Although I think there may be some merit in the Pardew-NUFC link coming to NC's attention, and AP's heart not being in the Saints job pre and early season 2010 there is a flaw in the timing of your explanation.

If "mid-season" this would be sometime 2009-10 when NUFC looked certs for promotion. Is it really suggested that they might have jeopardised that by sacking Hughton who had got them there and had player's support to bring in an unpopular 'London' type ?

It's not that unbelievable. They sacked Houghton after a decent enough start in the prem. They are also renown for making unpoplular decisions with the fan base, it doesn't seem to bother them that much.

pardew left because he treated all the staff like sh*te - he had no respect for anyone and didnt trust his coaches - he would set wilkins a task then come over and interfere all the tme - all the staff hated him - Markus and Cortese didnt like this as it didnt fit in with there vision of the culture they wanted wiithin the club. there was no big incident pardew and downes were all emailed to come in for a 8am meeting - cortese then rang wilkins to tell him he didnt need to come to the meeting and the other two are now history

There are a lot of things in this thread which have some validity, but I tend to agree now that it looks like a culmination of factors that did for Pardew.

Going back to last season, Markus did comment negatively about Pardew and I expect Pardew would have heard about this. Cortese did consider his options as to who was available before the end of the season but from his actions decided to stick with Pardew. Bearing in mind that Cortese left Pardew in no doubt about what he thought about prioritising the cups, I doubt Pardew felt very comfortable. I have little doubt Crotese decided Pardew would be here for the following season, but it would not have surprised me if Pardew never bought into that and was looking elsewhere.

Leading up to Pardews sacking there were several incidents. When medical and training staff goes to Cortese and tell him preseason is causing more problems than it is solving, something is way adrift. Cortese accepted Pardew was the manager and he got his way, with the responsibility for choosing that path. There seemed to be two distinct camps within side of the club, with some being warned it was detrimental to their health if they poked their nose in where it was not wanted. The first two home games of the season showed that something was way adrift of where we should be, bearing in mind the unrest during preseason. What were strange were the comments from Pardew after the midweek League cup game “It was not a priority game, but we treated it as such”? Just why the hell he would say that after he had half his arse chewed off previously by Cortese for this exact issue? Some players were rested but nothing like what you see from Adkins. Then Lallana breaks down at Bristol Rovers the following weekend, not to be seen again for 6 weeks. This was nothing to do with preseason, but there was a smarter option on the exploratory which would have been more effective.

When you see how things are working behind Adkins now, it’s as if Pardew was only using a fraction of what was available at his disposal. We had some great results under Pardew but always the underlying weakness that we could not keep the fitness up required for this style of play, irrespective of who the opposition was. So I can understand the logic of what he was trying to do in preseason, but he did more damage than good. There was a definite mismatch between Pardew and Reid, why I don’t know but believe it goes back a ways. When you look at all these small details and how Adkins maximizes what he gets from the club resources, there is little doubt in Cortese having taken the right action. There are several issues here, but the main one I hear Cortese reference is the preseason.

Okay then allegedly NUFC made an approach for AP mid season but were not prepared to pay the amount of compo that NC and ML wanted. After a few weeks they new that AP was treating all staff at SFC like s*it to try to work his ticket the final straw for NC was the Swiss trip when two players (one is a left winger the other is a Striker) told NC that AP and Agent x had tried to tap them up to go to NUFC with AP (Agent x is no longer an Agent but used to represent a certain player that cost LFC 35M) . I am not prepared to say anymore exept our owners are not the footballing norm i.e bent and are seen by some as Outsiders hence the reason why some signings don`t come off.

This is 100% and comes from a very very reliable contact. this is all alleged of course.

Just to fill in the blanks I assume we're talking about Lallana, Lambert and Peter Harrison.

It was to do with the players being worked too hard in pre season and pardew refusing to budge over his methods. Source? Aaron Martin.

Source as in "horses mouth" or source as in "someone told you" it came from Aaron Martin? Not dis-believing you, just trying to establish if a direct or indirect source. Cheers :-)
