Football League show Highlights

We have been the featured game this season.

Big shame that they didn't show the fantastic passing build-up to Chappers' back-off-the-post rocket shot - it was sublime. Probably have to wait for the All Angles Covered on Saints Player for that.

If you have Firefox installed, use foxyproxy. I have a couple of mates in america that watch online bbc with that, you just pick the UK proxy.

I've watched the first penalty incident four or five times but still can't see the handball?!

Lambert appealed, but I think as he thought he'd been fouled.

It was difficult to see on the highlights, but I think this photo from the OS shows it pretty clearly:

good pic and their mangager talked about it so much as influencing the game. Unless Rickie has a massive twisted forearm of course!

The extended highlights from the BBC & Sky are here

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/15143189.stm

http://www.skysports.com/video/inline/0,,16428_7219285,00.html

The Sky highlights only have the end of the "great team passing chance" (if only chaps had left the ball, why didn't Morgan ? call for him to leave it).

I think there is a great opportunity for Saints Player here, why don't they show the full passing movement in the buildup (20+ passes ??) as a FREE video, missing off the end with something like "what happened next ?".

IMO this would :-

a) Encourage more fans to sign up to Saints player.

b) Send a message to the fans of other teams to say "this is what you can expect when you play Saints", be worried.

c) Encourage more "armchair supporters" to come to games to get Saints gate up from 23-25k to 27-28k etc.

d) Send a message to the media (BBC,Sky) that they are not showing enough highlights of Saints games.

Credit where credit's due to the officials!!

Credit indeed!!! As someone posted above I've watched the incident a few times and couldn't see a handball, it looked a very soft penalty and if it had gone against us I would have been a tad grumpy.

However, that photo appears to show it quite clearly (but if I was a Watford fan I might be changing my complaint to that it looks like Sir Ricky is giving their defender a good elbowing!!!)

Appreciate logistically it's not really possible, but I wish they had more latitude around which matches to show extended highlights of so they could actually choose the more exciting games. Leeds Pompey was quite dull. In fact, even before the match I wouldn't have understood why they felt a mid-table clash justified 10 minutes or so of highlights.

I'm still not convinced about that penalty in all honesty. Watching the highlights i'm still sure Lambert heads the ball, and that picture might just have been taken at exactly the right moment after he headed it.

So the Watford player handles the ball AFTER Ricky heads it - still a penalty.

I was in the Northam with a perfect view and it was definitely a penalty

In fact, it's worth mentioning that a loud shout went up from the Northam for a penalty, certainly all around me in block 42, right behind the incident. To me, it looked as if the referee had some doubts, but that the penalty shout convinced him.

I meant i'm not convinced it touches his hand at all.

Watch the all angles highlights on Saintsplayer, it's definitely not a penalty. Lambert heads it past the bloke, the ref only gave it because the blokes hand was up, it kinda looked like he touched it and the Northam (myself included) went mental about it. Who says fans don't directly influence the game ;)

I said this at the time as well. Who says crowds don't influence results.

First goal was the Northams , not Lamberts.
