Fitzhugh Fella Posted 19 September, 2011 Share Posted 19 September, 2011 was described thus in the Guardian (apologies toTrousers and all you other D Mail readers) "symptomatic of a team in synchronicity" pretty much sums it up for me - certainly going forward. Chin Strain Posted 19 September, 2011 Share Posted 19 September, 2011 Agreed - great goal. Just waiting for the highlights to appear on the BBC website for a proper look.

(not THE) Kevin Moore Posted 19 September, 2011 Share Posted 19 September, 2011 It was a beautifully worked goal in a really tight space, chaplow timed his run to perfection, lallana played a perfectly weighted 'eye of the needle' pass and the finish was calmness personified. alpine_saint Posted 19 September, 2011 Share Posted 19 September, 2011 Just seen it on SaintsPlayer. The movement from the Saints team was gobsmacking.
Miffy Posted 19 September, 2011 Share Posted 19 September, 2011 I agree with the sentiment, but not sure about the use of the word synchronicity. Benali Saint Posted 19 September, 2011 Share Posted 19 September, 2011 It was a good goal, Chaplow finished well. Sums up the way we are playing at the moment
jayrivers Posted 19 September, 2011 Share Posted 19 September, 2011 Also the disallowed Connolly Goal, which was on-side. Very well worked and timed to perfection

jayrivers Posted 19 September, 2011 Share Posted 19 September, 2011 Did not look onside from where I was sat Highlights on Saints player and their camera angle showed him to be about a foot onside, so only going by that
Chin Strain Posted 19 September, 2011 Share Posted 19 September, 2011 Did not look onside from where I was sat It looked onside from where I sat (Chapel) - the centre half was playing him on
jayrivers Posted 19 September, 2011 Share Posted 19 September, 2011 But either way, the point I was making it shows how good we are going forward and Lallana playing people in with a killer ball...
Miffy Posted 19 September, 2011 Share Posted 19 September, 2011 But also means: 'The state or fact of being synchronous or simultaneous; synchronism.' This is an oversimplification of Jungs theory and ignores the idea of apparent causality where there isn't any. Either way it was a cracking goal. Rebel Posted 19 September, 2011 Share Posted 19 September, 2011 they've tried that move a number of times in recent games - it was the third time on Saturday that it resulted in the goal - a great move straight from the training ground
Mozz Posted 19 September, 2011 Share Posted 19 September, 2011 Did not look onside from where I was sat Replays on Saints Player show that Connolly was about half a yard onside.
Lighthouse Posted 19 September, 2011 Share Posted 19 September, 2011 Clearly hasn't been lifted from The Express as it doesn't mention Diana. She was clearly playing Connolly onside.

Saint_clark Posted 19 September, 2011 Share Posted 19 September, 2011 they've tried that move a number of times in recent games - it was the third time on Saturday that it resulted in the goal - a great move straight from the training ground It's so simple it's genius. Runner from midfield passes along the wing, continues his run to pull the fullback behind the rest of the defence creating space behind the CBs for another player to run into whilst staying onside. CB Fry Posted 19 September, 2011 Share Posted 19 September, 2011 Just watched Saintsplayer myself. We don't score many bad goals these days do we? Highlights never effectively show the work of clearly instrumental "team" players like Jack Cork, which is a shame. But Lallana is just looking unbelievable. Can't imagine there are many better players in the second tier this season. The big worry for me in the coming months, especially during the winter, is that more and more teams and individuals will take the Stephen Carr route, and start dishing out a few "reducers" on our Adam. If I was a opposing manager, that's what I'd be saying - kick him.
suewhistle Posted 19 September, 2011 Share Posted 19 September, 2011 I am, I've just stayed up late to watch it.:-) Much better than earlier when I was doing an Italian tax return and a translation where I didn't even understand the English! Connolly didn't seem offside, but it did need the benefit of the cameras to see it.
