go to games believe that this team - Adkins' team - is capable of doing the business. And if we don't, well - it won't be for want of trying or great passing football, and it won't be for want of positive thought.

If our home form can't last forever, neither is it inevitable that our away form won't improve...

That said, I am annoyed at all the missed opportunities and hope they don't come back to haunt us later in the season.

A very enjoyable game and both sides will be happy(ish) with a point. We came out of the traps better and got an early goal. That goal was borderline but I think it stood because a referee's assistant actually followed the instructions he's supposed to follow. Namely, if in doubt give the benefit of the doubt to the attacker. I've frozen the action from 2 different angles. It's very borderline. Even if it was just offside, it's the swings and roundabouts of a season. We lost to Burnley but had a goal not given that was a good foot over the line. We lost at Coventry to a penalty that should never have been given....... hopefully these things will even up over a season.

After our goal, the Saints played some good stuff and could have scored more than you did. Once the scores were level we upped our game and had the better of the last 20 minutes and maybe should have nicked it. That would, however, have been an injustice. Over the 90 a draw was probably the right result. If you keep on performing like that you'll be there or thereabouts come May. We lack too much to win the League this year. We have 2 decent backup LB's but no real 1st choice there. Brayford is a cracking RB but we have no real cover for him. We need a good CM playmaker and a striker who can hold the ball up.

Whatever happens this season I hope we dont meet in the playoffs again.

BTW - now I'm back on here, how's Dan Seaborne progressing. The attack on him was cowardly. I hope he's soon fit to play again.

Listen you smelly troll. I don't give a rat's ass if we win just 5 games away all season. If we're still top 2, you carry on trolling. Manipulation my ass
