SaintAmongSkates Posted 29 September, 2011 Share Posted 29 September, 2011 Our home form is excellent, Away form patchy at best. Pretty much the exact opposite to 'Boro. We're top of the league which is great but what's going to change first. Home or Away form?
Raging Bull Posted 29 September, 2011 Share Posted 29 September, 2011 Well there's no real reason home form should change at all but going on the law of adverages we will draw or lose a couple by the end of the season. Away however, especially if we cut out those stupid bloody mistakes will improve, as far as I can see it's just concentration.
alpine_saint Posted 29 September, 2011 Share Posted 29 September, 2011 I reckon we can improve our away form a bit.
scott_saints Posted 29 September, 2011 Share Posted 29 September, 2011 I reckon our form is subject to change.
Saint Garrett Posted 29 September, 2011 Share Posted 29 September, 2011 I reckon our form could stay the same, get better or get worse. HTH
skintsaint Posted 30 September, 2011 Share Posted 30 September, 2011 if our form is on average 2 points per game then we get promoted. simple. I cant see no reason for our home form to stay strong so will say our away form will stay about the same too
Thedelldays Posted 30 September, 2011 Share Posted 30 September, 2011 lets be honest..this start is a brilliant start....by anyones standards in the league (seeing as we are top) this is a farking hard league to maintain your best...every week its almost hard to guess who will collect the points when doing an accy... one of the reactions to losing at cardiff were just plain silly and quite embarrassing really we lost to cardiff....wow
70's Mike Posted 30 September, 2011 Share Posted 30 September, 2011 if the results continue in the current vein we are going to be very near the top of the table
sambosa75 Posted 30 September, 2011 Share Posted 30 September, 2011 If we can keep winning 3 out of every 4 home games and get 4 points from every 3 away games, we'll be alright.
Dalek2003 Posted 30 September, 2011 Share Posted 30 September, 2011 We have had a great start but I believe our form will drop off a bit now and then settle down. As I have said before, we did not show any real intent during the summer transfer window and will finish a comfortable lower middle table over the season in line with our ambition to consolidate this season and push for a play off place next season. We have to be patient but we will get there eventually.
Dalek2003 Posted 1 October, 2011 Share Posted 1 October, 2011 No, I cannot explain which teams will finish where in the league. That sort of detail is ridiculous and I doubt id=f anyone could do that if asked. I have said 17th because before the season started people (for fun i presume), were asked to give an actual placing. I chose 17th because i feel saints will finish roughly lower mid table. I suppose if we finish 15th, 16th , 18th 19th people will be pedantic and say i got it wrong. However, I would say that within that bandwith it would have been a good prediction ! Your last paragraph quite frankly is purely your opinion and i could say the same about any persons opinion or prediction. Anyway, we will just have to wait and see. Just a little footnote on the thread 'the next seven games' i seem to be doing pretty well in my predictions....and i have predicted a win today so if i am right enjoy, because i predict a bumpy time ahead after that. Legod Third Coming Posted 1 October, 2011 Share Posted 1 October, 2011 I believe that one of our challenges is the ease with which we are playing around teams at home. There is a big difference between confidence and complacency and our skills levels in terms of passing seems head and shoulders above the opposition in most games. The challenge is that we still have to defend from the front and we must score when we're on top. Sometimes you can be so good you forget you also have to work hard. I agreed with your pre season prediction, not sure I still feel that's where we will end, hope not, but it wouldn't surprise me as this league is bloody tough and wins and losses are produced by very small margins so this wonderful start could quite easily be undone if those margins don't go our way. As I said I hope not. Just because you predict 17th it doesn't mean you don't hope we finish top by the way.
West End Saint Posted 1 October, 2011 Share Posted 1 October, 2011 Lets face our form has been fantastic way better than any of us thought I think the league in general is now getting to where we thought it would be any one on there day can beat anyone this is a tough league. We have a very good team & if our form continues we will be right up there we got beat at the Foxes but bounced straight back if we go a goal down we dont panic keep playing & get back in the game nobody is going to run away with the league there are a lot of very decent sides & we are one of them. I have been to a few away games and we look a very good side I dont think we suffer from travel sickness if can keep it up & strengthen in Jan we will have a say in who gets promoted I am loving the way we are playing fingers crossed we can keep it up. Neil Posted 1 October, 2011 Share Posted 1 October, 2011 If we can get to 22 points today and sit top for at least another two weeks I'll be mighty happy. I'm pretty damn happy anyway, but it would be nice to be top after 10 games, and even longer...
