a1ex2001 Posted 6 October, 2011 Share Posted 6 October, 2011 I couldn't support England if he was the coach. I second that much as I love England if Harry becomes boss I will become a supporter of 'Anyone but England' and happily cheer us to defeat until such time as someone removed the saggy faced, tax avoiding, brown bag swapping git from office. once_bitterne Posted 6 October, 2011 Share Posted 6 October, 2011 Not overly bothered about the England national team and not overly bothered about Redknapp. My only point would be that as others have mentioned I think it's the wring kind of job for him, no day to day involvement, no deals to be done, too much aggro from above. Stuart Pearce would be my outside bet. That would be the Stuart Pearce who last week ruled himself out of the running to be next England manager as he didn't believe he had the necessary experience? supersonic Posted 6 October, 2011 Share Posted 6 October, 2011 Ask him how he'd feel if Kelvin MacKenzie became Chief Exec at Anfield. If he's like 90% of the liverpool fans I know, they can hardly name any of the reserve players and have their head so far up their own arse that they won't have the foggiest who MacKenzie is
supersonic Posted 6 October, 2011 Share Posted 6 October, 2011 Redknapp WOULD NOT make a good England manager. Simple reason....he cannot train or work with current players. He only gets success by buying better players than he already has. Everywhere he goes the first thing he does is bring in 5 or 6 new players, instead of focussing on managing the squad he inherited. That is why he would seriously struggle at England...you can just imagine him on the phone saying "I want that Ronaldo!" plus added to that he is a dirty skate ****
Windmill Arm 2 Posted 6 October, 2011 Share Posted 6 October, 2011 The country, and especially the media need to get him out of its system, so I hope they give it to ****flapp, then the entire country can watch him fail, hopefully then he will become a national hate figure, then perhaps he might take his saggy jowelled ***t of a face out of the country. Then they should give the job to Beckham with a reasonable amount of time to restructure the English national game, he would love the challenge and IMO would be the PERFECT man for the job. I agree entirely... with both points. If 'Arry gets the job I'll lose the tiny bit of interest in international football I have left. England need to rebuild from the ground-up, not just the international team but football development in general and that doesn't require a current manager, it requires passion, commitment and a figure head to drive it forward and grow with it. beatlesaint Posted 6 October, 2011 Share Posted 6 October, 2011 Be bloody funny if he took the job, lost a couple of games early on and all his journo mates turned on him at long last :-) Bet a fair few of them have helped keep a few skeletons in the cupboard for the saggy chopped old ****. Crab Lungs Posted 6 October, 2011 Share Posted 6 October, 2011 Stuart Pearce. Oh no. Expect the next generation of midfield nudgers and nurdlers like Henderson and Muamba to clog up our midfield for the next ten years as we fall further behind world football if that happens. His 'passion' will at most, see us to a quarter finals. We're at a fork in the road with our national team... either we plod along the same path, or we take a new route and start to integrate the Wilshere's, McEcherean's and Lallana's of this world. If we do, we'll stand a much better chance of competing.
Legod Third Coming Posted 6 October, 2011 Share Posted 6 October, 2011 It doesn't matter who the England manager is, England will never win a major trophy until the game is completely restructured. When players like Carragher admit that playing for Liverpool matters more than playing for your country, you know the game is up. And frankly, I don't blame them. If it was a choice tomorrow between promotion and England winning the World Cup, for me it would be a total no brainer. Do you care about England, no I mean do you REALLY care?? PaulGilchrist_76 Posted 6 October, 2011 Share Posted 6 October, 2011 Quite amusing how his managerial spell at Saints has been airbrushed from his CV. He is just a 'cheque book charlie'. Badger Posted 6 October, 2011 Share Posted 6 October, 2011 I think he is the clear front runner and is only his court case that could prevent him being given the job. 'Arry will be appointed, he'll play all the 'triffic old boys (Lampard, Gerrard etc) and then when we get knocked out by the first decent side we play against (like we normally do) all of those arguments will fall by the wayside and we can properly look to restructure our national team set-up to make us competitive, much like Germany have done recently and are now reaping the benefits of. Germany...restructure...recently ... They seem to do rather well at this, seeming to restructure really well over most four year periods since 1966. We on the other hand... As for 'arry, he is probably the current frontrunner on merit, but that is a major indictment of our national game, and the English nationals who have played and subsequently managed. Dark Munster Posted 6 October, 2011 Share Posted 6 October, 2011 The FA would have to be clueless, complete morons, and stark raving bonkers to appoint him. Which I guess makes it a real possibility.

Saint Fan CaM Posted 6 October, 2011 Share Posted 6 October, 2011 Couldn't give a stuff about his past - despite his Pimpley connections, he is a good Manager without doubt. I am completely disinterested with the current English team and Managerial set-up. I think Harry would be a perfect England Manager and have as much or more ability as anyone to build a team to be proud of. I'm not so sure he would jump at the chance actually. Bring it on I say. gaz Posted 7 October, 2011 Share Posted 7 October, 2011 He has zero coaching ability. His success at West Ham was down to the coaches. He bought 400 players and his coaches sorted them out. Watch his first coaching session with every single English passport-holding player on the pitch at the same time, then him telling the coaches ''go on lads, find me the 16 best''. Charlie Wayman Posted 7 October, 2011 Share Posted 7 October, 2011 Its been a while since started a new post, but want to throw this one out there, to gauge saints fans opinions. It is well publicised that Capello is out the door by the end of the 2012 Euro's and it seems a distinct possibility that old bagpuss, is one of the, if not the favourite to take over the reigns of the 3 lions. A mate of mine asked me the other day how would I feel if Harry got the job, and I replied, whole heartedly, that I would hate it, I have little interest in the lack of passion shown by the current england team, but if he became manager, I would lose all interest. My mate accused me of being pathetic, but I told him as a Liverpool fan he wouldnt understand, how I feel, and maybe most other saints fans feel. So my question is, how as fellow saints fans, would you feel if he became manager. I cant stand the guy and everytime I see him on TV my blood boils, I'd rather Alan Pardew or big Sam got the job over that bloke. I couldn't give a **** who manages England, the system is crap and no England team will ever win anything unless the FA take agrip on football in this country and there is FA chance of that the way things are structured - the Premier League shysters will see to it that our national team never out-performs their precious PL teams. It suits them to have crap England team and great foreign teams like Spain and Germany then they can say they can attract the best players in the world whereas if we started winning everything, our lads would suddenly become very fashionable but who overseas wants to watch Milner, Walbeck & co when they can tune into a PL of Tevez, Suarez, Torres, van Persie and all those other mercenary money-grabbers taht can't make a living honestly back home.
