Saint Keith Posted 30 September, 2011 Posted 30 September, 2011 number one daughter now at uni, mum wants to be able to do webchat/skype kind of stuff not something i know much about do i just buy her a webcam, plug it in, and sign her up to skype, or is there more to it than that? or is there a better way to do video calling stuff. i thought she would have been able to do that on her iphone 3g?
Colinjb Posted 30 September, 2011 Posted 30 September, 2011 The iPhone 3 G doesn't have a front facing camera, therefore it cannot do video calls. The latest HTC, Samsung, iPhone 4 etc which do have a front facing camera can support video calls. It should just be a case of creating a Skype account, make sure you have a video call capable device and ensure you are connected as 'contacts.' Then whenever you are both online you can video call each other. - So yes, as far as I am aware it should just be a case for the PC of buy a webcam and microphone and off you go!
