Travel arrangements for us V skates

if we don't sell out it will be very embarrassing and give the skates a lot of bragging rights when it comes to support, 32k home crowds means nothing if we can't take 10% of that down the road for an away game.

They will fill their end at our place 100%

As a wise man once told me, "you're nothing unless you take it away"

If it's true that we've had 2500 applications already then we'll easily sell out. Still 9 days to get the form in, plus that's only season ticket holder applications. There's loads of people who don't have a season ticket who will want to go.

Where have you got that figure from and is that 2,500 application forms (with numerous people on) or 2,500 people that have applied?

but they haven't even said if tickets will be sold to non-season ticket holders?

It was mentioned on the previous page of this thread. Could be nonsense which is why I prefaced my post with "if it's true"!!

As for selling them to non-season ticket holders well I just presumed we would. Can't see any reason not to put them on sale to people on the database.

Spoke to Girl in charge of the ballot in the ticket office this morning and she said she had no idea of how many apllications they had received so far

I've had an email from the club to say once tickets have been awarded in the ballot they are non-transferable. If you find out you can't make the match your ticket will become VOID and you will get NO refund!! You can't just give it to someone else!

This will also mean you can't use someone else season ticket to apply or gift a ticket to someone!!

I've suggested they may want to let the fans know!!!

A mate of mine has been building up away games on his uncles ST, I was doubting the plan with how strict they are going to be.

there are loads who have ordered on other people's season tickets, and no where does it say you have to take ID with you on the day, therefore turn up with no ID and there's not much they can do, it is an absolute shambles of organisation though.

still no confirmation of whether non-season ticket holders can buy once the ballot is over and it is confirmed that we haven't sold out

My brother in law has been getting away tickets on my step-dads season ticket so he could go to the Pompey game!

I still can't see how they'll police it though, there will be loads of people applying for mates etc

there will be tons mate, plenty of people who don't have season tickets (but go away a fair bit) are mates with people who do have season tickets and don't travel so much, so have done the obvious and applied with their number, partly due to doubt over whether the club will sell to non-season ticket holders anyway,

i'd ignore that rubbish about being non-transferrable as we'll have coach loads full who have done it.

That's what I'm thinking, no-way they'll be checking every single fans I.D. on the morning and no-way they'll turn away hundreds of fans.

Unless they go the whole hog and print names onto coach tickets and match them to ID before giving a match ticket?

Just wait, there will be a letter when we pick up our travel vouchers saying photo ID with proof of address must be shown before you board the bus and given your match ticket, failure to bring ID will result being refused travel and ticket and all money will not be refunded.

the ticket news the club provides is a running joke, but if they were going to implement such a process they should have included that in the ticket details with the rest of the waffle about how great it will be in the bubble having a safe passage to fratton.

it is only though people having contacts that we found out it is double decker buses rather than coaches. the whole thing is a shambles.

By then it will be too late for people who have applied on behalf of someone else! Ticket and travel money lost!

not received that e-mail

I emailed the club asking what would happen if someone was awarded a ticket but then couldn't make the match, could they give it to a friend or family member? They said after the ballot tickets couldn't be transfered to anyone else, if you can't make it the ticket would become void and no refunds would be given.

They didn't make it clear when they first gave out instructions on how to apply for tickets so It will be interesting to see if they have a leg to stand on.

I don't really get why the communication from the club is so poor at present, when everything else seems so slick.

At least one of our party entered the ballot and will have to ask for time off work if successful. Perhaps they shouldn't have assumed but the no refunds could've been made clearer.

The club are also trying it on when you try to get a refund on a normal matchday ticket.

Despite being told by a person at the ticket office that they would definately get their money back, friends of mine received a letter from the club saying a "New policy",had been put in place(nothing on the official site), and no refunds are now given 24hours before a game.

Interesting that the club still want to take your money, eventhough you havent watched a game.

Saints customer service is non existant.

Agreed. For all Lowes faults he ran a very good ticket office.

Why don't the club say whether tickets will go on sale to non st holders if there's any left? What has changed at the TO to make it go downhill so fast aside from a change of owner?

The whole ticketing policy needs a complete overhaul with a loyalty points sytem introduced. I won't hold my breath.

i agree. But these are all issues that the club should be looking for feedback from it's customers on. instead we get cosy dinners with cortese and his select fans deemed worthy or eating in his presence, and nothing ever seems to come of it, you don't even find out what is discussed now.

i would have lots of questions about the way the club is run, the useless ticket office procedures (especially away games) and who lost the key to the store cupboard holding the Liebherr flag that has gone missing.

I haven't ever had a problem with the ticket office, but if they do enforce the non-transferable/no refunds rules there could be a lot of people £42 down with no official warning and that's just wrong!!

I doubt they will, they're probably just saying it to try and put people off from doing it in the first place. I can't see them checking the ID of every single person boarding a coach, it's going to be enough hassle as it is for everyone involved.

I'd be amazed if they check whether you're actually the person on the ticket or not, all the other skate away trips i've done have actually been pretty lax once it starts since the police want to minimize trouble. The last thing they're going to want is a lot of ****ed of people who are already fired up for the day. Much easier for them to get you onto a coach/bus and to the game in my opinion

I actually found my best hope of going being through an application of a friend of a friend which has now been submitted. I guess noone knows what the protocol is for that situation. Tickets will be so scarce it wasn't worth my while applying when someone I knew was applying but not planning on going as they don't have to work every other saturday like myself so have been able to bolster their season ticket with numerous away games. Would seem a shame for there to be any barriers to me managing to go using their ticket through no lack of desire on my part.

Although one could say it would be a shame if somebody who hasn't attended any away games got a ticket ahead of somebody who has, because they are using a friend of a friends season ticket.

What would be a shame is someone who hasn't attended any away games, getting a ticket over people that have.

Though I imagine pretty much anyone who wants a ticket, will get a ticket. Our fans like nice days out like Reading, Leyton Orient and Bournemouth. Not moody ones, where you have to be bused in by the police to prevent trouble.
