Le Tissier slates Cortese online

What like the extra cash many of us fork out for Sky that helps to fund Jeffs and Matts lifestlyes. Sorry I forgot they have to do a few hours work for it on a Saturday must be so hard.

Errr, i think you (and an awful lot of fans on here) should get your facts right. Can't comment on McMenemy but i know that both Tiss and Frannie have NEVER asked for free tickets. All they've wanted to do was pay normally and go and watch but Cortese even had an issue with them being in the ground. That is childish and pathetic.

Cortese does a LOT of good things, but he seriously needs to get over this little tiff he has with 2 of the clubs great guys of the last 20 years. This interview with the sun was a stupid thing to do. He should pick up the phone and attempt to sit down with all 3 of them and settle their differences. He won't though.

Is Nick Illingsworth still barred from buying a season ticket?

Have the club ever explained why he isn't allowed one?

The freebies comment was in reference to Mcmenemy, not Le Tiss.

Originally Cortese said he had 2 problems - le tiss getting involved with pinnacle and Mcmenemy wanting free tickets.

The newest sun article, he has obviously been asked if he still has a problem with these two, or any club legends. To which he replies that he doesnt have a problem with legends but doesnt want people getting freebies - he does not name names in the freebies part, therefore is not slagging off Le Tiss like EVERYONE is saying he is.

I want free tickets. And I've bought Peugeots for a while so I want a free 207. And I've shopped at Tesco for years so I want free groceries. And lived in England all my life so I want free council tax. Cortese out.

The minute people start using the analogy of shopping at a supermarket and compare it to a football club is ZZZZZZZzzzzzzz time. Football clubs are somewhat different to our shopping habits (can't imagine the Tesco forum is as lively).

I honestly think some of our fans would be delighted to see Cortese walk, the Libeherrs to pull out, MLT/Wilde/Crouch to be on the board and Illingsworth back in the stand with his season ticket. That must be close to perfection.

Alot off them don't seem to understand how a decent club is run, with all the **** we've had to endure over recent years.

Oh come on, some people on here dont want facts to get in the way of an all out assult on NC's character. If you are gonna be sensible and post factual content like that you have no place here sir :-)

So we should all side with Cortese and turn against Matt and LM because Nicola saved us?

What the hell has my comment got to do with asking for free tickets, may be you should read it again

Really, is it that big a deal? Would you want him out and risk the progress of this club, just because of a petty squabble against two of our former players/manager?

Everyone is bad in this, they've all made stupid comments. It's not fair to lay it all onto Cortese and blame him for the entire charade, because they've all played a part.

Don't be so bloody stupid.

As View From The Top posted somehwere on these threads, 99.9% of fans are supportive of Cortese and his attempts to take us forward, but that doesn't mean some aren't happy at the way he is continuing in his *****fest with MLT.

I travel with Eurostar regularly and so far they have sent me three bottles of Veuve Clicquot and a ticket for the weekend to Paris. So loyalty does exist... ;)

I'd prefer Nicola to apologise, but if it came to it i'd rather Cortese and the Lieberrs left than see MLT treated like this.

On this issue. And this issue is massive. MLT is a legend and unlike you I will not waiver from my support of him.

Oh right and also some mentioned you call him clotese!

He should henceforth be called Nasty Nicky.

I'm just bugged by the ignorance to all parties in this. It's not just Cortese that has stirred this.

I think it's all been totally blown out of promotion if I'm honest, I'm just happy to have a successful club and Cortese has played a huge part in that.

TREATED LIKE WHAT?

Do you have a selective reading problem at all?

The Freebies part of the article mentions no names and is in reference to Mcmememy, who even said himself that he wanted free tickets...

I adore MLT but let's not forget he used the saints team as a vehicle to win a spread betting

His first thought on starting the game was to give the ball away in order to win cash

Let's balance it out

For me, I love that man and both should just shut up and get on with their lives

What a first class **** - **** the **** up you ****

He mentioned Tiss's name. That in itself was totally unnecessary and it shows that the issue between the pair of them is more than just about the involvment with Pinnacle. Slagging him off is one thing, but making it hard for Matt to go to games at all?? That is an embarrassing way to treat a man who has shown as much loyalty to this club as Matthew Le Tissier.

You are a great chairman Mr Cortese, stick to that and get off your high horse with regards to a few of the greatest servents this club has ever seen.

I wouldnt expect a former employer to automatically supply me with free lifetime access to their facilities. I do loads of work for the main concert venues around here, the Mayflower, Concorde, Guildhall, Nuffield, etc etc, I would not expect nor would I accept free tickets to their performances. Lawrie Mac did a good job for the club, but thats what it was; a paid job.

so if lallana walks out in january to go to a club paying him more you won't feel aggrieved? He does a job, he's paid to do it so why should he show any loyalty? It's not just a ajob though is it, these people give their lives to something that we love. It's not just a paid job

Hang on, but his original interview in the sun, maybe 18 -24 months ago (at a guess), he criticised Le Tissier (Pinnacle) and Mcmememy (Tickets)

His next interview (Yesterday) they have obviously asked...Do you still have a problem with these two? To which he has answered... no, but I don't want people having freebies (in reference to the Mcmenemy part).

Because they arent printing the whole question AND the answer, they have just dropped their names in.... he obviously didn't just randomly mention their names....

The way I look at it is this, who can help Saints more in the future NC or MLT and LM???

Like him or not at this time NC is more important to Saints than MLT or LM is. I cannot

fully express how much I love what MLT and LM did for Saints but that was in the past.

You cannot live in the past - try living today on wages from 20 years ago.

At the end of the day though I wish that they would get together and sort things out

man to man but in private.

I didn't even bother replying. It's very very sad how any Saints fan can bring themselves to find angles to slag off Matt. I never thought i'd see the day.
how am I doing that. what i said is a hard fact. he even talks about it in his book.?why do people get so worked up when this FACT is brought up....

Matt is not being slagged off, Some can see this issue from his point of view, some can see it from NC's.

Most are tired of the whole bloody thing.

So if you think Cortese should apologise for what he has done so should Stellling and MLT what what they have said its all the same

I think everyone involved in this sorry affair needs to stand up, apologise and agree to try and work together for the greater good of the Club.

My support pal does not waiver from Southampton Football Club. The club is the issue, not former players, managers, chairman, anyone.

MLT is not just a former player, he is the greatest player we've ever had, he's a a decent man, and he was loyal to the core. It's a shame so called fans like you don't get it.

Love MLT for what he did for us back in the day but that wont help us now. The now is NA and his team, backed by NC and the Liebherr trust. The new ways ****ed off many old school because their reputations were treated on a par with every other fan and i for one am glad.
