Cortese out to sink the Ex-Saints Charity?

Copied and pasted form a thread on the UI site. Yet another example, if any where needed, of just what sort of sad individual is running our club.

Personally I think its ********.

Meh.

All I will say is a company can't be seen to donate, endorse and go in for every charity that comes sniffing along asking for help and/or endorsement.

I am extremely, EXTREMELY doubtful of the fact that the club would tell JD he could not par-take in said charity match, as what he does in his spare time is up to him.

And its not as if the Saints are charity shy, is it. --> http://saintsfoundation.co.uk/

Don't belive everything you read, docker-p, especially from an internet forum, and ESPECIALLY from the UI!

It's all hearsay, my friend told me this, I heard this from so and so. I read this in a paper etc.

Basically, it's all a load of unsubstantiated ****.

Should not only be locked but deleted

Why do we have fans determine to hound out the man at the top who is very much part of us being top of the league

Can anyone justify this stance by the club

Yes, this "charity" is living off the back of the club, which could potentially harm the club if the charity messes up in some way and is using the clubs name/image. Plus those connected to Ex-Saints continue to it slag Cortese off in public. I don't see why he or the club should aid them. The club has its own foundation and interests in charity work.

I think saints have their name to their own charities

This is an horrific thread by an agenda driven poster

Absolutely.

As a club we support lots of charities and we put alot into it, with the Saints Foundation which has been a great success.

But let's not mention any good Cortese has done, because he's an evil dictator who eats cats and children.

Not saying whether right or wrong, but the justification will be:

1. Saints already have charities which they officially support.

2. Saints have no control over the administration of this Charity. If it transpires that most of the income gets taken up with "costs", they won't want the fall out.

I guess there could be no objection to a "Francis Benali" Eleven v Eastleigh or such like.

If this infromation is such bull**** then why did Southampton Football Club not get involved with any form or promotion for this event? Sorry but it stinks.

Thanks for posting Docker!

Because they have obligations to their own charities

Even at work we turn down charities... Harsh but that is the way it is

I have recent experience of this area with Saints, and they were absolutely fantastic when it came to supporting a recent Ovarian Cancer event we had after losing a member of the family. They were the only local big business who even bothered replying.

- The club has little control over its image if this charity messes up.

- Those connected to the charity publicly continue to slag Cortese off in public.

- The club has its own foundation for charitable work, along with numerous other charities (all of which don't slag Cortese off in public and then expect Cortese to be nice back to them).

docker-p is on an agenda filled hate campaign against the man that has orchestrated Saints rising from 68th in England to 21st in England in a little over two years.

Can we at least make sure that this thread doesn't descend in to the disgraceful knocking of the Ex Saints Charity that happened last time around it was used as a political football by some to score some cheap points.

It's a great little charity, doing great work for many years and is certainly a positive with regards the local community and the Club itself.

As for this current piece of tittle tattle, well for me it's just the next round in this pointless and unnecessary feud.

Personally, having met and dealt with the majority of people in charge of the Ex-Saints and their charity work, I think it is unlikely that they would ask the club anyway.

And might I add that they are a great group who do a lot of good work for charity, it is just unfortunate that they don't always see eye to eye with the club, but I don't think the charity speak out against or criticise the club publicly.

I do not in any way share docker_p's views but he is not the writer of the article and he makes it very clear it is a copy and paste. We might not like what it says but it is written by the leader of that forum. There may be an agenda, who knows, but to say it needs to be deleted is wrong.

If the moderators think it is just another Cortese thread they cam always merge it with the other threads!

I might be seeing one of the exsaints next month. I might chat to him about these allegations.

But he has a record for highlighting anything remotely anti-Cortese and this is just another instance

Yes but it's hardly being presented to us in a neutral manner : "Yet another example, if any where needed, of just what sort of sad individual is running our club."

Copied and pasted form a thread on the UI site. Yet another example, if any where needed, of just what sort of sad individual is running our club.

"Just had a phone call from someone involved with the gmae yesterday, (not from the ex saints side of things I will add) he told me a couple of things that really saddened me

Firstly the ex saints and estleigh both approached Saints to promote the game in the matchday programme etc and were turned down flat, I dont care about personal feuds but for a good cause like this, that is just disgusting.

Secondly the likes of Jason Dodd were told that they were not allowed to play in the game, again to do that for a cause such as this is sad.

Thirdly and im not 100% on this because as i say the person who told me isnt connected with the ex saints, im told they have recieved a letter from the club informing them they are not to use the name "ex Saints" as it may imply that they have a connection with the club.

Im not going to say much here apart from to say that when you have guys who have lost limbs etc and indeed friends been killed at this game and money being raised for their welfare, can anyone justify this stance by the club

This post is not an example of anything.

Bloody ridiculous. I can't believe how bitter some people have become. I'm not sure how asking people to pay their way in life can leave one bloke open to such vitriol. As far as I have seen NC has done nothing but good for this club. I've enjoyed the best 2 years of SFC that I can remember in a very long time. I hope NC doesn't waste his time reading these forums as it would appear their are some very bitter, petty & ungrateful people around. Markus didn't need to throw his millions our way, but the fact he did is down to NC. If it wasn't for NC & ML we'd have some bloke who still lives his mum in-charge & I've no doubt we'd be in League 2, not pushing for promotion to the prem.

Some of the mong supporters this club have are frankly an embarrassment. Go & support Portsmouth, you deserve each other.

Couldn't agree more, also the pinnicale group only had enough money for a couple of Lambert style signings IIRC, not what we've seen in the last 2 years, unless of course they intended to use leverage and we all know where that road can take a club....
