Pilchards Posted 27 September, 2011 Posted 27 September, 2011 Charlie Austin for starters & Snowcroft. Some players you always know they will get a goal against us, can we name a team of 11 with a keeper you know always gets lucky as the ball bounces off his head etc.
Badger Posted 27 September, 2011 Posted 27 September, 2011 Frank Worthington used to make a habit of it. Ian Wright, and John Barnes probably prolonged their career because of us. And Dion Dublin.
Gemmel Posted 27 September, 2011 Posted 27 September, 2011 Badgers won it Ian Wright and Dion Dublin. There was also a player from the 70's that I ended up hating as he always scored against us.... Ian Wallace Just googled it to make sure I had his name right and this came up :) With our very own Barry Venison as well http://www.midfielddynamo.com/players/players_barnets.htm
SNSUN Posted 27 September, 2011 Posted 27 September, 2011 Mark Crossley in goal for saving Matt's penalty.Although I think Pressman scored against us for Wednesday, am I right folks?
West End Saint Posted 27 September, 2011 Posted 27 September, 2011 Henderson used to play for Watford not sure where he is now but always scored against the Saints
Colinjb Posted 27 September, 2011 Posted 27 September, 2011 (edited) Mark Crossley in goal for saving Matt's penalty.Although I think Pressman scored against us for Wednesday, am I right folks? No, it was in fact Crossley who scored that goal. The memories of seeing that go in from the away end at Hillsborough will stay with me forever. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9dut-uGCO-8 Edited 27 September, 2011 by Colinjb
SNSUN Posted 27 September, 2011 Posted 27 September, 2011 You're quite right, it was Crossley! Defo the keeper to have in that team!
scott_saints Posted 27 September, 2011 Posted 27 September, 2011 I seem to recall Pires used to do quite well against us?
Give it to Ron Posted 27 September, 2011 Posted 27 September, 2011 (edited) Chopra....the little snidey git oh and Earnshaw as well Edited 27 September, 2011 by Give it to Ron forgot the dwarf
jjsaint Posted 27 September, 2011 Posted 27 September, 2011 I seem to recall Pires used to do quite well against us? This. Little goateed piece of **** scrote.
SO5 4BW Posted 27 September, 2011 Posted 27 September, 2011 Adrian b*stard shortar*e Heath always seemed to well against us - and scored the most important goal we've ever conceded
um pahars Posted 27 September, 2011 Posted 27 September, 2011 (edited) Ian Wright and Ian Rush spring to mind to me, but then again they were so prolific in their days they were probably scoring against every team!!! Andy Ritchie pops up, but that might just be the importance of his goal(s), as does Eric gates (in his Ipswich days), but could have been any of that good Ipswich side. Whatmore of Bolton (along with Franky Worthington) got a few goals against us when we were promotion rivals. Nigel Callaghan (Watford) and Graham Roberts (Spurs) also ring bells. Is there a website or a definitive list out there anywhere???? Edited 27 September, 2011 by um pahars
SamKimish Posted 27 September, 2011 Posted 27 September, 2011 Half of Phil Neville's goals came against us I swear?
keithd Posted 27 September, 2011 Posted 27 September, 2011 Anybody who has had a run of X amount of games without a goal, desperately low on luck and form. S'ok Saints are coming up soon, you'll be alright
Pilchards Posted 27 September, 2011 Author Posted 27 September, 2011 Anybody who has had a run of X amount of games without a goal, desperately low on luck and form. S'ok Saints are coming up soon, you'll be alright Very true that. I remember Dennis Bergkamp who went something like 11 games without a goal and the papers really went on about it. Anyway he scores a 25 yarder vs us as it bounces off both posts.
Gemmel Posted 27 September, 2011 Posted 27 September, 2011 Anybody who has had a run of X amount of games without a goal, desperately low on luck and form. S'ok Saints are coming up soon, you'll be alright Diego Forlan.... I dont think he had scored at all for Utd and was having an awful time. .... Up steps Saints and of course he scored.
Seany S Posted 27 September, 2011 Posted 27 September, 2011 I have seen Jermaine Pennant score against us six times - two hat tricks in fact. Once for Arsenal reserves at St Marys and then for their first team when they put us to the sword at Highbury, I believe that was the Cup Final year? In that same game, Robert Pires, another perennial scorer against Saints also scored three times. Worst thing about it was, I was watching the game in the pub down the road from the Wedgewood Rooms in Pompey, as i was there prior to going to a Mark Lanegan gig. So I had a load of Skates guffawing as we got raped by the Arsenal. Bad times.
