Pilchards Posted 19 September, 2011 Posted 19 September, 2011 (edited) I know we are on a cracking run at the moment but am I right that out of the last 20 games we have won 19? Anymore amazing facts about our team please as it's truly amazing to read it. Edited 19 September, 2011 by Pilchards
Saint_lambden Posted 19 September, 2011 Posted 19 September, 2011 Adkins currently has the best win ratio of any Saints manager EVER. Best start to the season for 103 years. We're pretty damn good etc etc.
Pilchards Posted 19 September, 2011 Author Posted 19 September, 2011 Saints have not lost at home this year and I reckon we have not dropped a point too, could be wrong?
CFSFC Posted 19 September, 2011 Posted 19 September, 2011 More points than anyone in the championship....
The Cat Posted 19 September, 2011 Posted 19 September, 2011 From Colchester away in March to now we have this record: P 24 W 21 D 1 L 2 F 58 A 20 Incredible and ridiculous stats.
Nexstar Posted 19 September, 2011 Posted 19 September, 2011 Saints have not lost at home this year and I reckon we have not dropped a point too, could be wrong? Notts county in mid-January was the last time we dropped points at home (2). United was the only defeat.
Draino76 Posted 19 September, 2011 Posted 19 September, 2011 Just watched the 'all angles covered' stream. My jaw is on the f u c k i n g floor. Believe? Erm yes I do now.
SFCDan Posted 19 September, 2011 Posted 19 September, 2011 A nice, but somewhat unimportant stat - Southampton have received the least yellow cards in the division with just five. The most in the league is 19 - picked up by our buddies down the road.
SaintJackoInHurworth Posted 20 September, 2011 Posted 20 September, 2011 * I know it's an unfair comparison, but on a direct comparison of form in competitive matches over the past 11 months, ours is as good as Man Utd. Take a period of time less than eleven months and our form is better - except if you compare only form this season. * In our last 15 matches, we have won 14 and lost one. * Since the beginning of April we have played 19 games, won 17 and lost just two. * Since losing to Walsall at the beginning of March, we have won 21 of the 24 subsequent games, drawing one and losing two. * Since losing to Man Utd at the end of February, we have played 30 games of which we have won 25, drawn two and lost just three. * Since last Christmas we have played 38 games, winning 30, drawing 3 and losing 5. * Since losing to Huddersfield on the 16 October 2010, we have played 47 games, winning 36, drawing 4 and losing 7. * Since one year ago, we have played 52 games, winning 39, drawing 5 and losing 8. * At home we have 14 (not 13!) straight home wins in all competitions (excluding pre-season) - we have 13 straight home LEAGUE wins. * Since losing to Brentford at home on 11th December, we have had 16 straight home LEAGUE games without defeat. Over the same period we have lost only one home game in 19 home matches - the defeat against Man Utd in the cup. During this period of time we drew one home match (the game against Notts County) and won 17. * Over the past year (actually since the beginning of October as we didn't have any home games for the last couple of weeks in October lst year) we have played 28 home games in all tournaments (excluding pre-season friendlies). Our record in those games reads as follows: P.....W.....D.....L.....F.....A 28...24.....2.....2....66....16
SaintBobby Posted 20 September, 2011 Posted 20 September, 2011 I've lost track of the number now....but it's something like....of the last 30 league games where Saints have been leading at half time, we have gone on to win them all. This must be close to being an English record for any team ever.
hamster Posted 20 September, 2011 Posted 20 September, 2011 Over the past week our attendances have died. :-( Must be a record in itself.
dubai_phil Posted 20 September, 2011 Posted 20 September, 2011 Oh great. Commentators curse of a thread appears the day leading up to a Carling Cup game at SMS where we will no doubt give some fringe players an outing Better change my Prediction League then
Daren W Posted 20 September, 2011 Posted 20 September, 2011 Played just seven games and are already twelve points ahead of Pompey...
Benali Saint Posted 20 September, 2011 Posted 20 September, 2011 We have 3 times as many points as Poopey
st.sj Posted 20 September, 2011 Posted 20 September, 2011 The most amazing fact is that Adkins is only going to make us better.
ponto1963 Posted 20 September, 2011 Posted 20 September, 2011 Fact , some people are miserable buggers and are always looking for the negatives ,rather than taking pleasure from the positives. ENJOY and long may it last :-) I'm always looking for the positives
The Cat Posted 20 September, 2011 Posted 20 September, 2011 We have 3 times as many points as Poopey Keep this ratio going until the end of the season and we'll romp the league on 105 points while they are relegated with 35.
Webby Posted 20 September, 2011 Posted 20 September, 2011 Just watched the 'all angles covered' stream. My jaw is on the f u c k i n g floor. Believe? Erm yes I do now.Link to that stream please.
Webby Posted 20 September, 2011 Posted 20 September, 2011 Ah it's saints player. Ignore me. Doesnt work on iPad does it?
Legod Third Coming Posted 20 September, 2011 Posted 20 September, 2011 What's more impressive than any stats is that there is still ample room for improvement! We still go to sleep at times and our closing down of opposition players is sometimes lazy (resulting in two goals for Forest, for example). So the great news is we're good, but not as good we could be. And that's not negative before people complain, that's called always striving for excellence!
MINIBARCELONASAINT Posted 20 September, 2011 Posted 20 September, 2011 Adkins had the best Points per game ratio across all the Football League's last season.
Dark Munster Posted 20 September, 2011 Posted 20 September, 2011 A nice, but somewhat unimportant stat - Southampton have received the least yellow cards in the division with just five. The most in the league is 19 - picked up by our buddies down the road. Talking about the Cheats, here's their record over the last 16 competitive matches: W 1 D 7 L 8 I wonder if the few are looking forward to December?
david in sweden Posted 20 September, 2011 Posted 20 September, 2011 Fact: Bubbles burst Oh really, Glasgow... is there anything that you can celebrate and be glad about ?
Cheam Saint Posted 20 September, 2011 Posted 20 September, 2011 We were the last team to beat Huddersfield in the League (9 months ago).
saintgeorge1 Posted 20 September, 2011 Posted 20 September, 2011 28 of Adkins' 38 victories have been by 2 or more goals
wightman35 Posted 20 September, 2011 Posted 20 September, 2011 Well, it is certainly good to be on the Saints 'bus these days!
LGTL Posted 20 September, 2011 Posted 20 September, 2011 From Colchester away in March to now we have this record: P 24 W 21 D 1 L 2 F 58 A 20 Incredible and ridiculous stats. And i've been at every single one of them. Nice.
