kwsaint Posted 1 October, 2011 Share Posted 1 October, 2011 What a sensation when he came on the pitch. Really picked up the game and played generally well. Would be tempted, on away games, to start him instead of Guly although saying that Guly had a good game as well.
Joesaint Posted 1 October, 2011 Share Posted 1 October, 2011 Quite like it with Chaplow comming on from the bench against tired players, does give a little edge, NA does have some difficult choices.
toofarnorth Posted 1 October, 2011 Share Posted 1 October, 2011 He seems to make much more of an impression on a game as a sub imo. Great player to have to come on on 60 minutes if you need a bit more bite.

L1Minus10 Posted 1 October, 2011 Share Posted 1 October, 2011 Aside from the game when he got sent off, every time he's come on this season he's been excellent.
Nutwood2 Posted 1 October, 2011 Share Posted 1 October, 2011 He's a quality player. We're blessed with talent at the mo. Long may it continue!

S-Clarke Posted 1 October, 2011 Share Posted 1 October, 2011 Chaplow is a great sub because he's full of energy, against knackered players who have been chasing us for 70 odd mins it's a great tool to have. He's looking like the player from his Burnley days in an attacking sense, gets into great positions and his timing of runs into the box is terrific. I liked him at the tip of the diamond today, thought it worked well.
CHAPEL END CHARLIE Posted 1 October, 2011 Share Posted 1 October, 2011 It's a sign of the strength of our midfield that good players such as Chaplow, Schneiderlin, and Holmes can't even secure a regular starting place. As it happens I'd start Chaplow ahead of Guly, but with results like this it's very difficult to critise any of the managers decisions. All this success can make this place a tad boring - how I yearn for the good old days ................
labibs Posted 1 October, 2011 Share Posted 1 October, 2011 I think back to our relegation season (to L1) and if you had told me then that someone like Chaplow wouldn't have got into our starting XI, I would have laughed you out of town! I think he's one of our few players with a real bit of bite to him, he's a hardworking, tenacious midfielder and sometimes that is exactly what we will need. Delighted he is part of the squad here. Will really stand us in good stead when we pick up knocks in the dark days of Feb etc. Whats also great is that guys like Chappers, Morgan etc arent sulkig when not starting and buying into the team ethos. Again that's huge for a club like ours when they're all pulling together. BTW i thought Guly was excellent up front today. he's asked to play all over and he never lets the team down. He's a real players player IMO. Watch the runs he make off the ball to create space
Dimond Geezer Posted 1 October, 2011 Share Posted 1 October, 2011 I love this guy. I thought he was great first time around, now I know he is great. Fantastic player, a little over enthusiastic some times, but plays with passion, and you can't fault that. Unlucky not to score today. I seem to remember that his Mrs is a bit tasty too! sammysaint Posted 1 October, 2011 Share Posted 1 October, 2011 hes what a impact midfielder is all about energy tackling and having a amazing shot. sorry but guly was poor today for 75 percent of the match he was poor and always is for most of the matches i seen, but he will do bits of play that show what class he is and his dribbling at one point was quality and his finish was amazing, hes some one we need on the pitch incase he does that bit of brilliance. I quite agree. The truth 'that dare not speak its name' is that not only was Guly poor (again) for much of the game today he was almost comicly bad at times. But then he goes and unearths some of that quality, scores a goal and shuts you up just as a fan is about to boo him off - damn his eyes !
View From The Top Posted 1 October, 2011 Share Posted 1 October, 2011 Such a pity that Chaplow couldn't have finished that wonderful move! Guly is truly frustrating but he scores important goals.
supergoose Posted 1 October, 2011 Share Posted 1 October, 2011 Chaplow was really excellent again today. Seems to re-energise the team when he comes on.
paulwantsapint Posted 1 October, 2011 Share Posted 1 October, 2011 Think Chappers sees it as his job to give 90+ mins of action which means if he is on the bench when he comes on he has to work extra hard to squeeze 90 mins into whatever time he gets

Saint_lambden Posted 1 October, 2011 Share Posted 1 October, 2011 Was superb when he came on. Deserved to get a goal and if either of his two chances had gone in, they'd have been early contenders for goals of the season.
