1976_Child Posted 28 September, 2011 Posted 28 September, 2011 I don't think we ever stood a chance once teams like Arsenal showed an interest. Playing mid-week at Cardiff or in the Champions league with Arsenal is a bit of a no-brainer. I don't think we'll be able to keep players of this level until we're competing top end of the premiership. look, let's put this to bed eh? ML buys club for roughly 20 Million (inc debt). 17 year old nipper gets offer of £15,000,000. Never going to be rocker science really, is it. Especially as the squad is peferfectly strong without him.. We can cry but that is life. And we are stronger than it. As NA says, it is a team game etc..
Saint_clark Posted 28 September, 2011 Author Posted 28 September, 2011 I'm struggling to remember when that last happened. What I do know is that it is the fourth game on the bounce that he has played that type of ball out of the box that has led to the opposition placing unecessary pressure on us. Don't get me wrong, he is a great keeper, just sometimes there is nothing wrong with a good old fashioned hoof towards Lambert. You're talking like this is him doing it all of his own accord - your real beef is with Adkins and Crosby, they're the ones who really decide how we play.

We will not start hoofing it to Rickie, that's totally against what Adkins is trying to do.
Saint Fan CaM Posted 28 September, 2011 Posted 28 September, 2011 I suppose it's the fact that for once (financially) we could of actually held onto one of our wonderkids. The other component needs to be in place as well as the finances - exposure in the Prem league and even Champions league. Not too long to wait hopefully.
for_heaven's_Saint Posted 28 September, 2011 Posted 28 September, 2011 Come on Saints don't let them get on top of us.
Saint_clark Posted 28 September, 2011 Author Posted 28 September, 2011 Desperate defending from Saints there, but held fast.
ALWAYS_SFC Posted 28 September, 2011 Posted 28 September, 2011 Giving us a bit of trouble on set pieces it seems
S-Clarke Posted 28 September, 2011 Posted 28 September, 2011 Cardiff starting to get going. Bit of pressure to see out We need to cut out giving away any sloppy free-kicks tonight, as Whittingham can deliver as good as anyone with his left foot.
Thorpe-le-Saint Posted 28 September, 2011 Posted 28 September, 2011 You're talking like this is him doing it all of his own accord - your real beef is with Adkins and Crosby, they're the ones who really decide how we play. This may be the case, but as a professional he should have the awareness as to when the situation warrants a 'clearance' and when it warrants a short pass to midfield.
dubai_phil Posted 28 September, 2011 Posted 28 September, 2011 OK sorry a bit late that Terra Nova looks really useful. Now can anyone tell me where the match thread is, can't seem to find it. Just seems to be yet another AOC thread

The only times i've seen one of these short passes go tits up is when the defender or midfield has dawdled after receiving the ball, or even gone back to the keeper. Not Kelvins fault at all.
Chin Strain Posted 28 September, 2011 Posted 28 September, 2011 (edited) This may be the case, but as a professional he should have the awareness as to when the situation warrants a 'clearance' and when it warrants a short pass to midfield. My issue is that it's fine but there's a time and a place for it. 4-0 up and 2 mins to go. Play it out to the full backs, but the real problem comes when he rolls it to a central midfielder Edited 28 September, 2011 by Chin Strain

