Squire was interviewed by Mark Radcliffe on 6 music recently. Before he agreed to the interview he said that he'd only go on the show on the understanding that Stone Roses were not discussed at all. He issued a statement that said it was history and no longer relevent and was all about a time and a place which has now passed and should remain in the past.

Reni has issued this statement. "Not before 9T will I wear the hat 4 the Roses again". What does that mean? Is 9T referring to 9am, Tuesday?

Spoke to a mate who works in the music industry in Manchester. He says something is definitely happening and he knows some stuff but won't share what he knows until the official announcement on Tuesday. Hmmmm, not sure what to make of that.

I follow John Robb's music website Louder Than War. Robb is a Manc, and the site does a lot on the Manchester scene. They claim that the Roses have been rehearsing all summer, and that some journos know but have been told not to say anything. Having been present at Reading 96, I sincerely hope that if this is true, then it is the original line up, and that they have been rehearsing REALLY hard.

All respect I once had for the Stone Roses has disappeared.

World tour? It's all about the money..... how sad.

Give them a break it is not like that made a load of money last time. They were bent over and ****ed royally up the gary by Silvertone.

Fair play to them, they all grew up together, made great music, fell out over money and went their different ways, all doing well. Ian Brown has had a fantastic solo career and proved that he can stand on his own two feet.

They have all made up now, and are friends again. I would want to do the same in their shoes and make the masses happy. Why not, one life and all that!! It is going to be massive!!!

Give them a break. They didn't make a penny back in the day. They've not got back together to just play the hits, they're writing new material. There's absolutely no reason why they can't be bigger and better than they were back then.

The first album is rightfully one of the greatest albums of all time. The second album is also a masterpiece and hugely under rated. There's an awful lot of **** poor music around at the moment. The Stone Roses reunion has happened at exactly the right time. It's great to be really excited about a musical event like this. It's got people of all ages buzzing.

I saw them around '89 - '90 and again in '95. I've never experienced feeling a part of something special like I did at those shows. They've got something very special and a lot of bands wouldn't be around today if it wasn't for them.

It was nice of Liam and Noel to keep their seat warm whilst they were away.

There doesn't appear to be one. I've been checking other forums as well and there isn't anything.

On a Sunderland forum they were talking about it but the link/code was only being forwarded by PM. I've now got a meeting at 9.30 tomorrow morning and don't fancy my chances after that!!

Saw that and at those prices, I'm not going to bother. Reckon the gigs will be rubbish anyway.

Ian Brown has a terrible voice, though hopefully you won't be able to hear him as he'll be drowned out by 75,000 people, off their heads, singing-a-long.

Though I do worry about the sound getting a bit lost in such a vast, open arena.

I have seen Ian Brown 7 times, and the last time about a year ago his voice was the best I have heard it, but yes overall he does struggle to sing, but he is one of the best front men, and owns the stage.

Stone Roses on stage, I never thought I would see the day, and cannot wait!!! bring it on!!

I cannot see it being rubbish...ha ha ha!

You are right with the second part in my opinion, they would be better in a large inoor arena, but I am sure they will play in one. Saw Ian Brown at Somerset house, and it was the first time he covered Stone Roses stuff, and the crowd went nuts, just thinking of that x 100 = Fanbloodytastic!!

Got 4 tickets today for the Friday, which will be their first gig of the tour, so one of the first to see them.

O2 is ok, seen Metallica twice, Pearl Jam and ACDC there and were all really good gigs.

Also want to see the Roses there as well. So bring it on!!!
