The Kraken Posted 11 October, 2011 Share Posted 11 October, 2011 More importantly, how near fitness is he now? http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/page/PreviewDetail/0,,10280~2466686,00.html According to this article on the OS, he was in contention for the Watford game. As we weren't short of options I guess it wasn't worth risking him, so he could get another couple of weeks of fitness under his belt.
buctootim Posted 12 October, 2011 Share Posted 12 October, 2011 It has already been more than 12 months since Barnard, of ****** Way, ***** ******, Southampton, is alleged to have attacked a man in a Southampton nightspot. This really f/cks me off. Innocent until proven guilty, but the press publish his address. I never read the Echo and wouldn't have known anything about where he lives. Now I exactly where he lives because of what you wrote. Cuts both ways.
alpine_saint Posted 12 October, 2011 Share Posted 12 October, 2011 Trial postponed until March due to courtroom cock-up. http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/news/9298367.Saints_player_could_wait_months_for_trial/ This is a complete disgrace. Whatever happened to the right to have your day in court, and face your accusers ? If this really takes this long, he has been living 18MONTHS with this over his head. I reckon I would have topped myself. Besides, how can anyone#s testimony be regarded as accurate and not coached ??? I dont remeber stuff from 18mins ago some of the time. Britian really is a f**king Third World Country. 2 years for a hip replacement, 12 months for ear grommets, 18months for a "fair" trial. Embarassing. Saint_John Posted 12 October, 2011 Share Posted 12 October, 2011 If anybody had followed the link I posted last Friday to Salisbury Crown Court 1 (on the other Barnard thread) you would have seen the following was scheduled for Monday :- For Sentence...... - OHUANBOR James For Trial............. - Boney Thomas E For Trial (Backer). - Cooper Joshua R & Stone Sabri Not before 2:00 For Trial (Backer) - Barnard Lee J My thoughts When I did Jury Service a few years ago I got talking to the Clerk of the Court and asked him what happens if somebody changes their Plea and/or they come to some arrangement to plead Guilty to some less charge etc. He told me they have "Backer" cases that get "moved up" etc., but if they don't then the original trial takes place and the "backers" will usually start later that week or next week (if the Court room is available). The Judge will find out from both councils how long each side expects their case to go on for. In Lee's case the Echo said on Monday that it was expected to go on for 3 days, but that figure later became 5 days after it was postponed. Now I have looked at all the cases scheduled for Monday :- Ohuanbor 10/10/2011 Mon, For Sentence - Case Started - 11:06 at Court: 1 10/10/2011 Mon, For Sentence - Case adjourned until 11:55 - 11:41 at Court: 1 10/10/2011 Mon, For Sentence - Resume - 11:57 at Court: 1 Boney 10/10/2011 Mon, For Trial - Case Started - 10:55 at Court: 1 10/10/2011 Mon, For Trial - Resume - 15:01 at Court: 1 10/10/2011 Mon, For Trial - Resume - 15:05 at Court: 1 10/10/2011 Mon, For Trial - Prosecution Opening - 15:35 at Court: 1 10/10/2011 Mon, For Trial - Legal Submissions - 15:49 at Court: 1 10/10/2011 Mon, For Trial - Case adjourned until 10:00 - 15:59 at Court: 1 11/10/2011 Tue, Trial (Part Heard) - Resume - 10:02 at Court: 1 11/10/2011 Tue, Trial (Part Heard) - Case adjourned until 11:00 - 10:42 at Court: 1 11/10/2011 Tue, Trial (Part Heard) - Case adjourned until 11:45 - 10:42 at Court: 1 11/10/2011 Tue, Trial (Part Heard) - Resume - 12:01 at Court: 1 11/10/2011 Tue, Trial (Part Heard) - Hearing finished for THOMAS EDWARD BONEY - 13:01 at Court: 1 Cooper/Stone 10/10/2011 Mon, For Trial (Backer) - Case Started - 12:12 at Court: 1 10/10/2011 Mon, For Trial (Backer) - Case Started - 12:15 at Court: 1 10/10/2011 Mon, For Trial (Backer) - Resume - 13:02 at Court: 1 10/10/2011 Mon, For Trial (Backer) - Hearing finished for JOSHUA ROBERT WILLIAM COOPER - 13:09 at Court: 1 Barnard 10/10/2011 Mon, For Trial (Backer) - Case Started - 12:32 at Court: 1 10/10/2011 Mon, For Trial (Backer) - Case adjourned until 14:00 - 12:41 at Court: 1 What I think has happened (Monday) Recorder Malcolm QC has found out how long the Boney case will go on for, then dealt with the Ohuanbor sentence. He has then found out how long the Stone/Cooper & Barnard cases will go on for. There may have been some "change" in the Cooper/Stone case because he has them "back in" at 13:02 and the case is marked "Hearing Finished". At about 15:00 he starts with the Boney case. (Tuesday) Continues with the Boney case until lunchtime then the case is marked "Hearing Finished" at 13:01. The Court room is now free after lunch; Today it is due to handle an overflow case from Southampton http://www.courtserve.net/courtlists/current/crown/salis_T111012.01.htm IMO it appears there was room for a 3 day Court case this week (WThF) but the change to 5 days meant that it could not be scheduled this week (They were never going to fit a 5 day trial in this week with the other cases scheduled). What caused the case to increase from 3 to 5 days ? is the question.

anothersaintinsouthsea Posted 12 October, 2011 Share Posted 12 October, 2011 I dont think so.... Just picking a few of the closest NHS hospitals to me - waiting times for hip replacements: QA (Portsmouth) - GP referral to operation: 22 weeks St Marys (IOW) - 16 weeks St Richards (Chichester) - 18 weeks Royal South Hants (Southampton) - 12 weeks Southampton General - 21 weeks. So not brilliant by any means but not a Daily Express scareometer busting 2 years. http://www.nhs.uk/servicedirectories/Pages/ServiceSearch.aspx?ServiceType=Hospital
