Mr Tickle Posted 21 September, 2011 Posted 21 September, 2011 May well have this wrong!? On the sky sports app Alex is pictured kissing the Arsenal badge!? Fair play he's got his big move and cash etc.. But a bit early for that isn't it???
Charlie Wayman Posted 21 September, 2011 Posted 21 September, 2011 Always said he was a disloyal greedy little bugger. Glad he's gone we just don't need his type around here.
Pilchards Posted 21 September, 2011 Posted 21 September, 2011 Or wiping his nose on the shirt, it's amazing how a photo can confuse people. Last night I was learning forward to hear someone in a noisy place, would a photo show me ramming my tongue down his throat?
jjsaint Posted 21 September, 2011 Posted 21 September, 2011 He must be sooooo excited about his Carling Cup goal against the mighty Shrews. At amy rate somebody's got to kiss the Arsenal badge. On a thinly related note I found this funny: http://www.thedailymash.co.uk/sport/sport-headlines/ridiculing-arsenal-to-become-a-hate-crime-201109194319/
stevegrant Posted 21 September, 2011 Posted 21 September, 2011 May well have this wrong!? On the sky sports app Alex is pictured kissing the Arsenal badge!? Fair play he's got his big move and cash etc.. But a bit early for that isn't it??? I went to the game last night and my reaction to that was simply "hmmmm". Very strange. He played a slightly odd role last night, almost as a defensive right-midfielder, allowing Carl Dickinson to overlap on a regular basis and slotting in at right-back to cover for him, when his strength would be playing high up the pitch and attacking the opposing full-back. When he got on the ball he did look dangerous, as you'd expect against a League Two side, but that didn't really happen enough.
oldsarum Posted 21 September, 2011 Posted 21 September, 2011 it's all a planned publicity stunt to push Arsenal's super dooper horrible new badge, probably part of Chambo's contract was to kiss the badge if he scores

Enjoy the prawn sandwiches you ******* turncoat
stevegrant Posted 21 September, 2011 Posted 21 September, 2011 First they take Stevie Williams, then Theo, then Oxo and now Granty. Enjoy the prawn sandwiches you ******* turncoat To be fair, it was free And their pies are ****
Saintandy666 Posted 21 September, 2011 Posted 21 September, 2011 He is still yet to prove himself above League 1 opposition!
Toomer Posted 21 September, 2011 Posted 21 September, 2011 First they take Stevie Williams, then Theo, then Oxo and now Granty. Enjoy the prawn sandwiches you ******* turncoat Now that made me smile, you must be earning to much Steve to go to the Arse.
stevegrant Posted 21 September, 2011 Posted 21 September, 2011 Now that made me smile, you must be earning to much Steve to go to the Arse. As I said above, it was a freebie last night, a bloke at work had a spare ticket. Face value was only a tenner anyway.
Wurzel Posted 21 September, 2011 Posted 21 September, 2011 would a photo show me ramming my tongue down his throat? Wouldn't be the first time. As for kissing the badge I always think that's a bit weird anyway. A thumping of the left chest with right hand, maybe with an additional thumbs up, would to me indicate that you are proud to be wearing the shirt / proud of the club. But kissing a badge - unless you are a one club wonder like MLT - just makes a player look like a slapper who'll **** anyone for the right money.
Benali Saint Posted 21 September, 2011 Posted 21 September, 2011 first they take stevie williams, then theo, then oxo and now granty. Enjoy the prawn sandwiches you ******* turncoat pmsl
This Charming Man Posted 21 September, 2011 Posted 21 September, 2011 He spent our hard earned fivers on an Arsenal Season Ticket.
doddisalegend Posted 21 September, 2011 Posted 21 September, 2011 Wouldn't be the first time. As for kissing the badge I always think that's a bit weird anyway. Personally I'm a big fan of Lamberts fist pumping celebration. Though for pure crowd pleasing you can't beat a bit of Papa Wagio styleee (though TBF he's problably the only person who could get away with that)
surrey1saint Posted 21 September, 2011 Posted 21 September, 2011 I find that frankly ridiculous.....what a cock
Professor Posted 21 September, 2011 Posted 21 September, 2011 Got to do something while you watch the other team score another goal and none of your team's players will pass to you. Good to see his kit's so clean, but if you're only on the pitch for 10 minutes I suppose it would be.
