CFSFC Posted 27 September, 2011 Share Posted 27 September, 2011 We sit a staggering 9 Points above 7th and the last non playoff position. Who'd have thought that possible after 9 games in.

S-Clarke Posted 27 September, 2011 Share Posted 27 September, 2011 Let's just wait and see what we manage tomorrow, will be a very tricky game even with their injuries. The start has been amazing though, I never envisaged I'd be sat here in September hoping results go our way so we can stay top.....beyond anything I expected. SO16_Saint Posted 27 September, 2011 Share Posted 27 September, 2011 4 points from the next 2 games will be good IMO. But knowing saints we will win tomorrow and only get a point on sat at home!
SO16_Saint Posted 27 September, 2011 Share Posted 27 September, 2011 Wonder how many teams in the top 2 going into October (which we will be) have failed to go up.
Legod Third Coming Posted 27 September, 2011 Share Posted 27 September, 2011 Maybe I'm weird but I expected us to be top. We have money, we have a great manager, we have a Premiership infrastructure, we signed Jack Cork, we have the best player in the league (Adam) and we are riding the wave of confidence that comes from promotion. This could all backfire of course, but we are where we deserve to be. Long may it continue. (Especially as I'm clutching my 14/1 each way)

S-Clarke Posted 27 September, 2011 Share Posted 27 September, 2011 Yeah, but November and December are wall in the park... Relativity speaking, there are a huge amount of winnable fixtures after we get out of October...which is why I think this month could go a long way to shaping our season. Legod Third Coming Posted 27 September, 2011 Share Posted 27 September, 2011 Anyway, whatever happens in October we'll have a huge number of games left and every chance of catching up, holding teams off, or indeed messing it up. Indeed, but we can make a HUGE statement of intent over the next couple of weeks. If we come through it on top, some will raise their game before they face us. Others will have lost before they exit the tunnel.

(Especially as I'm clutching my 14/1 each way) That'll be you and the Chairman then - he expects us to be Champions this season. At least two of you aren't surprised.....! Point at Cardiff would be fine, and twenty points from nine games would be phenomenal (and well within the 2 points per game typical requirement for top two). What a team! I've had my "visit" and am now fully supportive of everything this current regime does.... You never know, after tonights shenanigans in Munich, you could be closer to realising your ultimate dream - Carlos Tevez in the red and white. Get him in on loan. Finally the megastar to deliver untold success, as you always said........
farawaysaint Posted 27 September, 2011 Share Posted 27 September, 2011 Wonder what'd be best signing-wise. If we were top, would NA/NC think we don't need people in January, or use the position to attract better players? Are we more likely to sign people if we're 2nd-8th? I think you only have to look at Forest's phenomenal implosion from top of the log or think back to Sunderland under Roy Keane to realise that spending in the January window if you're looking good for an auto spot is a very sensible idea, injuries and form eventually can take their toll.
