jawillwill Posted 5 October, 2011 Share Posted 5 October, 2011 After the weekends convincing win in unseasonably warm weather conditions, it got me thinking what weather do Saints traditionally play best in. Obviously, being located on the south coast, our players should (in theory) be more used to warm weather than our northern opponents, however we have had many international players who are used to varying climates in their homelands. Does that make any difference? Is our current success largely due to the fact that the majority of our players and British and used to our weather? Off the top of my head, I can think of far more victories for Saints in dry, sunny conditons than in cold wet weather. However, having said that, I'm sure whenever I've been to a game in the rain we tend to draw. Has anyone got any stats to back that gut feeling up for me? Can anyone think of any good wins/bad losses we've had in the snow?

Deano6 Posted 5 October, 2011 Share Posted 5 October, 2011 We had a game called off against Wimbledon years ago due to snow / frozen conditions. We didn't win that one. My photo was in the programme for that game.
ecuk268 Posted 5 October, 2011 Share Posted 5 October, 2011 Saw an MLT hat-trick in absolutely appalling weather (sleet and high winds) against Leicester at The Dell.

Lets B Avenue Posted 5 October, 2011 Share Posted 5 October, 2011 beat liverpool in the snow 4-2 mlt hatrick in maybe 93. first goal after 20odd secs i think. shipperly scored first goal as well Shipperley didnt sign until the next year. Craig Maskell scored the other goal. Also, we were winning 4-0 when the snow started. So not really a good example.