Macey_J2 Posted 21 September, 2011 Posted 21 September, 2011 My exact reaction! I saw this last night and my first thought was "eh?!, bit early for that!" Fark him, he's gone but it wasn't a nice sight to see. A similar feeling to when i saw the picture of him in his arsenal kit the day he signed- Cheated on!
jawillwill Posted 21 September, 2011 Posted 21 September, 2011 Saints related? He used to be a Saints player, yes. You should really start paying more attention.
Appy Posted 21 September, 2011 Posted 21 September, 2011 I went to the game last night and my reaction to that was simply "hmmmm". Very strange. stevegrant Posted 21 September, 2011 Posted 21 September, 2011 Dickinson? Is that Jenkinson's new name? That's the one
Wurzel Posted 21 September, 2011 Posted 21 September, 2011 I saw it posted on twitter: Now I've seen the picture I realise he's not kissing the badge at all. He's using the shirt as a comfort blanket. It was an evening game remember. He's just doing what most toddlers do when they get tired.
chriscumm Posted 21 September, 2011 Posted 21 September, 2011 Heard about this on twitter last night. Its disappointing. I'd put it down to being young and naive. But who can say they weren't a naive knob at 18? I certainly was. and I wasn't earning 10s of thousands of pounds a week at the time. Good luck to you Chambo, but please remember that legendary status isn't earned over night. Kissing a badge means nothing to fans if he leaves Arsenal after getting a better offer in a short space of time, as we all know.
Huntingdon Posted 21 September, 2011 Posted 21 September, 2011 Haha what a complete jerk! When we next get Arsenal to SMS, I reckon Theo will get warm applause and Chamberlain will get booed He will deserve it too
St_Tel49 Posted 21 September, 2011 Posted 21 September, 2011 That's the one We understand - just proving that you are not really an Arsenal fan
doddisalegend Posted 21 September, 2011 Posted 21 September, 2011 Wow I'm surprised how bitter people are about oxo. You'd think we'd be used to our best young talent doing a runner by now.
Lighthouse Posted 21 September, 2011 Posted 21 September, 2011 Haha what a complete jerk! When we next get Arsenal to SMS, I reckon Theo will get warm applause and Chamberlain will get booed He will deserve it too Why? What has Theo done that Alex hasn't, other than p*ss off to warm Arsenal's bench 6 months earlier? I really don't get all the hate for AOC. He hasn't slagged the club off and always played to the best of his considerable tallent when he was here. I don't think he should have left, but if anything it will hinder him, not Saints. We have a fantastic squad and an extra £12m in our pockets, why so bitter? As for badge kissing, it's arse gravy. Alan Smith wandered around Elland Road kissing the badge after his last ever Leeds game. 2 weeks later he was at Man Utd.
Saints Fan Dan Posted 21 September, 2011 Posted 21 September, 2011 Haha what a complete jerk! When we next get Arsenal to SMS, I reckon Theo will get warm applause and Chamberlain will get booed He will deserve it too If ours fans do that, he WILL score against us.
1976_Child Posted 21 September, 2011 Posted 21 September, 2011 I wouldn't even try to kiss a badger. They are vicious and will rip your face off. Grrrrrrrr....
CWD Posted 21 September, 2011 Posted 21 September, 2011 FFS he's an 18 year old lad acting in the heat of the moment of scoring his first goal for a massive team infront of 45000 fans. Give him a break.
Secret Site Agent Posted 21 September, 2011 Posted 21 September, 2011 To be fair, it was free And their pies are **** I was a little worried. I wouldn't want Steve to go for less than £20 mill
hutch Posted 22 September, 2011 Posted 22 September, 2011 I hope he goes on to have a great career at Arsenal, or wherever (except when he's playing against us). Every goal he scores will add more £££s to the value of all our Academy players.
Fan The Flames Posted 22 September, 2011 Posted 22 September, 2011 Kissing the badge is great and its in my top three of goal celebrations if I was a footballer. It about the timing, some might see this one as a bit early but the young lad can be forgiven for that, was it his first goal for Arsenal after all.
