I said at the game that Carr had a go at Lallana for taking the ****.

Some sort of unwritten rule (That I have never understood) that youngsters should take the **** out of expereinced pros with nutmegs and the such like.

Fantastic skill. We've got to just enjoy it for however long it lasts

What a ridiculous unwritten rule if true.

And anyway, what is Lallana supposed to do? Just give away possession?

And anyway again, Lallana is an experienced pro IMO. Not like Stephen Carr but I would class him as closer to veteran or 'over the hill' maybe. :p

I'm not sure from that replay that the second one was really a nutmeg but they were superb pieces of awareness and skill combined. And he's doing this to players who were reasonably comfortable in the Premier until Brum's late season collapse. Speaks volumes for Lallana's quality.

To Gemmel's point about the 'unwritten code', though, I worry a little that someone is going to hurt him if he does that too often.

The first definitely is, he nicks the ball off Car with one foot, moving it across his body to the other which he uses to poke it through his leg, not sure if he touched the 2nd but it was all about his movement which completely fooled the defender so he gets the credit for it.

Agreed, Benj. I corrected myself with an edit.

The best thing about this is that it appears that Carr got the ball in the tackle, and ended up getting booked.

AL don't stop taking the ****....

thought the same on first viewing but he follows through with his foot & kicks him in the stomach area while bringing him down, can see why the Ref booked him

My Dad told me a story about Bolton in the early 1960's. Young lad playing for Preston (I think) nutmegged one of the Bolton fullbacks, Roy Hartle. Hartle wasn't too happy about this and the next time the young winger got the ball he ended up in the Burnden Park ditch...

...AL would have had his head kicked off!!!

Remember that from the match, it was clear as day even from over at in block 40. Fantastic stuff, we need an updated compilation of lallanas skills on youtube

No we don't because it will attract more interest in him!! got to try and keep him quiet and under wraps for as long as possible! :)

....aren't there just a few memories of the best of MLT about Lallana?

He seems to make chances out of nothing can change pace while other people take breath and can score with either foot or his head.

His goal " celebrations " or sometimes.." lack of..." are also very MLT-ish. A sort of very laid-back ...it's only a goal " gestures.

I have to ask myself. If Alex O-C was worth £12 million ..what price Adam ? (not that I would EVER want to sell him).

What price to us or his true value as a player in the market place? I think there would be a huge difference between the two figures, which is why i can see him being here for a long time to come. He's infinitely more important to us than Oxo ever was
