Joesaint Posted 15 October, 2011 Share Posted 15 October, 2011 Disagree with is changing the game completely, Lallana is our best player but with De Ridder, Holmes or Chaplow and Gully coming back we should be able to cover it, its what the league is about - having the depth to deal with players injured/rested. Connolly is back as well isnt he. We are going to win this I feel it!!!!!! COYS Plus our defence is starting to really gell.

shurlock Posted 15 October, 2011 Share Posted 15 October, 2011 I can see... davis fox hoiveld fonte richardson chappers cork hammond de ridder guly lambert Yep, I'd go with Chaplow. Better not to give too much away early doors- and if we then need to go chasing the game, bring on Holmes.
InvictaSaint Posted 15 October, 2011 Share Posted 15 October, 2011 AL not fit to play today (foot injury)Chaplow to replace him. Do you know how serious the injury is? Is it a case of NA preferring not to risk him so that he's ok for West Ham game?

Thedelldays Posted 15 October, 2011 Share Posted 15 October, 2011 Thought our defence was chuffing dreadful against Watford. Just got by on their finishing being pathetic. We can cope with some injuries, but Lallana is different. He's so far above this standard it's not possible to replace him and be as good. No other team in the league has a player like that so can compensate for injuries a bit more. Holmes/De Ridder/Guly can be good but it's a huge blow. I just don't see us creating much without him. Don't go over board or anything

Toadhall Saint Posted 15 October, 2011 Share Posted 15 October, 2011 We'll go behind in the first half and win it in the second - 2-1 Saints (RL & AL). COYRAWM! AL not fit to play today (foot injury)Chaplow to replace him. Well thats my prediction buggered - Looks like Sir Rickie will be getting two! AL is a big loss but we have a squad and I'm sure Holmes (or AN Other) can step up to the mark.

Dalek2003 Posted 15 October, 2011 Share Posted 15 October, 2011 Apparently Holmes is also out with an ankle injury at the moment. Holmes could be one of our best players if he did not spend so much time in the treatment room.

S-Clarke Posted 15 October, 2011 Share Posted 15 October, 2011 Gutted for Holmes to be honest. I can't see him having much of a career anymore in the top leagues anymore, he just cannot stay fit for more than a couple of games. He'll drift to the lower leagues after this year unfortunately, frustrating as he is decent when he's fit - but he just isn't ever fit. Lallana is a blow, losing him will make us so much weaker, there's no other way to dress that up. Teams don't look better because their best player is out...so we'll do well to still be in the top 2 after the next few games. We do have cover...but no ''Lallana'' - he's the guy that dictates how we play, opens teams up, attacks players etc. We do not have anyone else that can do that which is a bit worrying, but there isn't really anyone of that level who'd be happy to be backup if lallana does get injured... If so not a great 2 weeks rest period, went into it with a fully fit squad, no competitve games, half the squad banged up at the end, footballers need competitve matches otherwise they train too hard . S-Clarke Posted 15 October, 2011 Share Posted 15 October, 2011 A starting midfield of 4 central midfielders. We're gonna lose today. I would imagine it's a diamond. Guly at the tip of it, Morgan sitting with Cork left side central, and Chappers right side central. Get the full backs to bomb on, which both are great at doing, and it could work well.