Paul75 Posted 27 September, 2011 Posted 27 September, 2011 Marcus Stewart (i think) ex ipswich player alway scored against us
Raging Bull Posted 27 September, 2011 Posted 27 September, 2011 Henderson used to play for Watford not sure where he is now but always scored against the Saints Millwall I think
Colinjb Posted 27 September, 2011 Posted 27 September, 2011 I don't recall Kevin Phillips scoring against us. Definitely not regularly. He did in appearances for West Brom and Birmingham since he played for us. No doubt he did for Sunderland too.
um pahars Posted 27 September, 2011 Posted 27 September, 2011 Adrian Heath With some goals more weighted than others (of course I'm not bitter 27 years on!!!!!!!!!)
SparkySaint Posted 27 September, 2011 Posted 27 September, 2011 Millwall I think He played for them when we beat them this season but he usually scores when he plays against us. Clearly he is losing that killer instinct
Ruffo Posted 27 September, 2011 Posted 27 September, 2011 Kevin Phillips I was thinking the same when I read the tread title
Miffy Posted 27 September, 2011 Posted 27 September, 2011 I have it in my head that Rosenthal used to score against us regularly, or am I just scarred forever by that 6-2 defeat.
krissyboy31 Posted 27 September, 2011 Posted 27 September, 2011 Ian Wright didn't just score against us he got 2, 3 or 4 against us.
CFSFC Posted 27 September, 2011 Posted 27 September, 2011 Patrick Agyemang That was going to be my shout.. add in any player that hasnt scored for there new club etc Bergkamp and Henry spring to mind.
Pilsmer Posted 27 September, 2011 Posted 27 September, 2011 No, it was in fact Crossley who scored that goal. The memories of seeing that go in from the away end at Hillsborough will stay with me forever. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9dut-uGCO-8 Me too. Wasn't it 2 days before Christmas? What a way to start the festive period.
VectisSaint Posted 27 September, 2011 Posted 27 September, 2011 You're quite right, it was Crossley! Defo the keeper to have in that team! Shilts would be a better bet, not many keepers score against us from their own penalty area.
Kenilworthy Posted 27 September, 2011 Posted 27 September, 2011 Ian Marshall. Complete and utter rubbish with Oldham and Ipswich, but did well against us.
krissyboy31 Posted 27 September, 2011 Posted 27 September, 2011 Ian Marshall. Complete and utter rubbish with Oldham and Ipswich, but did well against us. Didn't he score something like 7 in one match for Oldham?
beatlesaint Posted 27 September, 2011 Posted 27 September, 2011 Cyril Regis, Bryan Robson, Ian Wallace, Adrian Heath (and unlike Um I am still bloody bitter about 1984), Ian Wright, Dion Dublin...the list is almost bloody endless !!! Oh and Alan Brazil.
um pahars Posted 27 September, 2011 Posted 27 September, 2011 Cyril Regis, Bryan Robson, Ian Wallace, Adrian Heath (and unlike Um I am still bloody bitter about 1984), Ian Wright, Dion Dublin...the list is almost bloody endless !!! Oh and Alan Brazil. There should have been a huge frowny face after my post as Adrian Heath still rankles me to this day!!!!
marc_saint Posted 27 September, 2011 Posted 27 September, 2011 Graham Sharp for Everton. He even got 4 in one game at the Dell once. http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/everton-fc/everton-fc-news/2011/02/10/tony-cottee-and-graeme-sharp-recall-joining-everton-fc-s-four-tops-hall-of-fame-100252-28146169/2/
Pedro Posted 27 September, 2011 Posted 27 September, 2011 Glad Earnshaw injured for tomorrow, am sure he normally gives us a hard time.
Eaststander Posted 27 September, 2011 Posted 27 September, 2011 There should have been a huge frowny face after my post as Adrian Heath still rankles me to this day!!!! This.
rick1976.4.38 Posted 28 September, 2011 Posted 28 September, 2011 There should have been a huge frowny face after my post as Adrian Heath still rankles me to this day!!!! same,if he ever came to saints id stop going till the little c*** left.still hurts all these years on.
doggface Posted 28 September, 2011 Posted 28 September, 2011 Ian wright. The bastard, he's scored loads home and away including at least 2 hatricks. Remember that bloody Nike advert at highbury (can I kick it) where we lost 1-5 in our blue flame kit. Shearer was playing one of his last games for us!
