Bloody hell you wouldnt seriously employ him or Stuart Gray would you ?

Talk about the kiss of death.......your numbers up soon Mr Cotterill :-)

A dream team for Cheats FC after Stevie-boy gets the boot: Wigley the manager, with Gray as his assistant.

Or the other way around. I'm not fussy.

Went to Bristol for a stag weekend a couPle of weeks ago, went to see Bristol city play hull, really not a happy place, reminded me of our championship relegation year, the crowd were all arguing with each other, players were being slated for any minor mistake, they are a very poor side, as for Maynard, so glad we didn't sign him, he is like a lazier version of raziak !! The biggest cheer of the day from the Bristol fans was when maynard 's number was held up for him to be subbed, there fans hate him, it was not hard to see why

NO the man who appointed them out of their depths did that

Can't disagree with that. Common sense tells you that a good coach doesn't necessarily make a good manager, they are very different roles.

You can't blame them for taking the roles - who wouldn't want to better their career? But the idiot who put them in charge should have known better.

Thing was that when Strachan left in the Spring, Wigley was adamant he didn't want the job, it was as if he realised his own limitations. Come August for some reason he was up for the job.

Nightmare start to that fateful relegation season. Oh the memories!!!!!!!

Call my cynical, but I'd imagine some sweet talking and money was behind that. All the more reason to blame those that made the decision - why invest all that time into somebody with no experience who says they don't want the job?

I can remember Wigley taking off Anders Svenson at Craven Cottage when he was playing out of his skin. This gave rise to a chorus of "you don't know what your doing" from our travelling fans and by then, the end was near for him at SMS.

I'm with you on that one, in that I'm sure our sweet talking Chairman of the time somehow convinced Wigley he would be right for the job, despite him not really wanting it.

Watford away was the worst game for me under Wigley. Being stuffed by a team a division below us and we had a pretty decent team out that night (we could afford to have Crouch on the bench). When you see what a decent manager can do with a squad (i.e. Adkins), then that was an example of what a sh11te one can do!!!