Plumstead_Saint Posted 28 September, 2011 Posted 28 September, 2011 ONCE AGAIN, Davis plays a stupid short ball out of the box. ****ing hoof it Kelv! No. Passing it out from the back keeps possession. A hoof is 50/50. Hoofing it is for the desperate. Come on Saints!
for_heaven's_Saint Posted 28 September, 2011 Posted 28 September, 2011 That's better, get the ball and keep it until we find a chance.
Ohio Saint Posted 28 September, 2011 Posted 28 September, 2011 Enough of the pressure, we need another 3-1 to get in our stride again please!
SO16_Saint Posted 28 September, 2011 Posted 28 September, 2011 is there anyone actually listening to the game able to provide updates, or is this just another ****ing contest?
Saint_clark Posted 28 September, 2011 Author Posted 28 September, 2011 But there is such a thing as playing someone into trouble. You can't always rely on a NPC player having a brilliant first touch. It doesn't take a brilliant first touch to control a pass coming straight at you along the ground.
ericofarabia Posted 28 September, 2011 Posted 28 September, 2011 Just had a listen to The Cardiff taters .... god they are awlful. One sounds like he is commentating on a horse race but in slow motion, the other just talks over him when anything exciting happens!! Back to Merry Dave I guess but the Solent signal is so weak compared to BAAAAAAdiffs.
ALWAYS_SFC Posted 28 September, 2011 Posted 28 September, 2011 is there anyone actually listening to the game able to provide updates, or is this just another ****ing contest? Not a lot going on mate... Few corners each No real chances..
SNSUN Posted 28 September, 2011 Posted 28 September, 2011 Just had an Ice Lolly. This would have been more useful this afternoon when the sun was baking me into a crisp. Is it a lucky ice lolly? I could do with eating some more...
dubai_phil Posted 28 September, 2011 Posted 28 September, 2011 is there anyone actually listening to the game able to provide updates, or is this just another ****ing contest? Wot you not got Radio 5 Live extra? NA should be happy with what he's seen so far say Solent. Sounds like we are passing it about, crowd very quiet but our lot in good voice
Saint_clark Posted 28 September, 2011 Author Posted 28 September, 2011 20 minutes gone, time to go one up.
Chin Strain Posted 28 September, 2011 Posted 28 September, 2011 It doesn't take a brilliant first touch to control a pass coming straight at you along the ground. No, but they're human, and can make the odd mistake. I would also imagine that sometimes there may be a bobble. Not everyones pitch will be as good as ours.
S-Clarke Posted 28 September, 2011 Posted 28 September, 2011 is there anyone actually listening to the game able to provide updates, or is this just another ****ing contest? Evenly matched at the moment, we're keeping the ball well but Cardiff are causing us issues with Corners. We just need to be patient tonight I think, because we sound much better on the ball.
scotty Posted 28 September, 2011 Posted 28 September, 2011 Im stuck in the hospital visiting. Somebody please stfu and tell me the score
Saint_clark Posted 28 September, 2011 Author Posted 28 September, 2011 No, but they're human, and can make the odd mistake. I would also imagine that sometimes there may be a bobble. Not everyones pitch will be as good as ours. So you agree it's not Kelvins fault then? I'm confused.
Thorpe-le-Saint Posted 28 September, 2011 Posted 28 September, 2011 I think it shows how relativly sedate the game is if my comment on Kelvin's passing is the main talking point!
Toadhall Saint Posted 28 September, 2011 Posted 28 September, 2011 20 minutes gone, time to go one up. Yep thats what I'm thinking.
dubai_phil Posted 28 September, 2011 Posted 28 September, 2011 Big decision coming up. Do we go for weather reports or just get Ohio to go and have a smoke?
for_heaven's_Saint Posted 28 September, 2011 Posted 28 September, 2011 We really need to avoid giving away too many corners.
CanadaSaint Posted 28 September, 2011 Posted 28 September, 2011 Just had a listen to The Cardiff taters .... god they are awlful. ALWAYS_SFC Posted 28 September, 2011 Posted 28 September, 2011 Big decision coming up. Do we go for weather reports or just get Ohio to go and have a smoke? NUN of them
1976_Child Posted 28 September, 2011 Posted 28 September, 2011 SOUTH-HAMP-TON. ffs. Not feking sssthhhamton.
1976_Child Posted 28 September, 2011 Posted 28 September, 2011 Come on Kel, this is what he did at the Brum game. Feking get it out properly
Ohio Saint Posted 28 September, 2011 Posted 28 September, 2011 Just started raining here. Warmish with a chance of sun later.
S-Clarke Posted 28 September, 2011 Posted 28 September, 2011 Sounds like we are playing a little too much at the back, maybe.
Thorpe-le-Saint Posted 28 September, 2011 Posted 28 September, 2011 Come on Kel, this is what he did at the Brum game. Feking get it out properly This is what I said, but we're wrong.
1976_Child Posted 28 September, 2011 Posted 28 September, 2011 Just started raining here. Warmish with a chance of sun later. good for all that corn then, eh?
ericofarabia Posted 28 September, 2011 Posted 28 September, 2011 Big decision coming up. Do we go for weather reports or just get Ohio to go and have a smoke? Shock horror probe, glorious sunny day in Leigh Lancs. Temps up to 27c very nice indeed. Nice cold 5am SAINT beer to cool me down. COYS
Under Weststand Posted 28 September, 2011 Posted 28 September, 2011 free kick Cardiff 30yds out keep them out Saints
S-Clarke Posted 28 September, 2011 Posted 28 September, 2011 balls, we've given away a free kick 30 yards out..
Saint_clark Posted 28 September, 2011 Author Posted 28 September, 2011 Is Cork playing? Could make the same comment about any of our players apart from Davis and Fonte in all honesty. Very flat. Free-kick to Cardiff, dangerous position.
Saint Fan CaM Posted 28 September, 2011 Posted 28 September, 2011 Cardiff have sussed our game and our defence is getting flustered trying to deliver the tactical plan. Oh poop - set piece - not good.
ALWAYS_SFC Posted 28 September, 2011 Posted 28 September, 2011 Set piece to defend.. On ya toes Kelv.. High over the bar...
scotty Posted 28 September, 2011 Posted 28 September, 2011 ffs whats the f*cking score?? Its bad enough being stuck here.
Ohio Saint Posted 28 September, 2011 Posted 28 September, 2011 good for all that corn then, eh? Bloody corn! I love to eat it, but I don't care if I never watch it grow again!
