Minsk Posted 22 September, 2011 Posted 22 September, 2011 in order of their current league position: Man Utd Man Citeh Chelski Newcastle Stoke Everton Liverpool Wolves Blackburn Arsenal Bolton Saints Cardiff C. Palace Burnley Aldershot I know there will be many on here hoping for us to get the Arse away, or either of the Mancs/Scousers at home. However, I always want to see Saints win EVERY match so a home tie against Aldershot would be top of my wish list. Having said that, it would also be quite interesting for Pards to bring Leon Best and the 'toon down here.
doddisalegend Posted 22 September, 2011 Posted 22 September, 2011 Nigel (and I imagine Lambert too) wants Liverpool away.
sambosa75 Posted 22 September, 2011 Posted 22 September, 2011 Newcastle home or away please. We'd beat them but always a good night up there or if the geordies are in town down here.
Fan The Flames Posted 22 September, 2011 Posted 22 September, 2011 Aldershot away please and no switching of grounds.
Saint Fan CaM Posted 22 September, 2011 Posted 22 September, 2011 Would like Newcastle or the Arse at home. The way both those teams are playing right now, we would have a great chance of an upset.
Marsdinho Posted 22 September, 2011 Posted 22 September, 2011 Would like Newcastle or the Arse at home. The way both those teams are playing right now, we would have a great chance of an upset. Newcastle are 4th in the prem.
edprice1984 Posted 22 September, 2011 Posted 22 September, 2011 Newcastle, Everton or Aldershot at home please.... Other than that one of Arsenal, Liverpool, Utd, Citeh, Chelsea away - No lose situation!
for_heaven's_Saint Posted 22 September, 2011 Posted 22 September, 2011 Bet we get one of the Championship teams!
Saint Stimp Posted 22 September, 2011 Posted 22 September, 2011 Personally, I don't really have any bad feelings towards Chamberlain, but it would be pretty funny for us to draw Arsenal, him to play and us to win. Which I wouldn't consider an impossible task given some of their recent problems.
Jones91 Posted 22 September, 2011 Posted 22 September, 2011 I think Bolton normally knock us out of the league cup
trousers Posted 22 September, 2011 Posted 22 September, 2011 Bet we get one of the Championship teams! ^ This

Having said that, it would also be quite interesting for Pards to bring Leon Best and the 'toon down here. I'd like anyone at home, but preferrably the lower placed team the better to give us a decent chance. If away Aldershot, if not then a London club so i can get to it after work. Definitely not Bolton as we always lose to them in the league cup. If premier team at home Newcastle would be decent as could bring 3k fans boost the atmosphere and with Pardew coming back would make it interesting.
stevegrant Posted 22 September, 2011 Posted 22 September, 2011 Aldershot or Arsenal away, or if I'm being uber-selfish/lazy, Palace away.
JRM Posted 22 September, 2011 Posted 22 September, 2011 Aldershot or Arsenal away, or if I'm being uber-selfish/lazy, Palace away. Palace away with £5 tickets please!! haha night out for a tenner! for those who want Aldershot i'm not sure if they realise what a moody away day that could be.
stevegrant Posted 22 September, 2011 Posted 22 September, 2011 Palace away with £5 tickets please!! haha night out for a tenner! for those who want Aldershot i'm not sure if they realise what a moody away day that could be. Completely unbothered by the moodiness, it's another ground to tick off
Golden Balls Posted 22 September, 2011 Posted 22 September, 2011 I would put money on us getting Burnley or Bolton at home. Completely boring tie
once_bitterne Posted 22 September, 2011 Posted 22 September, 2011 Nigel (and I imagine Lambert too) wants Liverpool away. Confirmed by Adkins in his post match interview on Sky.
jjsaint Posted 22 September, 2011 Posted 22 September, 2011 Any Merseyside teams away would be good - never been up there myself.
pedg Posted 22 September, 2011 Posted 22 September, 2011 Probably Stoke so as to set a new record number of current and ex saints playing in the same match.
Viking Saint Posted 22 September, 2011 Posted 22 September, 2011 anyone know when the draw takes place??
Crazy Diamond Posted 22 September, 2011 Posted 22 September, 2011 anyone know when the draw takes place?? Saturday, think it'll be on Soccer Saturday. I'm starting to get excited about the Mickey Mouse Cup! Who knows how far we can go. Just hope we can maintain our league form and it doesn't prove to be a distraction.
scotty Posted 22 September, 2011 Posted 22 September, 2011 Probably Stoke so as to set a new record number of current and ex saints playing in the same match. lol, excellent point. I wouldnt mind a trip back to Stoke either, free accomodation and catch up with some friends....
Pancake Posted 22 September, 2011 Posted 22 September, 2011 I'm starting to get excited about the Mickey Mouse Cup! Who knows how far we can go. It's our natural next step. JPT and League One auto-promotion? CHECK CC and Championship auto-promotion? FAC and Premier top 2?
Crazy Diamond Posted 22 September, 2011 Posted 22 September, 2011 It's our natural next step. JPT and League One auto-promotion? CHECK CC and Championship auto-promotion? FAC and Premier top 2? Ever the optimist Mr. Pancake!
Made in Southampton Posted 22 September, 2011 Posted 22 September, 2011 I'd like to get the Arsenal away and beat them in their own backyard. Thus putting us right up there in the media spot light so that they can't ignore us and finally give us the credit we deserve.
Cabrone Posted 22 September, 2011 Posted 22 September, 2011 Arse away please, just a quick trip for me plus I'd like to see the Emirates. May even be able to nick it looking at the way they are playing at the moment.