SCraze Posted 22 September, 2011 Posted 22 September, 2011 I hope the Lallana chant about making Messi look ****e gets changed to makes Oxlade look ****e - laughing all the way to the bank, Arsenal bought the wrong player, thanks for the £12m
hutch Posted 22 September, 2011 Posted 22 September, 2011 Just up on the Gunner's website: “I owe them massively - I’d been at Southampton since I was seven,” he said. “They put so much hard work into me and the fans down there welcomed me into the first team so warmly. “I couldn’t have asked for more, so I’ve got a lot of time for them and I hope to be able to play there again one day and show my appreciation. I’ll always have a place in my heart for them.” Southampton have enjoyed a flying start to their Championship campaign after going up from League One last season and are already being tipped for a second consecutive promotion. Oxlade-Chamberlain would love to see his old friends in the top flight. “One major factor down there is that it’s such a great group of lads - one of the hardest things about leaving was the boys,” he said. “Whoever comes in is welcomed straightaway, much like here at Arsenal. “Everyone down there has been going for the same thing, and they’ve had that continuity - they haven’t had many players leaving or coming in, it’s still the tight group that was promoted last season, and I think the lift promotion gave them was massive. “Things are looking good down at Southampton.”
fez Posted 22 September, 2011 Posted 22 September, 2011 He hasn't slagged the club off . On the contrary he still loves us and will be eternally grateful to Saints, according to this http://www.arsenal.com/news/news-archive/oxlade-chamberlain-i-owe-saints-everything
Liquidshokk Posted 22 September, 2011 Posted 22 September, 2011 On the contrary he still loves us and will be eternally grateful to Saints, according to this http://www.arsenal.com/news/news-archive/oxlade-chamberlain-i-owe-saints-everything Quite a coincedence that this has come about whilst there seems to be a lot of bitter saints fans slagging him off recently :Oo
Mr Tickle Posted 22 September, 2011 Author Posted 22 September, 2011 Wo wo wo! Let's calm this s h I t down! I was trying to make the point of, why kiss the badge after one game against a s h I t team? Personally I think he has not only jumped the gun, but hoped skipped and jumped it!
pap Posted 22 September, 2011 Posted 22 September, 2011 He spent our hard earned fivers on an Arsenal Season Ticket. Speak for yourself. I stole my fiver from a tramp.
Dr Who? Posted 22 September, 2011 Posted 22 September, 2011 I kissed my referee badge the other day, as I sent off a mouthy spotty 15 year old!!!
Chez Posted 22 September, 2011 Posted 22 September, 2011 Why? What has Theo done that Alex hasn't, other than p*ss off to warm Arsenal's bench 6 months earlier? didn't Leo signed a contract when he didn't need to ensure Saints got a transfer fee. Not sure Alex signed his Saints contract for those reasons.
VectisSaint Posted 22 September, 2011 Posted 22 September, 2011 Why? What has Theo done that Alex hasn't, other than p*ss off to warm Arsenal's bench 6 months earlier? Alan Smith wandered around Elland Road kissing the badge after his last ever Leeds game. 2 weeks later he was at Man Utd. Sorry, but the situation with Theo and AOC was very different. AOC couldn't wait to get away and his old man was a total dickhead and was engineering the move for a while. Fortunately we have a shrewd chairman who got a massive payment for such an inexperienced player, a player leaving a club on the up but with no compunction about going. Theo's situation was very very different, but to be fair to Lowe who I usually hate, he was also very shrewd and did a good deal when it was needed, Theo's departure was inevitable given our precarious financial state at the time, and Theo acted with good grace and ensured together with Lowe that we got a tremendous deal given we were only assured of a tribunal fee. Alos, Theo's father was not a **** like Oxo's. Personally I have no bad feeling against Oxo, but I sure do against his skate father.
hughieslastminutegoal Posted 23 September, 2011 Posted 23 September, 2011 Wouldn't be the first time. As for kissing the badge I always think that's a bit weird anyway. Now correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm sure I've read people on here saying things of a new signing for us like "..and it was great to see him kiss the badge today.. he'll be a fan's favourite.." or words to that effect. As to the "thumping the left chest with a thumbs up" I thought that all started with Jimmy Dickinson still playing for the Skates at 47 or whatever, conveying to the Pompey manager after an attack that "it's ok, the ticker has restarted".
Dalek2003 Posted 23 September, 2011 Posted 23 September, 2011 He is only copying his idols that he is seen doing it on TV, the latest trend !
