for_heaven's_Saint Posted 28 September, 2011 Posted 28 September, 2011 Lallana is great but I don't think set pieces are his strong point- doesn't get enough pace on them.
dubai_phil Posted 28 September, 2011 Posted 28 September, 2011 Hmm what to do now? Stay on here or go googling to buy shares in Razor Blade manufacturers? You all know they'll be out in the morning
1976_Child Posted 28 September, 2011 Posted 28 September, 2011 Corner ball.. We never score from corners
hypochondriac Posted 28 September, 2011 Posted 28 September, 2011 Dare I say it, I think we miss the pace of someone like AOC in games like this to unlock the defence.
Saint_Jonny Posted 28 September, 2011 Posted 28 September, 2011 Notice how our play has got worse since the Chairman told the world he wanted us to be Champions... coincidence?? Definitely.
S-Clarke Posted 28 September, 2011 Posted 28 September, 2011 Dare I say it, I think we miss the pace of someone like AOC in games like this to unlock the defence. We lack pace in all honesty.
supergoose Posted 28 September, 2011 Posted 28 September, 2011 Come on Saints, we can still get something from this!
dan17 Posted 28 September, 2011 Posted 28 September, 2011 Hmm what to do now? Stay on here or go googling to buy shares in Razor Blade manufacturers? You all know they'll be out in the morning ^^Aint that the truth!!??^^
Colinjb Posted 28 September, 2011 Posted 28 September, 2011 Another good spell of possession for us. It's the final ball not happening for us though, Fonte working as a makeshift forward.
hypochondriac Posted 28 September, 2011 Posted 28 September, 2011 Guly sounds poor tonight Has been for a while. Not sure why Adkins won't play De Ridder on the right.
dello Posted 28 September, 2011 Posted 28 September, 2011 The reality check was on Saturday- we were awful against Burnley and sounds like more of the same tonight... We are over-reliant on Lallana.. 12 goals conceded now- worst of the top 7 teams- says it all..
ALWAYS_SFC Posted 28 September, 2011 Posted 28 September, 2011 Come on Saints... Pressure...pressure... Upped our game... Shame we did not do it sooner... Still we can all have a good witch hunt about someone and a good winge
Saint Fan CaM Posted 28 September, 2011 Posted 28 September, 2011 Why do we NEVER seem to get anything from a corner? We have one of the most prolific scorers from heading the ball - two CB's with good heading abiity, yet the ball never seems to get to them!
1976_Child Posted 28 September, 2011 Posted 28 September, 2011 46 games, 9 down. Where are we in the league?
alpine_saint Posted 28 September, 2011 Posted 28 September, 2011 Rest my case If it makes you feel better about us being handed a footballing lesson with a side order of cold reality, friend....
Saint_clark Posted 28 September, 2011 Author Posted 28 September, 2011 Why do we NEVER seem to get anything from a corner? We have one of the most prolific scorers from heading the ball - two CB's with good heading abiity, yet the ball never seems to get to them! Apart from all last season, you mean?

We have one of the most prolific scorers from heading the ball - two CB's with good heading abiity, yet the ball never seems to get to them! We scored a fair few from corners last season, and I think we have a couple this year too.
Buenos Aires Saint Posted 28 September, 2011 Posted 28 September, 2011 Fonte is playing up front according to my mate who is at the game...
Dr Who? Posted 28 September, 2011 Posted 28 September, 2011 Guly has been part of a winning team, no point jumping up and down on him and crying just because we are losing a game away to Cardiff FFS!!
Under Weststand Posted 28 September, 2011 Posted 28 September, 2011 Nearly caught on the break again. Sounds like we need to get De-Ridder out wide
scott_saints Posted 28 September, 2011 Posted 28 September, 2011 46 games, 9 down. Where are we in the league? Currently top
Saint_clark Posted 28 September, 2011 Author Posted 28 September, 2011 If it makes you feel better about us being handed a footballing lesson with a side order of cold reality, friend.... How was it a footballing lesson? A hoof-header goal and a sloppy pass from a CB?
