Saw him saturday after the game- he is now fully fit and back in contention- I didn't ask him about the court case though

Very pleased - will be extremely interesting to see (a) how long it takes him to push back into the squad (at Guly's expense?) and (b) whether he can show he has what it takes at NPC level. I think, if given the chance, he will be fantastic - like having a new top striker sign for us.

I dought he'll make the bench unless there are injuries.

Bart (gk) Martin (def) Morgan + Chappers (good midfield subs to have) De Riddler (mid/fwd with pace), he doesnt bring anything new to the team and with the limit of subs its best to have ppl on the bench which can change or cover a few different areas. This new league sub ruling is crap imo why bring it to these leagues and not the prem is really strange, it should be a min of 5 subs is a must max of 7 subs but with one spot to be awarded to a youngster to help future development.

The premiership still does have the seven sub rule, it was only the FL that changed it for league games from this season.

There is no need for a minimum as clubs do not have to name substitutes. But I agree that it's good to be able to name seven even to give some youngsters time on the bench or strikers coming back from injury.

I definitely think he would get on the bench. Recently, we have only had De Ridder as an attacking 'game-changing' sub. The rest our defensive cover or midfield replacements. Having the option of putting another forward on (particularly someone who hassles defences like Barnard) would be useful IMO.
