miserableoldgit Posted 5 October, 2011 Share Posted 5 October, 2011 Having seen the theatrical production in London, and loving it, I do hope that Steve does it justice. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eZpL_cseSmY
Winnersaint Posted 3 November, 2011 Share Posted 3 November, 2011 Wife and daughter went to see it in London last week, as latter is using the themes of War Horse as part of her GCSE Drama course. Both were utterly blown away by the production, so much they want to go again, this time with me in tow. As for the film I just hope the whole matches up to what is a very stirring trailer. Also I've just taken the book out the school library having seen the trailer.
miserableoldgit Posted 3 November, 2011 Author Share Posted 3 November, 2011 Totally agree about the London production. It is stunning in so many ways. The film will, of course, be different, but with Speilberg in charge I have high hopes!
sotonjoe Posted 3 November, 2011 Share Posted 3 November, 2011 The only thing I find disappointing about the trailer is that it seems clear they won't be using any of the original music composed and used in the stage production.

Yes, the music is great. Being a bit of a folky, it particularly appeals to me and sums up the atmosphere of the stage production perfectly. I like John Tams. His work on this and the music for the "Sharpe" series is excellent.
Dangerous Albert Posted 3 November, 2011 Share Posted 3 November, 2011 The stage production was quite simply the best thing I have ever seen at the theatre.