And have hypocrite Wenger tapping up Lallana for the next 12 months until he leaves us for £20m + add-ons? No thanks.
conaero Posted 22 September, 2011 Posted 22 September, 2011 Its got to be Newcastle at St Marys, if not this round, the next.
Nexstar Posted 22 September, 2011 Posted 22 September, 2011 Aldershot Home/Away Arsenal Away Palace Away Chelsea Away Just so it's easy for me!
Windmill Arm 2 Posted 22 September, 2011 Posted 22 September, 2011 And have hypocrite Wenger tapping up Lallana for the next 12 months until he leaves us for £20m + add-ons? No thanks.Do you think Arsene Wenger has never heard of Adam Lallana at this moment then?
Made in Southampton Posted 22 September, 2011 Posted 22 September, 2011 And have hypocrite Wenger tapping up Lallana for the next 12 months until he leaves us for £20m + add-ons? No thanks. You realise Wenger has a TV, scouts n' stuff for that don't you?
This Charming Man Posted 22 September, 2011 Posted 22 September, 2011 Aldershot away, please. At a push, I'd accept Arsenal away.
Minsk Posted 22 September, 2011 Author Posted 22 September, 2011 Do you think Arsene Wenger has never heard of Adam Lallana at this moment then? You realise Wenger has a TV, scouts n' stuff for that don't you? Yes, I know it was a stupid post - but the thought just pees me off too much. I hate the way he whined about Fabregas and Barca whilst he was doing the same to us with AOC.
aintforever Posted 22 September, 2011 Posted 22 September, 2011 has to be Aldershot, but a trip to The Emerates would be nice.

I hate the way he whined about Fabregas and Barca whilst he was doing the same to us with AOC. I wouldn't get too worried, when they're sat in 13th place come the next transfer window, he'll be down the local job centre.
This Charming Man Posted 22 September, 2011 Posted 22 September, 2011 No matter what we all wish for, at the end of the day, we all know we're getting Burnley away.
Hatch Posted 22 September, 2011 Posted 22 September, 2011 One of the top teams at home, it might be on the tellybox then.
Appy Posted 22 September, 2011 Posted 22 September, 2011 No matter what we all wish for, at the end of the day, we all know we're getting Burnley away. Christ what a let down that would be, to hear the news when on the way up there for the league game too.
saintjay77 Posted 22 September, 2011 Posted 22 September, 2011 I would prefer someone bigger than us but not too big. man u the way they are playing at the mo would see us out of the cup, Arsenal dispite the way they are playing would probably be too big a step too. But Toon or Stoke would on paper look like a winnable game and a good progression to the next round should we get past them. By then the confidence should be higher and a bigger team may be more do-able. Rather the league is the priority but would also like to keep in the winning habit so the cup should still be taken seriously
