They say It's our final allocation and then further down in the article it says more will be put on sale if required, interesting.

i think they have forgotten to delete that bit from the original story, the whole end holds 4200 so once the remaining 500 are sold that will be the lot, can see this being sold out by the end of the week.

Which means we have allready sold 3700 - let's hope due to the late kick off ( extra lager ) that everyone stands and makes a shed load of noice.

Stadium?!! i meant the train station... cheers

A brisk 15 minute walk i've been told from a Rams fan I know. He told me it's less of a walk than the station in nottingham to the city ground (notts forest).

Edit: Thought you were on about Derby (thread title should have been a clue), but will leave post up as we're playing DCFC soon.

Too far to walk from town/station to the ground. Free shuttle buses are laid on from the station to the ground, but are a pain in my opinion and obviously not the quickest, so I'd recommend a cab. The police try to shove all Saints fans in the Three Guineas at the station. The pub itself is fine, but a) like all pubs its not fun when its packed and you spend ahalf your day trying to get to and from the bar; b) You don't want to spend the whole day stuck in one pub.

My advice would be to try and get to Reading early and have a walk around, plenty of half decent pubs dotted round the place, then jump in a cab down to the ground.

As had been pointed out that bus from station to ground may be ok earlier on in the afternoon, but even if you get in the queue for it over an hour before KO you may be cutting it fine. Especially at c4-4.30 on a Saturday alvo.

Missed the KO a few years back (the Bradley Wright Phillips game) despite having got in the bus queue quite early.

Following earlier advice, head to Madejski a bit early for some beers, or preferaby drink in Reading then late cab!

Bought tickets this morning.Three travelling from Cheltenham - spare seat if Rupert Lowe wants a lift.

Next problem - any sensible parking near the Madcow Stadium, or is it best to abandon the car on the hardshoulder along the M4 ?

Not been to this ground although made a few trips to see Saints play at Elm Park ( 0-0 1978,good atmosphere, plenty of trouble in one corner of the ground *, 1-0 1988 Le Tiss in the FA Cup, and the 3-1 defeat in 96 when two were sent off).

* bloke being led out from the Saints end by Police, and his wooden leg fell off.

Remember that '96 one played on an ice rink, Souness was bleating about that game going ahead, we could't handle the chilly conditions!

Always got a bit tasty at the end of that side terrace next to the away terrace, always trying to kick off in that corner...

Yes, it was about the only game played that day after an arctic blast. Right up to 2.30 I was expecting it to be called off. Can't blame the conditions though, we were 1-0 up,and although not in control, looked comfortable until Benali needlessly gave away a penalty by elbowing one of their bastards in the face off the ball for it to come back to 1-1.

Remember Slater sent off in the last couple of minutes for abusing a linesman.

The terace was the southbank, a gathering place for their adolescent plebs.

There is an official car park at the ground, but that is it for some miles around. It is on a business park-type location, a couple of miles out from the town centre and right next to the motorway. The official car park is a decent size and very handy, just dont count on leaving in a hurry afterwards, it will take some time.

Tickets officially sold out, my mates just bought the last 2. Any chance of any more?

have you got a ticket mate? not sure if Reading are selling them restricted database or general sale, but there will be plenty of space in the home end, no chance of the away end getting any bigger as there are home fans either side of the 4200

Yes mate, tickets are for myself and our friend from Botley. Didn't know we already had the full 4,200 allocation, seems we were lucky with the final 2! Should be a good day out....

Good stuff mate, i remember having a funny day with you lads a couple of years back - if you get there early enough for breakfast maybe give the Varsity a swerve, remember how slow the service was on the way to Swindon last season! think i took a sausage and left the rest!

Why would it be unfortunate? I'd hazard a guess that most will travel by means other than the travel club, including those from Ghana.

It'd be unfortunate because from experience those who travel on the supporters coach are boring people. Arrive 20 minutes before k/o, order a bovril, sit quietly for 90 minutes, and go home. It makes for a rubbish atmosphere.

Perhaps they are happy to do that, considering that some of our most ardent fans travel regularly by the travel club? I think there will be more than enough of us there to sing and carry the cheers of the travel club fans out to the players.

I'm not knocking the loyalty, but I do wish they'd make a bit more noise.
