A fellow Kingsland ST holder was explaining yesterday why he missed the Forest game. On arrival at turnstyle realised he had brought last year's ST book by mistake.

Stewards would not let him in so was sent to TO, after checking he was who he said he was etc they agreed to issue a replacement ticket for the game at the cost of £10!.Understandably having spent over £500 for the privalege of reserving that seat for the season and the TO refusal to budge he told them to stuff it and drove back to Basingstoke.

Think I would have paid up and then wrote to club to try and reclaim.

I've done that a couple of times in the last few years. However, I've spoken to the head steward outside the turnstiles and explained the problem and have always been let in, the proviso being that I find him the next match and show him the ST book.

50 mile round trip 10 quid

Parking 4 quid

Being a plonker and leaving home without a ticket. 10 quid.

Having a temper tantrum about it and then going home without seeing the match. Priceless

How are the club to know that your mate hasn't given his ST to someone else to use and he's trying to get in for free. Seems like a pointless tantrum to drive home after making the effort to get there rather than admitting to himself that he made a mistake and coughing up the £10.

Yet again someone makes a mistake and expects not to have to pay for that mistake. Why didnt he just pay the £10 and then take it up with the club after.

Lets hope he didnt try to park at St Marys i have heard they have started CHARGING!

This happened to me a few years back, I went to the Ticket Office and they just printed me a regular ticket for my seat for free

You are allowed one 'freebie' if you forget your ST, thereafter it will cost you. I know as I have done it before, just go to TO and they will sort it out for you quite easy really. No need for temper tantrums.

I had to kill Bob Morton because he made a mistake.

Now it's time to erase that mistake.

I would have coughed up the £10, like someone has said you get one stay of execution then you pay the price. I have a mate who did similar changed his coat felt the pocket before leaving the house, season ticket was where it should be, gets to the ground and its last years book. Ticket office gave him a temp ticket and said next time there will be a charge.

Just to clarify my origional post-he is not a mate just someone who sits behind me and it did say I would have paid the tenner and argued later

Hatch if you want to send me the £10 I'll give it to him wed night!

I know of various occasions (especially when we have sold out) where people have gone to the TO explaining they have forgotten their season tickets (they haven't), only to pass the duplicate ticket on to mates so they can get in for nothing. Can see why the club charges a tenner as it protects their revenue.

Nice system to exploit though when we sell out.

To be fair, the £10 cost is harsh and unnecessary; but it seems your mate has cut off his nose to spite his face for the sake of a tenner.

Especially as it costs a tenner in petrol to drive from Southampton to Basingrad and back...

Jokes on him.

Why would you keep last years empty booklet ?

Exactly, what a nob. And a bigger one for acting like a girl when the club wanted to charge him for being a tool. Sounds to me like he needs to grow a pair and act like an adult FFS.

I don't normally reply to threads by saying just "THIS", but on this occasion I'll make an exception. Err....oh...

If that is really how you felt, as opposed to be swayed by the general feedback, why not change the thread title to a less provocative one? I sense not many (any?) have any sympathy.

I did it a couple of times last season and no problem with them printing out a free ticket each time, once that they had checked up on identity.

They have been doing this for years. At the Dell a few times when i didn't get a ticket for sold out games i would pretend to be a mate who had forgotten his season ticket, buy a ticket for a tenner from the TO and then squeeze in the seats between them with them all shiffting along a bit.
