boxosponge Posted 15 October, 2011 Share Posted 15 October, 2011 sat in The Flowerpot where I shall get well bladdered. Draw was a fair result: point gained in my mind. Thought we had too little width to really pose them problems, despite our possession. If you can listen to the BBC Derby summary on Iplayer you will hear heaps of praise from Nigel Clough and literally all callers. We are touted as certainties for promotion and they need a atriker like RL

Saint_clark Posted 15 October, 2011 Author Share Posted 15 October, 2011 I think its a bloomin good result. Will it sell out tues? Most definitely, there's only 1500 left...if you checked the OS more often you'd know that
saint_jas Posted 15 October, 2011 Share Posted 15 October, 2011 Just back from the game, would have definitely taken a point before the match unlucky not to win it. Saints fans were superb, a lot better than my last away match at Burnley. Ref ****ing useless.
Saint Luke Posted 15 October, 2011 Share Posted 15 October, 2011 I'm very happy as predicted 1-1 and am now top of the prediction league, but I must say I would rather we had won and I wasn't. as many people say, it's great to be a saints fan at the moment, unless of course you are 'that' troll!! Ive read some absolute ****e on here, but this one comment proves to me that you are in fact a troll. 2 points dropped FFS!? I didnt read anywhere in the T & Cs of this site, specifically post-match reactions, that only positive comments were permitted. I feel 2 points were dropped. Deal with it. We dropped two points in an otherwise good performance. Deal with it!

aintforever Posted 15 October, 2011 Share Posted 15 October, 2011 Excellent point, smash the Hammers on Tues and we could be 5 clear. Just hope Lallana's injury is not too bad, losing him for a long time would be a massive blow.

alpine_saint Posted 15 October, 2011 Share Posted 15 October, 2011 (edited) Absolutely, it's a start beyond anyone's widest dreams. Which is why Apline's comments are creating such a reaction, which TBF is probably what he wants as he's just a troll. Why are you so bigotted that you cant possibly accept that its my genuine-held opinion ? A large number of you were banging on in the first half about us playing fantastic. The return we got for that play was an equaliser, nothing more. If we were so great, we should have scored again after equallising, shouldnt we ? Add to the fact we conceded within 3 minutes, and I simply dont get how anybody cannot conclude that we dropped 2 points. I am as delighted as anyone that we got promoted, and that we were sitting pretty at the top of the table 2 points clear at the international break. What you, and everyone else slagging me off seem reticent to realise, is that : - Our away form is poor; if we cant expect to win every game, it also seems unrealistic to expect us to win every home game too, which means we will go below 2pts per game - We dont seem to be able to get results over the other teams that will be there or thereabouts fighting with us for promotion - That having had such a great start, it is perfectly reasonable to adjust expectations upwards from being thankful if we can hold down our place in the Championship. I would have been happy in August with mid-table mediocrity, but considering the vibe going on at the club nowadays, conceding goals 3 mins in is a major let-down. Saint Without a Halo Posted 15 October, 2011 Share Posted 15 October, 2011 Perhaps sides aren't in the Top 6 because we've tonked them, difficult to stay there when you get beaten. Absoloutely right particulalry so when only a few games played. It now appears after a few more games that the two sides we tonked early days namely Leeds and Ipswich are two of the form sides in the division and right back there amongst it

doddisalegend Posted 15 October, 2011 Share Posted 15 October, 2011 and I also find it quite crazy that people expect us to be beating teams in the top 10, even though we've just been promoted. We weren't going to win every flaming week. There is nothing to moan about in terms of being a Saints fan at the mo, it's just fantastic to watch and to still see us top of the league. That's not the be all and end all for me, a top 6 finish would be a fantastic return to the championship. Let's not all get ahead of over selves. I think on reflection I was a little dissapointed with a point when the game finished we dominated for long peroids and gave away soft goal. Before the game I would have taken a point all things considered but we were the better team even without Adam. So a point is good but still i'm a little dissapointed. We're top of the table and haven't been out played by anyone yet so I actually don't think there's anything wrong in expecting to win games. Nope, not trying to draw that conclusion at all. I am saying we are not getting critical results which we need for a sustained go at promotion. Anyway, what constitutes "playing well" is subjective. alpine_saint Posted 15 October, 2011 Share Posted 15 October, 2011 What were you doing in between posts today that meant you couldn't watch the free, no hassle, no downloads, good quality stream? I have a perfectly good explanation, but I am struggling to understand why I must justify my opinion to you and the rest of the site. I will be watching the Reading game, I took a susbcription out on an Austrian sat channel that shows NPC games. I saw the Leeds game and arranged my time to be free to watch the Brum game until it was moved. I also came over to watch the Millwal game. In addition, I was watching Millwall on a dodgy free stream last season at the beginning and my PC picked up a virus somehow, so I am a bit sceptical about these feeds nowadays. scotty Posted 15 October, 2011 Share Posted 15 October, 2011 I rarely post, although I visit the site regularly for any snippets of news etc. This Alpine guy, from what I can tell is the definition of a troll. Unfortunately as I guess I am doing by mentioning it the only way to deal with a troll is to totally ignore it. I have a feeling that even insulting it gives it the attention it craves. Well said. You should post more often imo. I always felt Alps got unfairly treated on here, but this spat is farcical. A good point against the third-placed side, in their own full stadium, it can only be a good one. Theres nothing to complain about from today, roll on tuesday night. saints-cris Posted 15 October, 2011 Share Posted 15 October, 2011 Watched the game on the interweb, some of our play is so impressive. We pass it around so quickly and its a joy to watch at times. I think we deserved the win, and yes we miss Lallana everytime he cant play, we still looked pretty good without him today. A point away at 3rd place is no bad feat without our golden boy. Win at home, draw away, were doing exactly that. Its hard not to get carried away as were top, but we did just get promoted! Lets not get carried away. I was surprised when Chaplow got taken off, he was buzzing around everywhere before he came off. Our Ricky is just quality, Fonte and Hooiveld were really good too. Only a point, but not a bad one at that. Now I cant wait to see us at home V West Ham and away at Reading.

NickG Posted 15 October, 2011 Share Posted 15 October, 2011 Lets not forget that Alpine thought our squad was weak last season and should settle for play offs. After 11 games last season Norwich had 20 points, after playing 6 home and 5 away. After 11 games we have 23 points, after playing 5 home and 6 away. Both of the teams who went up automatically last season drew 9 and lost 4 away. Reckon we have 54 more home points available, drawing away every game would give us another 17, added to our 23 so far would give us 94, that would do me! Away draws, particularly against top teams, are good results.
