bender Posted 6 October, 2011 Share Posted 6 October, 2011 Dont know about you lot but I like Ridgewell. Could be a strong partnership with Fonte. http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/transfer-news/Birmingham-face-selling-Ridgewell-Zigic-and-Beausejour-amid-fears-over-their-latest-accounts-article808578.html
The Kraken Posted 6 October, 2011 Share Posted 6 October, 2011 Would take Ridgewell in a heartbeat, he'd be a great signing.
shurlock Posted 6 October, 2011 Share Posted 6 October, 2011 Obviously form is temporary and class is permanent and all that horsesh*t but he played LB against us (a position we're not exactly short) and was dreadful.

Agreed with that, he was diabolical for them and a liability that day.

Isnt left back out of position for him though. according to brum fans it's his best position for them, as he doesn't have the pace or strength to play CB. He doesn't have the pace to play CB so should play LB? That's some backwards thinking right there.
View From The Top Posted 6 October, 2011 Share Posted 6 October, 2011 I'd have him at CB in a heartbeat. I still think we should have bought the lad who ended up at Blackburn.

We'd have never stood a chance to be honest. Wouldn't have been worth wasting time over.
View From The Top Posted 6 October, 2011 Share Posted 6 October, 2011 (edited) We'd have never stood a chance to be honest. Wouldn't have been worth wasting time over. Really? You know that? You know that the player, who really, really didn't want to join BRFC, wouldn't have weighed up the options? Think we missed a trick in at least not having a go at it. Smirking_Saint Posted 6 October, 2011 Share Posted 6 October, 2011 Ridgewell plays best at LB, he has attempted to make CB his home a few times but never really achieved it. He isn't really a player I would want us to break our backs to sign, besides, I though Hoovield looked pretty strong Sat, all be it against a rather lackluster Watford side. Appy Posted 6 October, 2011 Share Posted 6 October, 2011 He and the other defenders, and Kelvin, gifted Watford 4 or 5 very good chances they fcked up. Very, very lucky clean sheet. Kelvin and Fonte did anyway.
Dark Munster Posted 6 October, 2011 Share Posted 6 October, 2011 He is crap. not only that, he's thick as two short ones. In fairness, being thick isn't necessarily a handicap for a talented footballer. For example, Ian Rush was described as being "as daft as a brush" by the late, great Bob Paisley. Of course, being crap and thick is a bit of a problem.
shurlock Posted 6 October, 2011 Share Posted 6 October, 2011 Thankfully for us Adkins isn't stupid enough to judge players on single games. Every player we have has had a woeful game at some stage. Brum fans haven't rated him for a while.
The Cat Posted 6 October, 2011 Share Posted 6 October, 2011 He wouldn't get in our current back 4 and I'd imagine would be on a pretty big wage. Doesn't really seem worth it if Hooiveld signs or has his loan extended in January.

Micky Posted 6 October, 2011 Share Posted 6 October, 2011 Feel for Chris Hughton - did a spectacular job with Newcastle and was uncerimoniously dumped, and then walks unsuspectedly into this mess. He doesn't have a lot of luck does he.
Foxstone Posted 7 October, 2011 Share Posted 7 October, 2011 Hughton is indeed unlucky and does deserve better - Especially as the Carling Cup winning side is being ripped apart and they are living hand to mouth... A Bluenose work colleague of mine says the feeling around St Andrews is that if they can survive the season in The CC, they will have done very, very well... Does'nt it again sharpen your view that there are good owners and bloody bad owners, and how lucky we are to have attracted the former !
scotty Posted 7 October, 2011 Share Posted 7 October, 2011 Kelvin and Fonte did anyway. It wouldnt be a proper saints home game if Kelvin and Jose didnt f*ck up something between them.

Anyone with half a brain knew that Birmingham are a financial basket case. Wade Garrett Posted 7 October, 2011 Share Posted 7 October, 2011 Exactly what I was going to post. He deserves a job with stability and can demonstrate his ability. Yes, he needs a test to prove he's the best. He needs to show he can work with no dough.

Dark Munster Posted 7 October, 2011 Share Posted 7 October, 2011 Wasn't that the late great Bobby Robsons description of Gazza? Could well be, although if so, he probably copied it from Paisley. Gazza and Rush were both as daft as brushes.
