Foxy Knoxy not guilty

She would never have been found guilty in a British court. That's not because we have a good sytem but that case was a shambles from day one, almost as inept as the Portugese cops with Madeleine McCann.

I feel sorry for her and the Kerchers. How she was ever convicted with no real evidence is beyond me.

I don't get why the family of the murdered girl are angry. Upset understandably, but wanting a continued jail sentence for an innocent girl doesn't help anyone. Acquitting them surely means a new investigation to find the proper killer. So fine, be upset the case is unsolved, but not that she's been released.

Was a mess of a case anyway, all the talk about her character from one extreme to the other, as if it even matters. The nice innocent girl next door or the fiesty slut could both be guilty of innocent or the crime.

I guess they could have had the right person but completely bodged up the whole case. In that scenario they'd be well within their rights to be p!ssed.

Someone is serving 16 years for the murder.

What's worse: an incorrect guilty verdict or an incorrect not-guilty verdict?

Precisely. This isn't America, where the main priority is get someone, anyone, behind bars and hopefully executed. Look at the furore over that recent case, piles of evidence shown to be unsafe and the guy still got put down. Maybe he did it, I dont know, but enough evidence was subsequently shown to be manifestly false/unsafe that if it had been an English court it would never have stood.

Not really as she is still guilty of slander... for which she served 3 years, so wrongly jailed for a year really. But for sure, her life is changed forever now, probably for the worse. Feel really sorry for her.

You have got to be joking, she will appear on lots of chat shows, write a book and someone will make a film

about this, she will end up loaded :(

Radio 5 said last night she is already writing a book and has a deal with a publisher. She may also get compensation for wrongful imprisonment, I know some have over here. No doubt there will be plenty of documentaries and a film. Financially she'll do well out of it.

There's one fella still in prison for her murder....

I thought her and Sollecito had their convictions quashed and were released because of unreliable collection of DNA evidence, not because it had been demonstrated that they didnt do it...

You would have thought that but the judge said that they did not commit the crime. Either way, if there is insufficient evidence then they must be found not guilty.

Half a million euros compensation at least, perhaps more if she pursues the Italian Justice Ministry.Depends on how a civil court sees offsetting the time already served with the 3 year sentence that was confirmed for slandering the bloke she's always said was

involved.

So she has been released because of incompetence police processes. She shared the flat with Meridith . whoise body was found the following day in the flat. I have not seen a reason as to who found the body. Knox has lied repeatedly and implicated an innocent man. If she was that innocent why all the lies ????

Something does not stack up in this case. but due to shoddy police work she has been released

She remains convicted for slander and spent time in jail for it. I expect Italy will be pleased to be rid if her. My deepest sympathy to the Kercher family.

And finally was it not the case that this trial was organised to suit the american TV stations. It was 10 pm in Perugia when the announcement was made. I thought lawyers in europe only work to 5pm . I believe the broadcasting of the trial was to suit american media

something is definately fishy about that woman...

I tend to agree. She may not have been to one to push the knife - but I believe that she know's an awful lot more than she is telling.

The real tragedy is that this case totally surrounds this woman who is now set to benefit richly from somebody elses tragic death. But of course we have all forgotten about the victim.

The DNA evidence was rejected , his was on the girls bra strap and hers on the murder weapon. She is a great actress and her speech in court turned the decision in her favour. I believe there is more to her involvement than meets the eye.

She can go on and live a comfortable life and the riches will pour in, the victims family are left with a sense of injustice and sadness at their loss. If the girl is innocent then fine, but I dont believe so.

As for a poster making out how great our justice system is , could not have followed the joke of how the Pompey saga was dealt with.

  • 2 years later...
She is the worlds best actor if she is guilty. Enough said.

Thats because she doesn't feel she carries responsibility, doesn't mean she isnt guilty. Im sure she didnt want Kercher dead - but she invited a drifter she didn't know back to the house whilst stoned. It doesnt take too much of a leap to guess Guede came back expecting sex, and Knox baulked because she was with Sollecito and passed him off on to Kercher. I think she and Sollecito got involved somehow in events which ended up with Kercher dead.

2 things though....

1. If she's told she has to stay in the US to avoid extradition, then that's no biggy, a majority of US citizens have never and will never own a passport (to be fair, I've spent almost a year of my life in most continuous mainland states of the US and it's so beautiful and varied, I can understand why.)

2. I bring your attention to the following link:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aerolinee_Itavia_Flight_870

Italian justice is an odd thing, for example, in the case above, the evidence and chief investigator found conclusive evidence that it was bombed and exactly where the bomb was hidden but the Italian supreme court ignored this and gave the families of the victims millions to appease them blaming the Italian government on the basis of the pilots last words being "look!"(even though the person that did it may still be a free man....although I suspect it was a test run for Lockerbie).
