Something Cotterill has clearly forgotten to mention to his players! Edited 5 October, 2011 by Liquidshokk
redkeith Posted 5 October, 2011 Share Posted 5 October, 2011 Brighton are almost as dirty as the Skates. We are not only the top team south of the Thames at the moment, but the cleanest too !
Dan Posted 5 October, 2011 Share Posted 5 October, 2011 This is why I think we will loose to them in December, we will get bullied and kicked around by them on the pitch. Hope Im wrong though.
Spudders Posted 5 October, 2011 Share Posted 5 October, 2011 Nah I reckon the skates will end up playing with 9 men by the end of that game after a couple of Reds. I think this will be the feistiest game between the two teams for ages!
Jack Posted 5 October, 2011 Share Posted 5 October, 2011 As long as Lallana keeps taking the **** out of everyone he comes up against, I think we'll see a lot of fouls against us. And with the hype and atmosphere of a derby game, it can be easy for refs to get a bit card happy. I think we'll have the skates comfortably in the end if we keep cool heads
Golden Balls Posted 5 October, 2011 Share Posted 5 October, 2011 Would be brilliant if the actual table ended up like that. Us top Pompey, Brighton and Leicester going don.
Micky Posted 5 October, 2011 Share Posted 5 October, 2011 Discipline is an important part of the game today - picking up stupid yellow cards only puts you under pressure. Hopefully it is driven into the players that losing your cool during a game is only likely to lead to losing the game itself. Mind you, I guess it's easier to keep your cool when you are flying high and results are good - as opposed to staring at the abyss of the relegation zone. Crab Lungs Posted 5 October, 2011 Share Posted 5 October, 2011 This is why I think we will loose to them in December, we will get bullied and kicked around by them on the pitch. Hope Im wrong though. Leeds tried that, it didn't work. We'll be ok... just because we're kicking people doesn't mean we're not a tough side.
RobM Posted 5 October, 2011 Share Posted 5 October, 2011 Nah I reckon the skates will end up playing with 9 men by the end of that game after a couple of Reds. I think this will be the feistiest game between the two teams for ages! The problem will be how many players we lose to the dirty ones in the process. They may lose two of their **** players, but if they take out two of ours in the process nobody wins.
aintforever Posted 5 October, 2011 Share Posted 5 October, 2011 Pompey have had 15 more yellow cards than goals scored.
Saint_lambden Posted 5 October, 2011 Share Posted 5 October, 2011 It's the referee's fault - nothing to do with their discipline!
dronskisaint Posted 6 October, 2011 Share Posted 6 October, 2011 Suspension - It's the only way the 'quality over quantity' squad can get a rest!
SuperMikey Posted 6 October, 2011 Share Posted 6 October, 2011 F*cking hell, 25 yellow cards and 2 reds in 10 games is a lot! 2.5 yellows a game and a red every 5 games...
for_heaven's_Saint Posted 6 October, 2011 Share Posted 6 October, 2011 If we have 7 yellows and one red, shouldn't our total be 9 really. Otherwise it values a red the same as a yellow.

The9 Posted 7 October, 2011 Share Posted 7 October, 2011 It's not entirely surprising, you're a lot less likely to concede fouls for tackling the opposition when you've got the ball most of the time.
