Liquidshokk Posted 8 October, 2011 Share Posted 8 October, 2011 How much are you prepared to pay? I have a dell inspiron 6400 with upgraded screen, with 2gb Ram, windows 7 and 120gb hard disk. Bought it for 200 a few weeks back off a work colleague but was given a Mac at the weekend by a relative so considering selling the laptop. Only things to consider is that the battery with it doesn't hold charge for longer than say 1/2 hour so ideally needs to be plugged in and I dont have the windows 7 disk (will uninstall everything on it, default it etc though) Happy to sell for say, 140. If you or anyone interested let me know.
Jonnyboy Posted 8 October, 2011 Share Posted 8 October, 2011 Any idea where you can get a new battery and how much they cost?
ecuk268 Posted 8 October, 2011 Share Posted 8 October, 2011 Any idea where you can get a new battery and how much they cost? I've had an Inspiron 6400 for 5 years and it's still fine. New batteries are about £40 for a high capacity one if you shop around. If I'm just browsing on the net I can get nearly 4 hours per charge. I'd ditch Vista if I were you - it's bloated and slow. Go back to XP or forward to Windows 7 or, if you want to get rid of Windows completely, try Ubuntu.
Liquidshokk Posted 8 October, 2011 Share Posted 8 October, 2011 Any idea where you can get a new battery and how much they cost? I looked into it a while back and theyre available online for around 29 quid. Haven't bothered as the laptop stays on a laptop desk the whole time (also available for tenner if anyone wants it - was 20 from ikea few weeks back)

Yep. Although my colleague paid for the screen upgrade too so believe mines a bit more swish. Also has windows 7 professional instead of xp (as I think that one had)
Jonnyboy Posted 8 October, 2011 Share Posted 8 October, 2011 What's the screen upgrade?
Liquidshokk Posted 8 October, 2011 Share Posted 8 October, 2011 What's the screen upgrade? Just a better screen than the 6400 normally comes with. He paid for the better one when building it on the dell website. Not sure of exact spec of screen but can always try and find out if important... Jonnyboy Posted 8 October, 2011 Share Posted 8 October, 2011 So bearing in mind a new battery costs at least £30 - you'd accpet £110?
Liquidshokk Posted 8 October, 2011 Share Posted 8 October, 2011 So, bearing in mind the upgraded screen and the fact I just remembered the graphics were upgraded too to a radeon card I would settle for £130 Not desperate to sell so won't budge lower than that. Jonnyboy Posted 8 October, 2011 Share Posted 8 October, 2011 Playing hard ball eh? I like your style. Here in the Yemen you would be a successful businessman. I give you £115 and the blessings of my camel. I send my brother to collect at 6am no? Also my sister (like camel) she wants to make proposal to you. Im not so "hardball" when I need the cash, believe me. It just dawned on me that I'd happily sell it when I saw this thread...
