Reading Away Tickets

Remember that '96 one played on an ice rink, Souness was bleating about that game going ahead, we could't handle the chilly conditions!

Always got a bit tasty at the end of that side terrace next to the away terrace, always trying to kick off in that corner...

And as i recall all the players were wearing astro-turf boots cos it was too hard for studs!

Yes, it was about the only game played that day after an arctic blast. Right up to 2.30 I was expecting it to be called off. Can't blame the conditions though, we were 1-0 up,and although not in control, looked comfortable until Benali needlessly gave away a penalty by elbowing one of their bastards in the face off the ball for it to come back to 1-1.

This is not true. We were never winning and were never comfortable. We were ****e and they beat us easily.

I remember it well, we were terrible with Ulrich Van Gobble at right back, think Trevor Morley even scored for them! Didn't we lose there in the worthington cup the year before as well?

Here's some match reports:

Quite amusing actually (although that was a ****e game at the time and possibly the coldest I've ever been at a football match). Elm Park was an utter dump - terrible ground.

I'd agree with that. Never ever been so cold at a game in my life. They took us to pieces on a pitch that was frozen solid. I notice the first match report says temperature dipped below freezing hence the pitch passed an inspection. Absolutely no idea how. That pitch would never pass a current inspection. Total ice rink. Yeah, 2-1. Morley scored for them in that game too!

Did Donny sell out their away allocation? Would there be a lot of their fans turning up on the day without a ticket? I think they'll be a little more strict with our game. Best of luck getting a ticket anyway!

Don't expect any sort of atmosphere from the Reading fans....I live not far from Reading and know a few STH who claim that it has a 'good' atmosphere. There are a bunch of chavs who sit in Y26 (in corner next to big screen) who think they are hard and may well give a few w@nker signs but that's it. I got my ticket but I'm right down in the far corner, row B...great!

Just spoke to the ticket office, allocation is now fully sold out!

it sold out yesterday afternoon, wonder how long it will take the club to announce that on the website! Good turnout and hopefully we'll have plenty in the home end as well jumping up when we score live on sky!

Last minute winner, 30 odd well dressed lads mobbing the players on the pitch, a few Saints running on the pitch from the home end, going mad... Dreamland.
