Viking Warrior Posted 28 September, 2011 Posted 28 September, 2011 Good to see Alpine returning to his normal self !
Saint_clark Posted 28 September, 2011 Author Posted 28 September, 2011 :\ Does it matter if it was still on the pitch? Obviously they weren't going to play on.
ALWAYS_SFC Posted 28 September, 2011 Posted 28 September, 2011 Reality check? Yes. Even remotely the end of any chance of promotion? The moaners need their own reality check. It will be like a feeding frenzy for them....
miserableoldgit Posted 28 September, 2011 Posted 28 September, 2011 5live extra have been fairly complimentary, just saying we lack the final ball or clinical finish. I much prefer the opinions of the people on this forum who are not at the game.
Dr Who? Posted 28 September, 2011 Posted 28 September, 2011 I blame Beattie for unsettling our forward line!!! Tell you what seems like we are having a sticky patch, but should get it right on Sat, well it is not a top 10 side ;-)
Johnny Bognor Posted 28 September, 2011 Posted 28 September, 2011 We are still top as it stands. Boro, derby, west ham and Brighton have played 5 home games and 4 aways, whilst we have played 5 away and only 4 at home. They are all away on saturday so I am happy to wait until saturday when we have all played 5 home and 5 away which gives a more balanced picture.
hypochondriac Posted 28 September, 2011 Posted 28 September, 2011 I see the post nazis are back telling others what to think. My view is that it's one bad performance but also we have seen a drop in our level of performance in the last few games. I really hope we get back to winning ways on Saturday. If we lose or draw that then it's a bit of a slump in form and we will have to look at how that has come about.
alpine_saint Posted 28 September, 2011 Posted 28 September, 2011 Well, if all the moaners are out in force, so are all the spin doctors and excuse makers. I must have got caught up in the euphoria of being top of the NPC for a few weeks and lost myself. Our defence is dodgy.
Legod Third Coming Posted 28 September, 2011 Posted 28 September, 2011 Nigel bringing himself on. Hahahah. What a plonker... Boothroyd 'let the two managers have a go'...
EBS1980 Posted 28 September, 2011 Posted 28 September, 2011 Guly it seems has been pretty poor this evening and it's not the first game recently that he's sub-standard. De Ridder has come on - made an impact immediately - and now deserves a start. I think Adkins unfortunately made a mistake taking off Connolly tonight - should have been Guly. needed a forward on the bench. Need an alternative for when it's not working with Conners and Lambert. Shame Barnard is injured really

Cestrian Saint Posted 28 September, 2011 Posted 28 September, 2011 What's with all the "honey moon over" crap. We could have gone 1-0 up with a penalty but within 15 seconds we were 0-1 down with a hoof and a header. Such is the knife edge of a good division, but "honeymoon over" FFS? Well we shall see. We won't go up automatically and I'm doubtful we'll even make the play offs. You heard it here first!

hamster Posted 28 September, 2011 Posted 28 September, 2011 just bagged a saints win on paddypower @ 500/1 coyr's
anothersaintinsouthsea Posted 28 September, 2011 Posted 28 September, 2011 Sometimes it's just not your day, no need for a knee jerk reaction or inquirey. need a positive response on Saturday.

If we lose or draw that then it's a bit of a slump in form and we will have to look at how that has come about. I don't think we've seen a massive drop in performances, we've just struggled to get the ball in the net for the last 2 games. Not sure why that is because the usually reliable players are missing golden chances. They'll start scoring again, but I reckon we need another pacey forward on loan to give us another option.
positivepete Posted 28 September, 2011 Posted 28 September, 2011 Are you listening to Solent? Because according to the BBC we are all over Cardiff and have simply missed sitters. Indeed, I have been listening to the second half on five live and I cannot remember any sustained Cardiff pressure the whole half
teamsaint Posted 28 September, 2011 Posted 28 September, 2011 even teams that have a promotion season lose around 8 games...usually away, usually against the better teams. disappointing but not the end of the world.
1976_Child Posted 28 September, 2011 Posted 28 September, 2011 Shove off with this top of the table crap. That is just asking for Boro to score.
for_heaven's_Saint Posted 28 September, 2011 Posted 28 September, 2011 just bagged a saints win on paddypower @ 500/1 coyr's Must have money to burn!
S-Clarke Posted 28 September, 2011 Posted 28 September, 2011 corner cardiff, looks like it's all over really. Into stoppage time.
alpine_saint Posted 28 September, 2011 Posted 28 September, 2011 5 mins added time Could be 50mins, we aint gonna score.

If we lose or draw that then it's a bit of a slump in form and we will have to look at how that has come about. Think to be honest that we are due a slump - after the last 12 months, we have to have a wobbly period. Don't get me wrong, I aint happy about it at all but have been expecting a bit of a wobble for some time.
Andy Durman Posted 28 September, 2011 Posted 28 September, 2011 Defeats are part of football. However infrequent they maybe. Accept them. Don't moan, look forward and get behind the Saints.
um pahars Posted 28 September, 2011 Posted 28 September, 2011 needed a forward on the bench. Need an alternative for when it's not working with Conners and Lambert. Shame Barnard is injured really Would agree with that, in that I think we are light up front if DC and RL aren't producing. Jos got done by J-Rod on Saturday and cost us one tonight, so IMHO the two areas identified by NA might be undoing us!!!!!

But even at the Forest game I thought it was a drop from the Ipswich mauling and Leeds too. Maybe teams are figuring out how to play against us?
alpine_saint Posted 28 September, 2011 Posted 28 September, 2011 Maybe teams are figuring out how to play against us? That was always going to happen.
Badger Posted 28 September, 2011 Posted 28 September, 2011 needed a forward on the bench. Need an alternative for when it's not working with Conners and Lambert. Shame Barnard is injured really Unfortunately I don't think we really have another option do we, other than perhaps moving someone ot of position ?
trousers Posted 28 September, 2011 Posted 28 September, 2011 Could be 50mins, we aint gonna score. You were saying....? Alpine in accurate as ever shocker...
Saint_clark Posted 28 September, 2011 Author Posted 28 September, 2011 2-1 de ridder! 3 minutes left!
thefunkygibbons Posted 28 September, 2011 Posted 28 September, 2011 five minutes added cannot see it happening tonight
S-Clarke Posted 28 September, 2011 Posted 28 September, 2011 But even at the Forest game I thought it was a drop from the Ipswich mauling and Leeds too. Maybe teams are figuring out how to play against us? Birmingham didn't know how to play against us...... To be fair, Forest played as well as they have all season against us and I still felt we were the better team.
Viking Warrior Posted 28 September, 2011 Posted 28 September, 2011 come on you saints you can still get a point
