Saintandy666 Posted 22 September, 2011 Share Posted 22 September, 2011 http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-15014748 What do you you lot all think of this? I don't think you should be able to trademark a poster like that. And the guy who owns the trademark seems to think he invented it.
skintsaint Posted 22 September, 2011 Share Posted 22 September, 2011 If the guy has trademarked the poster and built the business off it surely he is in the right?..not sure how that woman will win her appeal. Unless I'm missing a big loop hole somewhere. I couldnt start printing I dunno...Ministry of Sound mugs and get away with it without infringing copyright or something. for_heaven's_Saint Posted 22 September, 2011 Share Posted 22 September, 2011 She's a d*ck. As he says at the end- if he hadn't have got it back into circulation she'd probably never have had the idea.

The poster was rediscovered by another group(name escapes me) in 2000.
aintforever Posted 22 September, 2011 Share Posted 22 September, 2011 Surely the person who designed it during the war holds the copyright?
Saintandy666 Posted 22 September, 2011 Author Share Posted 22 September, 2011 Surely the person who designed it during the war holds the copyright? That would be crown copyright... which runs out after 50 years. Hence someone else can now 'own' the rights to the poster and reap the rewards for all of time.
