Ricky Redstripe Posted 21 September, 2011 Posted 21 September, 2011 I don't live in the area and haven't heard anything at all about Lee Barnard, what's the latest on him, anyone know?
Thedelldays Posted 21 September, 2011 Posted 21 September, 2011 Injured back in a couple if weeks. Says barney himself
Ricky Redstripe Posted 21 September, 2011 Author Posted 21 September, 2011 Will be good to have him back in the squad, I was worried he'd had a falling out with the management as it had all gone quiet with him.
Weston Saint Posted 21 September, 2011 Posted 21 September, 2011 He still has an ankle problem. Gets himself back to training and suffers again putting hims recovery back.
dubai_phil Posted 21 September, 2011 Posted 21 September, 2011 Took part in a match in training with Jaidi. Not putting any pressure on him At this rate hoping he will be back after the International Break. Jaidi waiting to see if any reaction to the practice game. Butterfield today was 1st game back after injury as well NA happy
Tractor_Saint Posted 3 October, 2011 Posted 3 October, 2011 Thought the case was scheduled for today?
Dalek2003 Posted 3 October, 2011 Posted 3 October, 2011 Thought the case was scheduled for today? You would think so, however, no need to rush things at the moment.
Spudders Posted 3 October, 2011 Posted 3 October, 2011 Hopefully Pinkscarf will be along on this thread soon to give us an update.
Windmill Arm 2 Posted 4 October, 2011 Posted 4 October, 2011 You would think so, however, no need to rush things at the moment. How do you rush a court case? We need Barney back IMO so we can make 17th place our own.
Ashley Grute Posted 4 October, 2011 Posted 4 October, 2011 Saw him saturday after the game- he is now fully fit and back in contention- I didn't ask him about the court case though
doddisalegend Posted 4 October, 2011 Posted 4 October, 2011 Saw him saturday after the game- he is now fully fit and back in contention- I didn't ask him about the court case though Excellent I like Barnard always works hard for his goals.
conaero Posted 4 October, 2011 Posted 4 October, 2011 This is good news, he will be hungry for goals and eager to prove a point.
Saint Fan CaM Posted 4 October, 2011 Posted 4 October, 2011 Saw him saturday after the game- he is now fully fit and back in contention- I didn't ask him about the court case though Very pleased - will be extremely interesting to see (a) how long it takes him to push back into the squad (at Guly's expense?) and (b) whether he can show he has what it takes at NPC level. I think, if given the chance, he will be fantastic - like having a new top striker sign for us.
del boy Posted 4 October, 2011 Posted 4 October, 2011 Injured back in a couple if weeks. Says barney himself How can he tell that?
Windmill Arm 2 Posted 4 October, 2011 Posted 4 October, 2011 How can he tell that?Because the next game is in a couple of weeks?
DrunkenSaint Posted 4 October, 2011 Posted 4 October, 2011 I dought he'll make the bench unless there are injuries. Bart (gk) Martin (def) Morgan + Chappers (good midfield subs to have) De Riddler (mid/fwd with pace), he doesnt bring anything new to the team and with the limit of subs its best to have ppl on the bench which can change or cover a few different areas. This new league sub ruling is crap imo why bring it to these leagues and not the prem is really strange, it should be a min of 5 subs is a must max of 7 subs but with one spot to be awarded to a youngster to help future development.
Thedelldays Posted 5 October, 2011 Posted 5 October, 2011 I bet he does make the bench at least in the next few weeks. He was superb last season I bet his starts/goals ratio last season was incredible He also scored so many vital/winning goals
Windmill Arm 2 Posted 5 October, 2011 Posted 5 October, 2011 I think Barnard will go straight on the bench and wouldn't be at all surprised to see him displace Connolly, who has been quiet of late.

The premiership still does have the seven sub rule, it was only the FL that changed it for league games from this season. There is no need for a minimum as clubs do not have to name substitutes. But I agree that it's good to be able to name seven even to give some youngsters time on the bench or strikers coming back from injury.
labibs Posted 5 October, 2011 Posted 5 October, 2011 I definitely think he would get on the bench. Recently, we have only had De Ridder as an attacking 'game-changing' sub. The rest our defensive cover or midfield replacements. Having the option of putting another forward on (particularly someone who hassles defences like Barnard) would be useful IMO.
Saint J 77 Posted 5 October, 2011 Posted 5 October, 2011 What is the latest on his court case? Does anyone actually know when it is? I thought it was meant to be this week but obviously not as its not been mentioned.
