However, whether Rooney likes it or not he is a senior player for England now and should've gotten over this childishness. He's meant to be a professional, all this 'mentally not right to play' stuff is a load of ******** and an excuse for acting like a ****

alpine_saint Posted 8 October, 2011 Share Posted 8 October, 2011 Doesn't get off lightly if he misses 3 games though. Could be the whole tournament. Still, if he can't guide the through a group he's not worth much. In a 4-3-3 we can still go with Young/Bent/Walcott which is pretty damn good and allows for a stronger midfield. Downing/Johnson/Milner/Lennon/Chamberlain/Sturridge could play up there too either side of Defoe, Crouch, Carroll, Wellbeck. Not short of options, just decent decision making. I'd suggest Lallana, but he won't get his cap until he moves elsewhere sadly. Chamberlain will get one this season I imagine. Still think Johnson is better than Downing and Milner but overlooked too much. Lallana offers something different to the others, but people just look at the league. Johnson was also in this league when Man City signed him and a cap soon followed. Same with Walcott. But it's all irrelevant. Because come June Cappello will start Gerrard and Lampard together again. Again. Again. He'll probably ask Beckham and scholes back too. Reckon you have it right. Personally, if I were Capello and the English FA, I would get on the blower to FIFA/UEFA and seek confirmation that he has a 3 game ban for violent conduct. If he does, I wouldnt bother including him in the squad. He's f**ked up enough championships for England already, and would be a dead-weight for the group stage, and deny England the chance of including someone else. opthomps Posted 8 October, 2011 Share Posted 8 October, 2011 The team was truly uninspiring tonight. i ended up watching an idiot abroad 2. bringing the mediocre lampard on, and rooney being sent off is typical. we will go to the finals as we had an easy peasy group. we will get knocked out at the second round, and the merry go round will start again. boring boring stuff. I dont know what the solution is, but the players are not up to much. spain in november eh. that will be interesting.