ALWAYS_SFC Posted 28 September, 2011 Posted 28 September, 2011 Amazing ... All the moaners are out No where to be seen earlier... Soon as things go bad they are out like cockroaches in the dark
Dibden Purlieu Saint Posted 28 September, 2011 Posted 28 September, 2011 If it makes you feel better about us being handed a footballing lesson with a side order of cold reality, friend.... Handed a lesson is a bit extreme!
Thedelldays Posted 28 September, 2011 Posted 28 September, 2011 46 games, 9 down. Where are we in the league? Bottom with crap players
Dr Who? Posted 28 September, 2011 Posted 28 September, 2011 46 games, 9 down. Where are we in the league? We are currently sitting pretty at the top!!
Rory Posted 28 September, 2011 Posted 28 September, 2011 Oh well, it's only our second defeat of the season. I think everyone should tight for the pressures of this league from now on. It sounds as we've been pretty poor, unlike our previous defeat against Leicester, and this when the players need to stand up and put this performance behind them.
ALWAYS_SFC Posted 28 September, 2011 Posted 28 September, 2011 Handed a lesson is a bit extreme! He loves a bit of over reaction
Saint Fan CaM Posted 28 September, 2011 Posted 28 September, 2011 Guly it seems has been pretty poor this evening and it's not the first game recently that he's sub-standard. De Ridder has come on - made an impact immediately - and now deserves a start. I think Adkins unfortunately made a mistake taking off Connolly tonight - should have been Guly.
Cestrian Saint Posted 28 September, 2011 Posted 28 September, 2011 I said we'd lose at Burnley and we got a point which was good. However, I never thought we'd get anything out of a midweek fixture away at Cardiff. The honeymoon period is over and the bubble has burst. It was a cracking start and very enjoyable but I think we'll start to see things in a different light over the next couple of months.
S-Clarke Posted 28 September, 2011 Posted 28 September, 2011 If it makes you feel better about us being handed a footballing lesson with a side order of cold reality, friend.... We haven't been handed a lesson at all, have you listened to it? We were always going to lose games this year, probably more games than last season as the quality has risen dramatically. As well as we started, it wasn't going to stay like that all season unfortunately as this is a tough league.
CanadaSaint Posted 28 September, 2011 Posted 28 September, 2011 What's with all the "honey moon over" crap. We could have gone 1-0 up with a penalty but within 15 seconds we were 0-1 down with a hoof and a header. Such is the knife edge of a good division, but "honeymoon over" FFS?
Legod Third Coming Posted 28 September, 2011 Posted 28 September, 2011 Oh well, it's only our second defeat of the season. I think everyone should tight for the pressures of this league from now on. It sounds as we've been pretty poor, unlike our previous defeat against Leicester, and this when the players need to stand up and put this performance behind them. Are you listening to Solent? Because according to the BBC we are all over Cardiff and have simply missed sitters.
miserableoldgit Posted 28 September, 2011 Posted 28 September, 2011 He loves a bit of over reaction ovary action?
ALWAYS_SFC Posted 28 September, 2011 Posted 28 September, 2011 We are currently sitting pretty at the top!! Bloody terrible... We are bound to sink like a stone now Relegation battle it is then
um pahars Posted 28 September, 2011 Posted 28 September, 2011 5live extra have been fairly complimentary, just saying we lack the final ball or clinical finish.
Cestrian Saint Posted 28 September, 2011 Posted 28 September, 2011 Oh, and even P*mpey got a point against this ****! :-(
Ohio Saint Posted 28 September, 2011 Posted 28 September, 2011 Reality check? Yes. Even remotely the end of any chance of promotion? The moaners need their own reality check.
S-Clarke Posted 28 September, 2011 Posted 28 September, 2011 Oh, and even P*mpey got a point against this ****! :-( That was at Notarf Krap tbf, and Cardiff are a good team.
