miserableoldgit Posted 26 September, 2011 Share Posted 26 September, 2011 Well, did anyone else on here go? What did you think? I quite enjoyed it and actually laughed quite a lot. It was a liitle bit shambolic at times but still good entertainment. I thought, surprisingly, that Mike Osman was actually pretty funny as were the panalists although Phil Thompson was a bit dry. Agree that Merse came across as a bit of a mess but all in all a good evening IMHO.
los_saint Posted 26 September, 2011 Share Posted 26 September, 2011 Yes, I went. It was very 'unpolished' and I was surprised that Sky would have been happy to put their name against. As for Mike Osman, the bloke is about as unfunny as it gets.

los_saint Posted 26 September, 2011 Share Posted 26 September, 2011 I laughed too. Parts of the show were simply hilarious. However, I would have preferred a bit more actual football chat and a lot less Osman.
ecuk268 Posted 26 September, 2011 Share Posted 26 September, 2011 My lad and I thought it was a good night. Paul Merson could make a living as an after-dinner speaker - he tells a good story.
los_saint Posted 26 September, 2011 Share Posted 26 September, 2011 That I do agree with - Merson was great value.
warsash saint Posted 26 September, 2011 Share Posted 26 September, 2011 That I do agree with - Merson was great value. Was good value in the Help the Heroes game earlier in the day aswell. Was more than happy to sign autographs for the kids - has piled on the pounds, but played well for the whole game.

Golden Balls Posted 26 September, 2011 Share Posted 26 September, 2011 Didn't go unfortunately. I assume MLT was there? He's usually good for a story and laugh? Seems Osman always slpits opinion on here. Don't get me wrong, he's no genius but I always found him funny enough.

scott_saints Posted 26 September, 2011 Share Posted 26 September, 2011 I don't find him the funniest bloke anyway, but I never really understand why alot of people seem to take pride in not laughing at certain comedians. Definitely got more laughs than I thought he would anyway.
1976_Child Posted 27 September, 2011 Share Posted 27 September, 2011 (edited) most 'comedians' are unfunny. The reason people laugh at them at all is because they have already paid up so, subconsciously, they believe they have to enjoy it. Most stand-up is just plain boring. The comedic 'materiel' has been used before, usually previously broadcast on tele, and as such the powder is damp; is yawn yawn yawn. Most 'comedians' are probably the dullest people to actually spend time with. Edited 27 September, 2011 by 1976_Child
