Huntingdon Posted 1 October, 2011 Share Posted 1 October, 2011 I'm not a computer geek, so bear with me I always run a McAfee scan each week, and it sometimes finds 1 or 2 tracking cookies & fixes the issue This week, I had 25, so I ran another scan straight after and it found another 21. I keep running scans and they keep coming back What are tracking cookies exactly? Just how serious are tracking cookies to my security? And how do I get shot of ones that keep coming back? hamster Posted 1 October, 2011 Share Posted 1 October, 2011 It's a bit like a loyalty card, they help site owners analise who's visiting their site, how often and what they look at. Data can be used to improve a site and in the main they are harmless.Iirc, they are mostly dormant and very very very small. Someone on here will help you to tweak your browser settings so you don't get too many but way back when, people would have hundreds if not thousands. What browser.are you using?
